Love your recipes. As a single dude, it's pretty hard to for me to actually cook rather than just get takeout for every meal as I have for the last two years. Thanks for getting me back into the kitchen and getting me to eat healthy again. Much love from Canada!!
David Toyoda you are welcome. Cooking at home can be time consuming and tedious but if made into a habit it can have a lot of benefits to your health and your wallet!!
Sandhya - I made this dish today and it was absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much for sharing this and other recipes. Especially the Instant Pot ones! Please make many more xx
Hello Sandhya, we made this recipe tonight using Curry Cut Chicken and cooked it in our new Instant Pot Duo. Everything turned out great - very tasty, full of flavour... thank you for sharing this recipe and showing us how to cook this authentic dish xx
Blackfriday purchased Instant Pot arrived yesterday evening and this was the first thing I made. Amazing recipe! Going to try more of your recipes now. Thanks!!!
Thank you very much Sandhya. First Instant Pot, on the top of that your cooking...you made life easier...I became a cook 👨🍳. Keep posting new ones...Again thank you very much.
Your channel is so on-point with the recipes, measurement and presentation. The engineer in me appreciates precise instructions! I've tried many of your recipes, going to try this next!
There doesn't seem to be very much on UA-cam on making chicken Saag in the IP. Any thoughts? Great video btw... will definitely put that on my try list.
Sandhyas Kitchen Wonderful recipes! Thanks so much for your excellent videos! Can you consider teaching how to cook with mustard leaves, too? Sarson ka saag and Punjabi Sarson ka saag are excellent. I always get them frozen from Haldirams,, haha (but they’re not always available) I’ve been wondering what other dishes use a lot of mustard leaves, too. Methi, as well. Always looking for more and different types of greens. They’re very healing for me. Thanks again kindly
I have made this several times and it is very tasty. I like very spicy food, but I even had to tone this down a bit. I'd recommend cutting the heat to a 3rd then working your way back up. The first time I made the recipe I about killed the wife, but it was good :-) Thanks for the recipe Sandhya!
Please can you answer this question? Why don't you put onion, ginger, garlic and salt all the spice in blender. Mix it all together, then mix with your chicken, then put on pressure cooker.
It would be a completely different dish if done that way. Not saying it shouldn't be done, but that not how its traditionally made. Blending destroys texture and mouthfeel. Also its important saute onions, ginger and garlic to enhance the taste and remove the raw smells.
Great video, thank you. Curious, why did you choose to add the garam masala at the end as opposed to either in the marinade or when sauteing the gravy?
Got a new IP duo plus. But it doesn’t have the manual mode.so how do I perform the cooking like you did in the video ? Also once i turn on saute, i never get the HOT sign display. The pit gets hot though.
Asha Philip Manual Mode is the same as Pressure cook mode in duo plus. And once you turn on Saute, just make sure the LED on the Sauté button is on. It would default to normal/medium but press it till it's low.
I like this recipe - except for the fact that there is way way way too much oil! I knocked it down to 2 tablespoons. I think the recipe is much better that way.
Yes. If you can’t find any local Indian/Pakistani grocery stores, order them online through “Patel brothers” or amazon. Spices are the key to good Indian food!
I agree. This is the same process and time as that for a traditional pressure cooker. In fact, I have been trying to figure if the Instant pot helps fasten the cooking time of traditional Indian dishes which need significant amount of sautéing?
Pallavi Saxena I think even if you're right, the whole reason these are still awesome is because it eliminates the uncertainty of gas burner knob medium/simmer/low setting when following cooking instruction videos, plus whistle and stuff. It just times out and stays off so that's another advantage not having to stand and wait. For most Indian dishes, this isn't really about time saving as we always used pressure cookers. For US folks, this whole pressure cooking wasn't popular.
Sandhyas Kitchen Hi Sandhya, can you actually experiment more with those preset IP settings like poultry, steam, rice etc. (where it applies) for new dishes you try and see if that saves time and enhances the dish? I see mostly pressure cook mode doing everything, so just wondering!
I have added a list of the ingredients and the Steps in the Video's description section. Please check it out if you need a written recipe! Please feel free to customize to your taste by adjusting spice levels. For aquiring spices, use google maps to find "indian" or "indopak" grocery stores. These stores contain everything needed for making indian food and the spices/powders are usually inexpensive compared to stores like Target/H.E.B/etc.

