🔥WATCH NEXT ▶︎ “Brilliant *NEW* way people are using *THIS* Broom”: ua-cam.com/video/__4Ns6e9GxU/v-deo.htmlsi=GGW0yeVL5goqc0gY
In scrubbing the floor, use a *“deck brush”.* It looks like a handheld scrub brush that you get down on your hands and knees with on the floor. However it has a mop/broom handle attached to it. They sell the head at the Dollar Tree store, or hardware stores sell complete deck brush “brooms”. It's for scrubbing outside decks, but it works great on tile floors, and grout. The stiff short bristles do an amazing job, and you get to stand up to scrub. Good for bad backs.
Hope this helps. Take care, stay safe, have a nice day. 👵☮️🖖
Great show!.... I gotta go and put a spray nozzle on my bottle of Ajax!
Bending back the toothbrush is also a good way of differentiating it from the toothbrushes you still use for your teeth.
Hmmm, never thought of that. I just usually keep them in different places to avoid that.
Can't be too careful.
I have a dedicated towel that I roll up and stick into the gasket in my front loader that I leave in there until the dryer finishes and then I unroll it and hang it up to air dry and I never have any mildew or mold in my washing machine.
❤️❤️❤️
I used the Clorax Pen for grout. Much more control and works for me. Clorax discontinued them, but others make a similar product. Love Zout. Had grease on a shirt, it went thru laundry and drying and I thought it was ruined. I used Zout and it took the stain out even though it had been dried in.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
A denture brush would work great on scrubbing the grout too!
Omg!!! Ugh!!! I did the suggested way too! I was sooo pissed off!! The mess was absolutly impossible to remove! Its been a few months since and even through many moppings, there is still baking soda residue! NEVER USE!! I am happy however, to have found you! I appreciate your honesty and reliability more than you will ever know...thank you!😉👍♥️
Lol 😂 thanks so much!! 😘😘😘😘
Great idea about meltng/ bending a toothbrush to the best shape to clean
HELPFUL HINT: My husband owns a carpet and upholstery cleaning business. Whenever using Peroxide for cleaning, mix it 1/2 HOT water and 1/2 Peroxide. The hot water activates the peroxide. It makes a huge difference in spot cleaning or overall cleaning. I use it on my tile in bathrooms with white grout. Mix Peroxide/Hot Water and pour around the floor, add a few drops of Dawn around as well. Sprinkle some baking soda if you want, but not needed. Srub it in, I use a scrub brush on the end of a mop handle so I do not have to bend/stoop/crawl. After scrubbing, leave it for 30 to 45 minutes and then just mop it up, takes a couple of mopping rounds. Dry it up with an old towel. As it dries, the grout continues to whiten over days, but you can see an immediate result.
does this bleach or whiten non-white fabrics/carpet?
409 works. I bought a Narrow stiff broom Spray on the 409 let it sit a few minutes, scrub Broom came from Temu. Love that think. No bending or kneeling.
Great hack melting the toothbrush!!!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Try using vinegar as a fabric softener! I’ve used it for years.. doesn’t smell and also helps clean.. my repair guy also told me people usually use way more soap then you need . I use a tablespoon for a Reg load of laundry and it also doesn’t break down the fabric that using too much soap will do to your cloths
I leave my tide on it’s side on top of the washing machine with the spout down then just slide it forward over the detergent drawer and press the release button. I keep a piece of dollar tree drawer liner under the bottle so if it drips after you slide it back it’s easy clean up. Essentially i never have to lift the bottle.
Thanks for your sacrifice in showing us to NOT use baking soda on the floor! Much appreciated!
Any time! 😂
My favorite way to clean my grout is with dawn power wash. I let is set for a while then use a grout brush from grove. Sometimes need to respray stubborn areas and repeat. I then use my spin wash mop, but this takes awhile to get up because of all the bubbles, but is so worth it!
Great tip!
I have been spraying stains with Dawn Powerwash before washing on cool and it worked really great on grease
I love my Shark steamer for my floors.
