I raced nothing else but the M2 for W13 and what fun it has been I find there's not much to gain revving these BMW straight sixes out - you can shift the moment the red lights appear on the dash
Daytona is one of those tracks where I definitely recommend setting up Jerry in CrewChief because he recorded all the proper corner names (e.g NASCAR 1) which Jim never got around to. Such an addictive racetrack.
I love this car. It's stupid fun and always produces good racing. It drives differently than just about every other car but I really enjoy it. I was expecting to love the 499P most in this update, but the M2 took me by surprise.
Glad to see you get through a race, the only way I could was race AI. Punted on warmup lap at Zolder, punted in the corkcrew while in second in the M2 (fun but a bit tricky car), driving seemed unusually bad. Sure hope the racers have a bit more respect when its official
The fact that W13 series aren't grid by class is so funny, they know exactly what they're doing at iRacing Also, it's crazy to me that Racelab doesn't tell you when people have slowdowns with how much it costs. I've never been impressed by them; it just looks a bit pretty.
Is there a service that provides that slowdown information? I don’t pay for any added services I just use multiple to take advantage of the free services within them.
@@underSTATEDexcellence KAPPS does, there are pros and cons to all overlays but for what it offers (and for free if you have prime) Kapps has served me well
I'm looking forward to GT4 racing this season. Some of my favourite tracks on the service, 1 shame is I'm on holiday the entire time Daytona is on the schedule. It will also tho be my cheapest season yet, I own all but 3 of the tracks
the m2 is one of the twitchiest cars Ive driven in iracing. Almost like theyve underestimated the chassis hardness in the model? How is it so unstable in both the front and the back end simultaneously at low speeds? :P Maybe the new tyre model will make it more better / more manageable? great race once again onya Dave nice race craft!!
The awkwardness of the car is what is going to bring on good races throughout this upcoming season. I also think this brings a good option for rookies and others wanting to start taking iracing seriously. Slower cars imo are the best to actually learn the tracks and have really tight racing more often than not.
It honestly really pisses me off that they don't have a class C or something Advanced series for the BMW M2 like they have for the Mazda mx-5. I really like the m2, but if I want to race in it then I have to go and drive among on noobs who want nothing more than to destroy my safety rating.
It’s an amazing car to develop their skills. Honestly once you learn the balance of this car it’s pretty easy to drive. I had a rough couple races before knocking out a couple wins.
I am a bit surprise that Frederick was able to pull away on acceleration, especially on turns 2 & 4 where to me is racing line is not optimal; unless I got it all wrong ? look how quick he was passing 2 lead cars on the back stretch when you could barely hang on to him with draft ? something smells bad here....
@@davecamyt Fredrik here, Dave, and I was running fixed set with minimum wing and tc on mdm. No suspension changes. Mdm is a lot more fun (more sideways) but also faster IMO, less tc interruption out of corners. 🙂
Dave! Just a request - it would be cool (for me, anyway!) if you showed your active pedal profile for the particular car you’re racing every now and then. Not all the details - mostly just curious about the curve and the travel. You’ve been using them a lot longer than me, so I’m guessing you’ve refined your profiles and discovered some tips and tricks since you posted your review video!

25:25 it’s not Christmas till Dave does a race in his Santa suit. 😂
Hi Dave, as usual, great racing from you, always entertaining thanks mate.
3:50 the rearview guy did the best save of the year :D

Yep, this week has been the worst I've seen it for a few seasons 🫤
Yeah if I didn’t start on pole or in second place I got punted too over this unranked week
Caught the vid early, another banger dave!

@underSTATEDexcellence Kapps does. And while it's not free, the only payment is a 1 time Twitch subscription and you keep it.

@@robbiebenson97 I’m gonna check that out, already paying for prime anyways.
Yeah you made me laugh with that response to Jim about not keeping up.
Going 2x2 into T1 was really sketchy there lol what an entertaining race.
You are literally on every car fast. I wish i would have this skills 🙈
Honestly, I just get lucky. 😁
@davecamyt he said very humbly lol

I'm almost positive the BMW has the updated tire model. Feels really good and starts to fall off after 5-7 laps just like the LMP2 does now.
Come on Dave just send it!!!!!
I'm loving the M2s

Dave whats your honest opinion on the BMW M2 CS? For me I'm not comfortable with the balance I Feel like its all over the place
I really like it. I think the awkward handling is actually what I like 😁

Does the bmw also have the new tire model i thinking yes

This car doesn't seem easier to stop than the supercars. 😂😮
Not sure if it's a right car for Rookies.

It's just setup related I guess. I was running an iRacing set with minimal changes 👍