Holy crap! My wife was surprised at how good a cook I have become.. I haven't quite told her it is because of you...
That is hilarious man! We just got one. I think I will sneakily make it when my wife is at work and tell her that I made it the authentic way :)

Rita Chawla Thank you. I always feel I could have explained more but I get so engrossed in the cooking I forget to explain. 😁

Simple Man You mean the lid with the handle right? Yes that comes with the instant pot?

Thank you so much for this recipe. My entire family loved it.
You are welcome! 😀
Can't wait to try this! I need to buy the poppy seed powder and cashew powder. Can you tell us why you add garam masala only at the end?
Easy recipe, nice tasting Curry my family loved it
Wonderful !!
Damn she is not messing around
I assume people use instant pots to save time. So, it felt counter productive to waste their time with long winded videos. 🤷🏻♀️
Great recipe, thank you 👍🏻

I have used saag(in this case Spinach) in a couple of my videos. Check them out!

ROFLOL @ "I about killed the wife". I usually recommend eliminating the thai chiies to those who dont like heat/spice.

Robert Goldman garaam masala is usually added at the end

Perfect Gurrl!!
Can you make andhra shrimp curry in instant pot.
Sure!
If I wanted to add potatoes to this recipe when would I add them and what would be the cooking time?
Shafiq Bhatia add them just before adding water and make sure the potato pieces are large otherwise they turn to a paste
Can u show gutthi vankaya curry pls
Would you get more flavours from the spices if you pan them first instead of just mixing it with the chicken?
I have noticed it tastes better when marinated first.
I like this recipe - except for the fact that there is way way way too much oil! I knocked it down to 2 tablespoons. I think the recipe is much better that way.
It's Indian cooking
My humble request please upload how to make instant beaten coffee please thank you
I didnt see your videos recently, when is next recipe coming?
Santosh V Hi!I am taking a break for the holidays!
I tried this today and followed all instructions, but chicken was raw inside. What can I do to avoid this? :(
What size is your instant pot please?
U could smile a bit🤗
How do you know how long to cook each meat chicken etc
It depends on quantity, type of meat, duration of marination, etc. Its trial and error and redo if meat is not tender enough.
I wanted to make this dish, but couldn't find half the ingredients in my local supermarket. Think I need to find a specialty Indian market.
The key to great tasting indian food are the spices!
Yes. If you can’t find any local Indian/Pakistani grocery stores, order them online through “Patel brothers” or amazon.

How do you make this recipe without using a manual button on my instant pot doesn't have one
Its called pressure cook now on newer models.
@@Dede_Stepas thanks so much
How long does it take for the chicken to cook
For a medium sized chicken 10 minutes with pressure sealed.
So much oil?
Where can I get the roasted poopy seed powdee
I have dry roasted poppy seeds in a pan until golden brown and blended them. You can find poppy seeds in Asian isles
Sandhyas Kitchen thanks I made it without the poppy seed and still came out amazing. My husband and sister loved it
Is it ok to cook without cashews? or is it going to ruin the taste?
It will still be good. Cashews elevate the flavor but if u skip them, its still good.
rajeev nuni Make sure to soak them and make it paste and add it at the end bro. Maa kostha taste vasthundi
Sri Akkineni for sure bro 😂😂😂
i only found almond powder and it seems to come out fine. The nut powder seems more like a thickener, but I could be wrong.
Defeats entire point of "instant" pot. You just cooked as normal.
She cooked it on HIGH pressure for only 10 minutes... What is the normal time to cook? 10 minutes?

Can you use poultry setting and do quick release .
Rohini Reddy yes you can do that too!
