This totally reminds me of what it was like to buy packs as a kid in the early 2000's. 90% of the time you'd get a rare because you were always buying just a single loose pack. No guaranteed ratios for buying boxes, and people had probably already weighed the packs to find the holos. Not to mention how garbage the average card (even rare) is. Thanks for sharing this; it helps suppress my urge to buy sealed product.
@@Undrave Ratio doesn't matter when you're a kid buying a single pack from a pile of random packs in a local store. I'm not saying the ratio didn't exist; I'm saying it wasn't relevant for kids buying single loose packs. We'd appreciate commenters taking the whole comment in context before replying to an individual string of words.
Lol almost nobody was weighing packs in the early 2000s. The cards werent worth anything back then. (Most of them are still worth nothing - at least in yugioh)
@@thatepicwizardguy Oh no, believe me, people talked about pocket scales back then. I was on the friggin' POJO's foruma.. It was even suggested the tip cards were there to mess with pocket scales.
@@curo. I thought you meant there was no ratio if you were buying boxes, sorry. I think that urban legend was that, in a fresh box, the foils were always in the same position but I don't know if that was ever true.
I opened a 2005 rocket warriror tin a couple of years ago, pulled a ulti wing wind blast from a 1st ed FET, didn't know 1st ed was even present in, I've since sold it but easily one of my best pulls considering it's a loose pack from a EU tin.
I opened the Exarion Universe and a DMG tin from my uncle back when I was a kid. I still have them with me, together with the beautiful promos! They were rough as any tin, but still really nice and nostalgic opening for me!
These tins were how i started my yugioh collection. Got all 6 at walmart. Wish i bought 6 more and didnt open them. They are so much more expensive now. Tough luck on these tins though Ruxin. Going to be tough to win the battle.
I know my glorious king Ruxin will triumph...in all seriousness these tins are my favorites in terms of how good they are for storing cards, the promos in them, and their design!
REMINDS ME OF THE GOOD OL DAYS. Building a deck out of 40 commons, Ultras & Supers too hard to pull/too expensive to buy so just building a deck out of what you got was the way to go.
Excarin Universe was specifically introduced to give a piercing monster to combat Scapegoat. It was at the tail end of Goat Format but I think it should definitely count as the "end cap" of the era.
The last 2 pack battles have gone Casual's way. This one - also went his way. Funnily enough, he won due to one of your nemesis Penumbral soldier lady 😅.
I think Rux might get the sweet lady luck this time. Man I wish I had the passion to get these back when I was a kid. I was busy with Bionicle. I don't have aby regrets however
Casual Yugioh stuff won this time, nice battle! But the pulls was better with he hehehe, after all, Nice!!! I love this kind of videos, good vibes and keep doing it!

Boxes had guaranteed ratio though.

I kind of miss these styles of collector tins, i liked having them be themed around some monster
those tins bring a rush of nostalgia
I loved these tins! Use to get the misprint rares in dark beginnings- had a Gaia the dragon champion called "royal oppression" 😅
2:45 i like the chatting. If i just wanted to see packs being opened id watch silent videos of it and listen to music

Hopefully they reprint one day this kind of tins from the past, the box itself looks so good and the boosters are from sets that already came out 😍
All these vintage openings are sooo nostalgic
Love the opening and pulls, I love seeing all these vintage tins! Ruxin takes it for sure!
I don't remember those tip cards being in there but cool to see. Please win!
this was cool to watch, wasnt able to pick up these tins when i was younger. Ruxin for the dub.
There's something special about tins. One of my first was the Zexal Tins with Volcasaurus

I'm rooting for you!! Vorse Raider is such a classic card, I used him a lot back when he was one of the only 4* with the highest attack :)
awesome to be a part of this great community
The 2005 tins are so nostalgic. I remember taking so long to save up for the rocket warrior one that it sold out...
Love seeing these old tins!
The old tins were always fun to open! Back then any good cards I got (or even halfway good ones lol) were epic for me!
Never seen that Dark Magician - sweet! And of course the tins are all-timers!
I know my glorious king Ruxin will triumph...in all seriousness these tins are my favorites in terms of how good they are for storing cards, the promos in them, and their design!
Yes! perfectly sized for sleeved cards
Lol you’ve seen that Naruto Unhinged huh

Nostalgia. I remember buying all the sacred beast tins
Excarin Universe was specifically introduced to give a piercing monster to combat Scapegoat.
It was at the tail end of Goat Format but I think it should definitely count as the "end cap" of the era.
These tins give me such nostalgia just finding these empty tins are nostalgic nowadays
Love the Vorse Raider promo. Looks so good!
I like *TAR* "Twentieth Anniversary Rare". ....Short Sweet and to the point
It's been quite a while since the last battle, really enjoying this series

This channel is highly refined 😂😂😂 , we are yugioh connoisseur's and will never rush vintage openings like this 😅
Love these vintage videos!
Keep up this grind man. Hope it never stops.

Just pulled 2 poly back to back in the retro pack felt the same way
The rare pulls you got were the friends you made along the way, and CYS stuff probably pulled the cards haha
youre doing great ! almost 250k
We love to see a great ruxin vid!
Ruxdundant yapping at times but always entertaining. The old school stuff is always sick to see. Lol when you regret reading flavor text.
Hey Ruxin what camera do you use for your recordings?
That Dark Magician would look good in my binder 😅
Wow the nostalgia hit so hard with this , betting Ruxin'll win!

I had that tin (exarion universe)! And dark magician girl 😅
Rough packs! Cool video and better luck next time!
More vintage lets go!

That DM QCR is nice looking for the giveaway
Give us a tin. 😁
Maji-Gire Panda’s artwork is an average Balkan dinner.
Rux you’ve got the win for sure
ruxin openings is what i live for
I like the duel formal, those tins tho 😵💫
I feel like it's been a hot minute since we had a battle
Love to see it
Man this tin design is so old school
Like most people, I would do anything to just go back and open some vintage tins for the OG prices.
