I just got married and received an instant pot as a gift (having never cooked before!). I don’t live near any family and had to cook something for dinner. I searched for and Indian IP recipe & this was the first thing that popped up. I watched it, made a grocery list, went shopping and followed your recipe as closely as I could. My husband loved it soooo much, he wanted me to make it again the following day! Thanks for your easy to make & easy to follow recipes! I’ve watched many of your recipes that look easy/ we would like & I can’t wait to start trying them out! 🙂
Nadia Dossani congratulations and thank you for the lovely comment! It warms my heart that you found the video helpful! All the best and wish you a happy married life! 👍🏻😊😍🎊
I made this following your recipe and it was amazingly delicious. I didn’t have coconut powder, so used some coconut milk and it was so rich and creamy. Loved it! Will make it again.
I cooked this and it is very tasty. It was really simple and quick actually! I didn’t have cumin so I used a tiny bit of curry powder and I didn’t have coconut powder so I used a bit of coconut milk. I added a bit of salt and I don’t think I should have done that. Definitely the best tasting curry I’ve ever made from following a UA-cam video and the easiest too. 9/10!
I love my instant pot & always seeking new recipes to try. I also love Indian food! Can’t wait to try out your easy to follow tutorial. Appreciate you taking the time to also put everything in the description as well! TY!
Sandhya, I followed your chicken curry recipe and made it this evening but I've made a few changes: I omitted the red chilli powder and have added 5 fresh bird's eye chilli peppers, a medium tomato and 6 green cardamom pods. The aroma was so tempting that I could've barely waited to have my dinner. I had this flavourful dish on a bed of white rice and a lovely garden salad; I must say that it was very delicious! Thank you again for this wonderful recipe. I'll continue to make many more of your tasty recipes. God bless you 🙏💗💐
I tried this today and it was AMAZING! I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone. Thank you very juch for sharing this wonderful recipe. I really appreciate it.
Incredible! You are such an amazing cooking teacher. I did make a few changes based on what I’ve seen in some other recipes but pretty much followed your steps to a T. I sautéd the onions in cumin seeds black pepper small cinnamon stick and 1 bay leaf..little ghee and olive oil. I mixed red chili with smoked paprika for little less spice but it was still pretty spicy lol ... also sautéed on low at very end rather than normal after i added 1.5 tblsp coconut milk.. used about 1.5 pounds of skinless bone-in thighs. My place smells amazing and this recipe is amazing. Thanks so much for your expertise ...I love my instant pot. Chicken came out incredibly tender, wow! I garnished with mix of fresh parsley and cilantro
I received a Cosori pressure cooker for christmas and used this recipe last night. It was delicious. Thank you for this easy video/recipe. I have now subscribed. Kind regards.
Thank you so much for your IP recipes. I am from UK (basically andhra). So far I made this curry and also chicken boneless biryani from your recipes. Both came so well. No burnt bottom like other recipes I tried earlier. Hope you make more such recipes useful for us.
Many Thanks to you for these wonderful videos. I just need a tip about how to use the instapot for my chicken curry and you explained it very well. I would also add a table spoon of Fried onions to double the gravy. I must also thank you for the awesome instapot chicken biryani, I did that about a 100 times and we love the recipe...
Sandhya, I'm going right now to make this wonderful recipe; what an excellent teacher you are! I'll be back to comment on my dish. Thank you so much and God bless🙏🌹 Btw, I've already subscribed.
Sandhya I am not indian but my husband is. I decided to make this recipe because I was curious about how different this version could be verses how I normally cook it. I thought it's almost the same ingredients minus the coconut and we add tomato. I asked myself what could be so different? Hahaha I was mistaken! I used your recipe and it was different and very delicious! My husband absolutely loved it. Thanks for the great recipe ❤️ Looking forward to trying more of your recipes!!
Wanted something quick and simple this evening and this came out so delicious. Thank you for your lovely recipes. Have tried some of your recipes since we got our instant pot and really enjoyed them.
Tks a lot for this nice recipe . I like the split screen and the zooming in the pot. The English sub title very useful for non hindi speakers. Asking if we have to cover the saute first stage of cooking as not all IP are provided with a cover. Tks again Anand from Mauritius
This looks mouth watering! I'm going to make it tomorrow. Just a question: can I add potatoes to this recipe and if so, do I need to adjust the cooking time?
Hi Sandhya, I tried this recipe today and it turned out to be so well 😇.. all my family members enjoyed this thoroughly . Thank you so much for bringing so many instant pot recipes to us . You are just amazing 🤩. Just one question , how do you make the coconut powder ? Do you dry roast fresh grated coconut and then make a powder ? Please reply
You can add cashew paste. Also cook for 5 to 6 minutes at the final step with the pressure on. That would make the chicken cook better and also absorb the spices.
Sandhyas, The chicken was delicious and I would love to make it again. My family loved it. I just have one question. I’m curious why the recipe has the name curry in it, but it actually does not contain any curry. Thank you.
@@SandhyasKitchen Thanks for your prompt response. I did try the recipe 2 days ago using a non-pressure cooker. The timing was a bit of an issue because I was never sure when to add particular ingredients. But overall, it was a success! So I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart: the first time ever, I ate a delicious curry cooked by my own hands. Delighted !
We can do this with eyes closed pressurised or not , Some choose to de-glaze the Turka with tomatoes, these are basic instructions to set the stage for veggie curry’s too.