I absolutely love the bent toothbrush trick!!!
I think you are taking dye out of your grout, but it does look better!
I use toilet bowl gel cleaner for my grout and it works great. Thanks for the tips.
❤️❤️❤️
That's what I use also.
I went back to a top-loader when my front loader died….so happy! I hated the front loader but it came with the house.
I just lay down paper towels over the tile/grout & soak them with the peroxide & leave it overnight. Works like magic!
❤️❤️❤️
Use your steamer for the grout. If you want to put a little degreaser on the grout first, do it....but steam is GREAT.
Use the green machine to clean the baking soda out if your grout.
I use watered down Folex on stains in the laundry, it is AMAZING!
Ha! I never even knew those soap drawers on the washer came out!!!
❤️❤️❤️
Why did I get happy when you bent that toothbrush THEN got even happier when you whipped out the steam cleaner!! Am steaming my trashcan while watching😂
Lol you are great 😂😘
Peroxide for the grout was wonderful idea thank you
Glad it was helpful!
I tried the hydrogen peroxide on grout !! It worked!!! Thanks not too terribly labor intensive either.
I recommend using Clorox bleach (as she did) over knockoffs. Here's why:
* Clorox is made using a marsh water osmosis process. The byproduct of this process is - Water! Which is put back into the marshland to become more marsh water .... etc.
* Bc of the process that only Clorox uses your whites actually get & stay white. The reason whites get "yellow" over time is bc of the bleach making process others use has chemicals besides bleach in it.
* Bc the by product for making Clorox is water, it's process is environmentally friendly and the natural bleach is also easier for the environment to absorb than the chemical process.
Absolutely love these tips and tricks!! And I will definitely be tackling my washer... 🥺 I haven't looked at it for a while..ugh!!! 👍😁👍😁😁🤗🤗🤗
Glad it was helpful! 😘
Your channel has grown so much!! Congratulations 🥰🥰🥰🥳🥳🥳
Awe thanks so much Debra! Love you 😘
Zep grout cleaner is quick and easy. Works very well.
This the laundry detergent cup in with the load. Comes out clean
great tips, I really like the cheese grater idea. I do not have grout in my house so I was kind of zoning out and your calm soft voice put me to sleep! lol but I woke up for the rest of the video
Glad it was helpful! Lol 😂
I take my washing machine drawer out after every wash and let it sit upside down wipe my door and the elastic wipe where the drawer was then when its dry i put it back . 30 seconds it takes and everything is spotless
Can't wait for more great tips. 😊 Thanks ❤
More to come!
Re Borax -- love it! I've been around a long time too. ;)
The best!
Great hacks. Thank you for all you do.
Glad you like them!
I’ve used with great success- club soda and a scrub brush!
Good to know!
I love using my Bissell Steam Shot for cleaning tile grout. It takes a while to do the whole floor, because a full tank only lasts for about 10 minutes of cleaning before you have to let it cool off, refill and then let it get up to full heat, but you can cover a lot of territory in those 10 minutes. I use the Dollar Tree's Awesome cleaner to spray the grout lines first, let that sit while the steamer is heating up, steam the lines and then mop up with a big towel. Far better than any chemicals that I've tried, and no scrubbing required. The steam does the work.
I love all your hacks! They are so good 💕
❤️❤️❤️
I’ve heard to spray a LIGHT coat of Pam (or other non-stick spray). I’ve not tried it but thought I would share.
Have you tried the steam cleaning machine on your grout? I think that would work well....well-sealed grout is easier to clean and some of these chemicals break down the seal!
My daughterinlaw uses it on her grout with just water. It really worked well.
Did you know that fabric softener builds up gunk in the drum of your washing machine?
I love Borax to clean with it works so well. I also use a lot of toothbrushes to clean with as well. I get them at The Dollar store they have them in packs of 3 or 4 sometimes well worth every penny. Baking soda and Peroxicde is noting but OXY clean that they sell for sky high prices. It works well.
