The trick with Spam is to serve it with something bland to balance out the saltiness. A slice of fried Spam with scrambled eggs or plain rice is awesome.
My father’s Spam recipe (he served in WWII and ate LOTS of Spam). Very simple: A burger bun or 2 pieces of toast. 2 fried slices of Spam per piece of toast. Looks delicious. When I make this dish I am going reduce the sodium a tad bit by replacing the water and beef bouillon cube with either regular or low sodium beef broth. I am not going eliminate it totally because I don’t like bland food and I don’t like the low sodium spam either nor unsalted butter. So I think the using the beef broth will give it the beef flavor and the liquid to make the mushroom sauce.
Spam is a household essential to us😁 we add it to our potatoes and eggs in the morning for a breakfast burrito.. I mean you can come up with other ideas with spam..
Here in Hawaii, we would say, WINNAS BRAH! Seriously! I grew up with spam and still eat it. Add 'more than bouillon' beef base, then drizzle scrammed eggs thru strainer...top with green onions, chili pepper water or flakes and tah-dah! Here in Hawaii they sell Furukaki, dried bono flakes, seaweed, sesame seeds and many other flavors, so yes that too. A drop of Sesame oil is also yum! You can also slide a poached eggs into that as the yolk makes it creamy. Ok den, tryum! Hugs from Maui!

Garlic rice , fried spam and eggs and coffee with cream .. boooyaaaa!!
Spam with fried egg with hashbrown patty with toasted hamburger buns...now thats a breakfast sandwich...😁
And homemade hash browns and toast and coffee!!!!!😁
Hell yeah spam and eggs 🤤
This dish, some cabbage or whatever green leafy veggies and about 3 cups of rice can satisfy a family on limited means.
Spam is so expensive where I live. It's now being sold for $4-$5 for a little can. I can get a large pack of pork or a few pounds of ground turkey for that price so i haven't eaten spam in awhile. That sure looks good though.
@@TheTruthHurts6666
Dude, that’s pricey! It’s $2.45 here at Walmart in Los Angeles.
10 can pack at sams club for under $20
@@EchoSigma6 $4-$6/can in northern Michigan...
@@TheTruthHurts6666 lollll I JUST told my girl that. $5 bucks smh. That's almost a spaghetti meal.
Wow?! I’m from Guam and we call Spam Chamorro steak and I have never seen any sort of recipe like this one??!! It looks delicious so I can’t wait to try it. Thank you for sharing!!! God bless you!! ☺️👍❤️
Another great meal idea I can try Thanks !!!
Spam fried egg on kimchi rice or white rice with teriyaki sauce
My Grandma grated spam, mixed with finely diced bell pepper, add enough ketchup to bind and black pepper to taste. She would spread this on buns, add cheese, wrap in aluminum foil and heat in the oven until warm through and cheese melts. Different but really good.
That sounds really good . I’ll have to try . Thanks
I HAVE to try this! Thank you❣️
Grandma's recipes are ALWAYS the best!
Im try that 🤗
🤢🤢🤮
@@StevieZero dude its actually yummy we have opinions
Wow I will follow this recipe.
Delicious!
Looks Yummy! Thank you!
Don't fry your spam with oil, just fry it by itself, it's already oily. It looks delicious though.
I'm kind of with you; however, he needed the "now Spam-flavored" oil to make the gravy.
I use the spam lite and you can even fry that without any oil and it still produces fat in the pan!
I've baked it with bbq and with cheese on it .
Wow super yummmy Thank You for Your Sharing Recepie From the Philippines God Bless You Always More Power Sir
@@tonyaberney156 Yummy

People don't just have spam! We'd have to go buy it!
That's great!
I love spam!!!
Looks great instead of pork chops with gravy it's spam with gravy never would've thought of this especially since I haven't had it since I was a kid! I might just go out and buy a can just to try this out!
Great video, just shows the preparation without any conversation. New fan. Vet that has ate a lot of spam and c-rations.
😊
looks yummy , have to try it for dinner tonight... thank you
That looks yummy 💙 I often use spam on pizza or in salads, and I love mushrooms.
👍🏾👍🏾
Mmm, that a a gravy looks good
I love Spam! Thank you for the recipe yummy ❤❤❤
This video gave me a stroke; but it also cured my cancer.
I fry mine in bottom of pan sliced up with onions, no oil, and build my saimin (Ramen) addiing and frying noodles like cake noodle.

So yummy.. 👍😋
Mt favorite Delicious spam💖
Growing up we weren't all that well off and Spam was cheap back then so my mom would fry up some slices and put a mustard brown sugar glaze on them like you would a ham and they were delicious!
Odd cz now tho its still yummy 🤤 not Cheap
@@pamelabrigham5605 I guess everything eventually becomes chic' and the new thing to try. My in-laws got me hooked on fried chicken gizzards (don't knock it till you tried it) and it was a poor man's meal and the stores would just about give them away. Last I looked, they'd become a delicacy and now they are demanding top dollar for them.
@@davidangelamelcher9591 my dad would buy turkey gizzard and turkey neck from the farmers market . Slow cooked in the oven , he loved them . Till today I buy and cook the necks , the memories of what mom cooked stays with me forever.
1. Grilled cheese Spam sandwich and tomato soup.
2. Do a basic ingredient fried rice. Cut the Spam into small cubes and fry them up before cooking the fried rice. Incorporate the Spam and fried rice.
Fried rice and spam is right up there with spam in macaroni and cheese yummy
Grew up on spam, love it. Only met 1 other guy who admitted to liking it, he was from Hawaii and ate it all the time.
Wow! This is amazing! Thank you for saharing, Mr. pogi, as a housewife, thinking everyday what I cook, hehehe, very helpful 👍😁Thank you👍
This looked really good. I had a Spam and red onion sandwich on toasted oat bread for breakfast this morning. Yum!
Don't eat Spam often but am learning to like the lower sodium and low fat kind. 😁
Yeah right I only buy spam lite much better with less fat and sodium
I love Spam, it is easy to prepare and delicious.