@@random9389 and this is after 'having never cooked before'. I think this alone redeems this entire video.
Finally, I found a curry that does not use tomato and taste like the Tamil curry I am so used to having back in Malaysia. Thank you so much.

Very nice chikken करी recipe ..nice vidio
I was always under the estimation that you could not use the sauté mode with the lid on. I definitely will be trying this recipe though
Natasha Robinson instant pot sells its own version of a transparent lid on amazon. I just grab whatever is handy 😁

Can you show me cooking rice and Khushi
Thanks Sandhya. Can you please let us know where do you find the glass lid ( I think it won't come with the instant pot )
You can get a instant pot brand glass lid on amazon. I use a generic lid.
Thank you for this video.pls upload more ip recipes
I know it's weird but I love the way you say "Sauté mode" :-D Greetings from Austria!
Oh no am i saying it wrong? 😬Hi from Texas!
@@SandhyasKitchen No, you're saying it in the most adorable way ever 😍
I love the look of this - I shall try it in the week but I was wondering, is there anyway of making the sauce a litle thicker?
Thanks. To make the sauce thicker, either use lesser amount of onion or in the final stage, simmer for longer so that the base is reduced further.
You could also put yogurt.
corn starch slurry.. 1/1 mixture
You can add cashew paste. Also cook for 5 to 6 minutes at the final step with the pressure on. That would make the chicken cook better and also absorb the spices.
Tomatoes can also be added to thicken the gravy
Perfect video! Great job!
Thanks!
Oh the elephants 🐘
I must try your recipe !
yummy Recipe

Mouth watering recipe 😋
Excellent...
Right on! congratulation 👍🏼
We love it!! Thanks
Thank you too!
Sandhyas, The chicken was delicious and I would love to make it again. My family loved it. I just have one question. I’m curious why the recipe has the name curry in it, but it actually does not contain any curry. Thank you.
Because curry is a mixture of spices and not one spice so her curry was made by adding in the various spices individually to her dish.
Curry is not a flavour but a type of dish made.
Go Sandy!!! Just bought insta pot and will be playing your videos back to back 😘
Valli K all the best!😋🙏🏻
Thank you very much easy clear video
Brilliant, thanks.
Can we follow your recipe and prepare this dish in an average non-pressure cooker pot?
Yes. However it would take a little longer to cook.

Hi, i liked this video and have a question for you. Is it okay to use the instant Pot with an extension cord to plug in?
yes!
Tip at 2:52, you don’t need to cancel to make it less, normal or more. Just press the sauté button and it will change ;)
Damn! That looks really good and you only set it to 2 min under high pressure without pre-marinade. I'll try and let you know how it turns out.
I tried this out last night and it turned out great! Thanks!
Amit M Awesome!!
Can I use the ninja foodi to cook the above recipe