❤️❤️❤️
Have been using toothbrush for dishes for years mostly for items like the grater. I get a pack of 4 or more at Dollar Tree or any other store that might have then for a cheap price and keep them for kitchen use only. If I need for other areas in the house I buy another set with different colors. For the grout someone here on UA-cam mentioned the Clorox toilet bowl Gel Cleaner and it did work for me also for shower stains.😊😊
I got rid of my front load washer. They are so stinky. I love my Speed Queen.
Aqua mix grout cleaner at Home Depot and a grout brush works great.
Ok guys don't like either to clean grout lines, but I do use at all my rental properties purple degreaser. Find it at any auto store, Walmart or other places. Now you need to use it 50/50 water degreaser. See if you don't think this is easier than either of these two.
Purple power is the name. And for really tuff grout straight up use with no water is ok and scrub. It will make it like new to reseal it again between renters
After I do laundry I put a sponge in the rubber seal to absorb the moisture, otherwise it is too wet to dry.
👍🏻🐄 I'm from Minnesota...a town really close to the Wisconsin border. I lo💛e my cheese too!!!! 🧀 😋😍🥰
So good!
Very Helpful girlie! Love it!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks!
Thank you sooooooo much Kelly ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
I had a Tide pod ruin my favorite top. The pod melted to it, and I didn't catch it until I pulled it out of the dryer. I tried everything to remove it including iron, and it didn't work.
Wish you could cone to Lehighton PA and help me get organized and cleaned😊
Maybe one day!
I would read the instructions on the Zep cleaner it says apply and then use a grout cleaning brush and let it sit then come back up and clean it up and I've had amazing results with that but the only thing I use to clean my grout but after you clean your grout you need to steal it.
Great hacks thanks ❤
Homemade Dawn power wash? How did you make that?
Love your channel! Why do you use the short wash on your laundrey? And is the only cycle you use? Thanks.
Thank you ❤️ pretty much! Our clothes are not that “saturated or soiled”. It saves so much time with running approx 7 loads per week and money and the clothes are just as clean in my opinion 👍🎉
😂😅😊 NOOKS N CRANNIES ABOUT 30 TIMES AND GO TO TOWN FAVORITE WORD.. 🤣😅😂
I love front load washers! However I use powder detergent. The liquid detergent is made with animal oil and tends to mold your washer.
I USED TOILET BOWL CLEANER THAT BLUE ONE ON MY CROUT AND RUBBER AROUND MY BATHTUB WORKS GREAT ALMOST LIKE TEETH WHITENING ☺
I've used the cotton for coloring hair and bleach to remove mold on the caulk around the tub. Works better than removing and recaulking.
Has anyone had the problem of Folex not working at all? I bought it based on so many saying it’s the best ever and it was just about as effective as water. I don’t know if I got a bad batch or what.
I've used folex with mixed results. It does work well on most things.
😮
Do you have a simple homemade dishwasher powder?
No I do not…..
I have a question. My large shower has tile floor. The grout has mildew or mold in the grout lines. I’m a paraplegic and have a lady that comes to do things like that but it’s only getting worse. Please tell me the best way and what product to use to get that up. Thank you and God Bless
One more thing!! I put flour on my cheese grater and it helps to have less cheese stuck on your grater!!
I thought of just grating a slice of bread to help with that. Or really anything that kinda cleans as it is grated like a raw potato or onion would. Gone are the days I hand grate anything on a box grater. I just have a flat one that has a handle and it is much easier to clean to boot!
Great tip!
@@AndreaJean it was a wonderful thing to learn! I aways dreaded having to clean my grater!!!
Hi Andrea!, I hate the washer draw cleaning too!, I knew about Borax at it seemed to be quite well used in MS in the 80's...shame to hear that it's not the 'in' solution anymore...makes me feel SO old to realise I know what this stuff is, not to mention other things you know when you get that blank stare from the young'uns!!!...I recently got the idea that I would use my OLD electric toothbrush for the washer drawer!, Go Mandy!!, genius idea!...doing really well too until the head came off and went down that hole at the front there!!. So next time I did the wash I could hear all this clanging and grinding thinking OMG I am KILLING my machine!!, expecting it to blow up and die but it never did. The clanking got less and less and over time It went completely...no worries right?.
