Duro has a musky damp wood vibe which reminded me a bit of Sartorial in the opening. Completely different scents in the end but equally great nonetheless.

Solid choices Steven. Excellent . I find my beloved Nasomatto is not as strong as it use to be ( I have a newer bottle 2015) I have Laudano Nero which I enjoy but also Liquides Imaginaires Fortis which is close to it, less polarizing.

Hi, Thanks for the review of the Nasomatto. I saw the documentary "The Nose" which deals with him formulating Blammage. It was such an interesting portrait of a perfumer. I would love to get some decants of his fragrances to see which one I like - I am a patchouli/vetiver kind of person. At $185 a bottle, I would want to make sure I chose one I really liked!

Thank you very much for this informative fragrance review, I really appreciate it. I only have Black Afghano atm & I am about 1/2 depleted. So I was looking to investigate other Nasomotto fragrances. Honestly. I adore Black Afghano but I rarely wear it alone, preferring to layering it sparingly with other scents. If any of the other Nasomotto fragrances smell as good as Black Aghano I would definitely be pleased but based on this review I am leaning towards Pardon.

Always Steven, I really like your methodology to make your reviews, Believe it or not, I'm more Musky, Leathery, Incense than fruity, fresh, tobacco scents which you sometimes lean on it but I pay attention when you made a trustable comment of my favorite scents.
id like to see a top 5 kilians and top 5 boozy scents. Im interested in picking up some boozy scents and I want something that is authentic. people say CH Men is a boozy mojito scent and to me it's just not. I'm looking for something that actually smells like a replica of a drink. like I think pure malt has a beautiful opening and that one is authentic. it goes away too quickly though. I've heard L'Huministe, 1270, single malt, and Apple brandy are all amazing but I'd like to hear your choices based on authenticity and performance. great video as always! looking forward to your response!

Hi! I'm not sure if you'll see this, as this is an old upload but I'll give it a shot... I just discovered Nasomatto fragrances. My first was Narcotic V, and I've sampled Baraonda, Nudiflorum, and Blamage. I'd love to get Blamage, and possibly Nudiflorum. Narcotic V was a gift from a local shop. I looked online and found that I can get the others through FragranceX at a HUGE savings versus local shop or Amazon. Are they reputable/legit? $110 vs. $185 is a great deal, but only if it's real! Thank you, if you have any input! P.S.- Your reviews are great, and now I want to try/buy all! Yikes!

I'm familiar with many of the people who work there, and they carry authentic products. However, I would stay away from websites like eBay and Wish because counterfeit Nasomatto fragrances do exist. Love my nasomatto Fragrances. I think that it is my favorite Fragrance House by Far. Pardon is still my favorite from the Line. unfortunately the old bottles are leaking as hell :-(. I don't use them that much because of this reason.
Amazing fragrances, but for the amount you get, compared to the pricing, it is nothing for the non-serious collector to aim for. 30ml for 120$ is waay too steep. Considering how fast i emptied my A*Men 30ml, spendign 120$ for this is a no-go for me.

Blamage is not that unique seeing that it smells a lot like the older CDG 2. A great fragrance though. Duro is a worthy number 1 spot! Pardon and Black Afgano share some common features. Great top 5 Steve! Congrats...
I was thinking of buying Black Afgano or Tobacco Oud by Tom Ford. I do like pungent dark smells as long as it does not smell like medicine. Can you explain how black Afgano smells like? Let's put it this way I love John Varvatos dark rebel specially the stinky opening. Is it close to that? Please let me know because I have a good deal for $130 on the black Afgano! And wanted to see if it is worth to add it to my collection. Thank you!
I know you like your oils, if you buy yourself some Norlimbanol by Firmenich you'll be able to recognise it from Blamage :) What do you think of the new Baraonda?
I tried the new Baraonda from a sample I got from lucky scent. Smells like old book paper & fruit. The scent was linear on my skin & although I enjoyed it when I first smelled it, it lasted 11 hours which kind of made me tired of it by that time. Still very interesting & unusual . Where would I wear this ? A library? I have 4 Nasomotto's but am still on the fence about Blamage. It comes off as a lighter version of black afgano which I also own but like you I have a tough time finding a day I can wear it. Maybe Blamage is the answer