Forgot about it entirely. Then one day the pump wouldn't empty the machine and I called out the repair man..who. much to my embarrassment found shards of toothbrush head, gnarled up bristles etc clogging up the waste pipe!...my point is obviously, NOT to use electric toothbrushes to clean machine gubbings with!!...I don't know what it's like over there, but here you can no longer buy serviceable machines as they are all closed units now...once your machine dies you have to buy new, so that's an even bigger reason not to be as stupid as me!...thanks for this Andrea, always informative and enjoyable x
Thanks so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️
What is the best way to clean the oven to get it shiny again?
I like barkeepers friend 👍 also, hydrogen peroxide and dish soap works great too with a little elbow grease
Bleach sometimes turn my towels and sheets pink. Is this from spf left on them?
Mmmm… I have never experienced that
I ❤️ cheese & your hacks/tips! I’ll share a tip of my own….. Never trust a person who doesn’t like cheese. 😊
lol 😂
I just discovered your channel today, and I found your content very useful and easy to follow. Your delivery is naturally engaging with a hint of humor. I would however suggest that you make your video descriptions uniquely different from video to video because just by reading the title/video description, I can't tell the differences among the videos (i.e. they all read the same - "cleaning hacks you never knew" "hacks few knew about" "if I knew sooner") Plus the lack of detailed description makes it difficult to find the one video I need. Lastly, to imply that your viewers "never knew" certain hacks before watching your video is quite presumptuous and off putting imo. I think you would get a lot more views and subs if the titles were more specific so viewers can easily search a hack they need and BAM they find your channel! Hope this helps and that your channel will continue to grow.
In grout, hydrogen peroxide by it self works. Just pour or spray it on, leave until you see grout color fade, then do a regular mopping
Good to know!
🙋🏼♀️.... Andrea Jean,
"GLOVES"
What are the best gloves to buy for doing dishes and house cleaning?
They are linked in the description box 👍
Could u mix the baking soda & hydrogen perxoide in spray bottle
I would not…. Baking soda will just sink to the bottom
Great tips, as always. Here is my question. I have a top load washing machine. I heard somewhere that if I poke a hole in the pod and then throw it in the washing machine that it will separate easier and quicker than just throwing it in as is. Not sure if that’s correct or accurate I just started doing that.
Mmm…. Seems like more work than needed in my humble opinion 😍💕😘
@@AndreaJean I just keep a push pin near my pad container. Not sure if it makes a difference but it can’t hurt. Thanks for responding.
As I use the top loading washing machine, I throw the cup in, but I can see it being a problem and front loaders
I do the same on the top load washer.
OPPS! GROUT 😅
I thought you liked to use toilet cleaner for grout? Have you ever tried liquid Bartender’s Friend? Just curious.
Yes I do!! Stay tuned 👍
An appliance repair man once told me that if you can see soap bubbles in a front loader washing machine, you've put in too much laundry detergent. The machine I was using frequently malfunctioned, so I had ample time to learn from the repairman. When I used way less soap, the machine worked better...no malfunctions!
Seems like if you were going to use baking soda to clean, it would be better to use it with vinegar.
I wish you lived close to me, so you could come and help me get my house cleaned and organized! I need it so much! I've been organized my whole life, but now I'm too disabled to do anything about it... the house and car show that... and it's really pathetic! I just can't get it done! 😢
Do I need to rinse off the diy power wash? If I use on the floor, I have porcelain tiles. Thank you
Nope 👍
@@AndreaJean oh sweet! Thank you so much!