I just have a question since I think your have to be ORIGINAL bottles...I bough mine from internet....is the inner bottom cavity of the bottle a perfectly symmetric arc....mine is not so symmetric...., I guess I may be seeing some of yours the same way (absinthe, Duro...).....is this lack of symmetry, if any, normal in those bottles?, thanks a lot man for any comment...I just wanna make sure I was not sent a FAKE....REGARDS
You know I really want to try that Black Afghano. I have a coworker that says he loves it and I saw Alexandria Fragrances has an inspiration of called Anubis Kiss. Have you tried that?
Anubis Kiss is really good. However, it sort of fills the same role for me as Encre Noir Extreme, so I didn't buy a full bottle. They don't smell identical, but they have the same vibe. The major difference is that Anubis Kiss has that cannabis vibe, but it's not so strong that it smells like a bag of weed. It's well-blended.
I personally think that Black Afgano doesn't smell very good. Too much hype for something not really worth seriously. I was expecting a nice hashish scent... well not at all in that fragrance, absolutely no cannabis or hashish notes as it is claimed to be.
@@Redolessence thanks for posting man, your videos are awesome. For Black Afgano for me it's a weird feel. It's like it's not bad not at all but it's strange. Strangely I got compliments with Black Afgano. It has a luxury vibe to it definitely.
Be careful wearing Black Afgano, or any other fragrance that has pot in it, especially if at the airport. I saw dogs go crazy on a guy at the airport, and he was wearing Black Afgano. The drug dogs picked it right up. As far as price, you can pick the fragrance up cheapest on Nasomatto's site. I just bought 2 fragrances there yesterday and they were 148 each with free shipping and a free sample. That's a lot better than LuckyScents $185 a bottle.
sorry...i bought the pardon and the black afgano...i have to say...NOBODY LIKED THEM !!! very very harsh, i wont recommend them to anyone, i actually sold them after one week from buying them, the black afgano smells like cheap strong plasticine and the pardon smells like a harsh church incense, for now i got acqua di gio profumo, creed aventus, and sauvage, these are the best and i get complements with them on a daily basis, and if u on a buget then get the 99% clone of aventus its al haramain l'aventure, great cent....get away from the nasomatto line

I tried the new Baraonda from a sample I got from lucky scent. Smells like old book paper & fruit. The scent was linear on my skin & although I enjoyed it when I first smelled it, it lasted 11 hours which kind of made me tired of it by that time. Still very interesting & unusual . Where would I wear this ? A library? I have 4 Nasomotto's but am still on the fence about Blamage. It comes off as a lighter version of black afgano which I also own but like you I have a tough time finding a day I can wear it. Maybe Blamage is the answer

I just have a question since I think your have to be ORIGINAL bottles...I bough mine from internet....is the inner bottom cavity of the bottle a perfectly symmetric arc....mine is not so symmetric...., I guess I may be seeing some of yours the same way (absinthe, Duro...).....is this lack of symmetry, if any, normal in those bottles?, thanks a lot man for any comment...I just wanna make sure I was not sent a FAKE....REGARDS

You know I really want to try that Black Afghano. I have a coworker that says he loves it and I saw Alexandria Fragrances has an inspiration of called Anubis Kiss. Have you tried that?

Anubis Kiss is really good. However, it sort of fills the same role for me as Encre Noir Extreme, so I didn't buy a full bottle. They don't smell identical, but they have the same vibe. The major difference is that Anubis Kiss has that cannabis vibe, but it's not so strong that it smells like a bag of weed. It's well-blended.
What do you think fits a CEO better, Duro or Pardon?
I would say Pardon because it's a bit easier to wear.
Duro smells like a cross between Gucci guilty absolute & D&G the one. It's a bit overpriced but you want strong and pow factor!

I personally think that Black Afgano doesn't smell very good. Too much hype for something not really worth seriously. I was expecting a nice hashish scent... well not at all in that fragrance, absolutely no cannabis or hashish notes as it is claimed to be.

Be careful wearing Black Afgano, or any other fragrance that has pot in it, especially if at the airport. I saw dogs go crazy on a guy at the airport, and he was wearing Black Afgano. The drug dogs picked it right up.
As far as price, you can pick the fragrance up cheapest on Nasomatto's site. I just bought 2 fragrances there yesterday and they were 148 each with free shipping and a free sample. That's a lot better than LuckyScents $185 a bottle.

sorry...i bought the pardon and the black afgano...i have to say...NOBODY LIKED THEM !!! very very harsh, i wont recommend them to anyone, i actually sold them after one week from buying them, the black afgano smells like cheap strong plasticine and the pardon smells like a harsh church incense, for now i got acqua di gio profumo, creed aventus, and sauvage, these are the best and i get complements with them on a daily basis, and if u on a buget then get the 99% clone of aventus its al haramain l'aventure, great cent....get away from the nasomatto line