Help. Mildred removal from curtains without dry cleaning
Stay tuned 👍
How about wrinke removal from those new drapes. Always a problem for me. Even the iron doesn't like the wrinkles. Love your videos Andres. @@AndreaJean
Just add a cup of Borax to your machine (without clothes) , wash with hot water every month...this should get rid of your funky smell
I could never get down for baking soda and procsyded🧀🧀🧀🧀
Nanny... Wherever the heck my previous comment floated off to that should have said my daughter is a nanny LOL
❤️❤️❤️
@@AndreaJean I have no idea where the comment went to but I was the one who was asking about how to keep my cat from digging my clothing out of my drawers. I had child locks on the drawers but he's still got his paw down in there and dug them out. My daughter sent me a link to magnets. She's a nanny in a very affluent part of Fla near Disney World
Tiles that color uses dark grout not white
Omg. You used about 10x the needed amount of detergent. Use the cap. Measure to the lowest mark for one load. That’s about a third cup. Not the one cup you poured.
Better yet, save the environment and use powdered.
How do I keep my stainless steel refrigerator clean? I’ve yet to be able to get it clean let alone stay that way.
I use Weiman stainless steel wipes. I buy mine at Menards. They work well and not messy like the sprays. Hope that helps.
@@lindabradford9591 I will try to find them. I’ve not heard of that store. Thank you! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
@@lindabradford9591 I have Weiman electronic wipes. I’m trying it.
WD 40 works great
@@lindaprout542 really? Dang. I clean first then polish with wd -40? Does it leave a residue?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Even the liquid laundry detergent cup has measurements for different size loads
That isn’t baking soda it was the product starting to work
Omg laundry😬😬😬😬 you only need a tablespoon
You overdid it with complaining about the baking soda
Sorry…. I was a bit frustrated after 3 days of dealing with it 😆
Bisell steam shot is awesome for cleaning grout, there’s even an attachment for it. Forget the chemicals and other messy stuff.
I use Meleauca laundry detergent and it's amazing! 12x concentrated so it lasts for awhile. Most detergents bought at the store are about 90% water. Not to mention all the chemicals. The detergent I use is plant based and keavea no residue or skin irritant.
I used to put Borax into my diaper pail (remember those?).
I remember. I used Wisk in a bucket to soak the stains out of the baby clothes, then double rinsed.
I only use peroxide NOT baking soda since it is just another mess to clean!!
Me too...I use a stainless steel toothbrush that I get at Dollar Tree and it only takes 2 or 3 passes on the grout then wipe.
@@energyrep777 I will have to look for the toothbrush next time I go!! Thanks!!
@@angelapursley2811FYI it comes in a pack of 3 usually in the automotive section. The other 2 are brass(rusts too easy) and plastic bristles. Only one that works great is the stainless steel. I tried ones from Temu...they are flimsy.
First, let me say that I love your videos. I have been doing my laundry in cold water for 50 years even my whites now that we have Oxy Clean and I found my clothes last longer and fade less. Hot water damages the fibers and sets stains. I soak in Oxyclean for up to 3 days in cold water to get stains out I use a degreaser on oil and grease, if 3 days can't get the stain it will never come out not even in hot water. I do use bleach but rarely. I have a septic tank and bleach kills the enzymes needed for a septic system to work properly. Just a tidbit from an old granny. I just had my 76th birthday and I was a professional Cleaning service and caregiver for 10 years right before I retired. I am also disabled now from a car accident so your hacks have helped me a lot. Hugs.
Thanks so much Marcie ❤️
@@AndreaJean You're Welcome 😁
I use an old battery toothbrush to clean the small spaces
Former hotel manager here. Zep Grout cleaner is my #1 recommendation
Bathroom cleaner for toilet, grout, and shower curtain: fill a spray bottle 3/4 full with water, 1/4 C of bleach, and 1/4 C of dish detergent (this goes in last so it doesn't create suds). Spray down the bathroom, close the door, go to bed, and when you get up the bathroom is clean with minimal effort.
Hi Andrea, I do use baking soda, the laundry and shower floor and when my Pitbull has an accident will leave it on the stain then vacuum it up for no odors!! Borax use it in the laundry. I will try it in the spray bottle. My Grandma was my mentor on cleaning. She cleaned ppls homes. She was a good person ❤ ❤❤ Joan 😊
