Great video, really shows a lot of highlights and things to look for. I would like to add, the extra amount of oil (I think 8-10 quarts) and the more expensive 5w50, the brembo brakes, and the added characteristic of being hand built means it’s gotta warm up to almost full temp before you really start driving it hard. I say this without owning one but I do have current experience at Ford
Love the sound of gt350. I was 1mm away from getting one but been a Chevy fan all my life so got a Z28. I don’t regret it, I love my Z28 but man that sound from gt350 is respect. That’s the only Ford car I like. Enjoy your ride.
bro is it a 2015ish z/28?? if so, thats a VERY worthy trade off vs a gt350.. those things are absolutely incredible, and even more rare than a 350.. I'd love to have something with an ls7 in it some day
Now there are 350's out there with the gen 2 swap already done. To check that look on the driver side and lift up the coil pack cover and there will be coding that reads Ka555AA Rep 5.2 Gt350r. Thats means the gen 2 voodoo is already swap
Carbon fiber hood isn't my thing but it adds a good contrast I love the clear tails tho I can't wait for the ESS tho (Even though I don't know what it is)
My opinion I know of 2 guys with gen 1 cars, 1 has a ruined engine and the other one smokes both guys are older and meticulous, just bad luck, when you got this car I was like…. But I said nothing cause I didn’t want to be that guy, I hope you have good luck with it, I love the Shelby cars 350 and 500, I’ve actually thought of a 350 but it would have to be a gen 2 if I do, but honestly my heart is in a Terminator that’s probably where I’m gonna spend my money, there’s just something about them ever since they came out😂 but anyway, changing the oil every 2.5-3k miles is the best way to do it, I have never really had faith in 5k I don’t care what anyone says, when my oil starts to turn I change it, usually between 2500 -2700
Enjoying your content man, Love the tripple yellow! I was looking for one 3 years ago when I got my PP1 Gt that is now making 700Rwhp I was planning on doing alot of what you have done video wise, just did not have the time! Keep up the good work. Also if you ever want to roll tripple yellow on tripple yellow let me know! I would love to do a track day! Just have to switch tires im on a radial now!
Intake manifold absolutely gives gains ecsp op top a cobra jet especially a ported cobra jet would gain power even more so if you have aftermarket cams.
You sir, have a bad/worn out clutch. I've had the same mods as you for the last 12k miles and my stock clutch doesn't slip at all. My guess is the previous owner prematurely wore it down. Also, while your hood looks great, if you were going to spend the money on a new hood, you should've gotten the GT500 style hood with the larger vent. With LTH's, there's a lot more heat under the hood and the larger vent would help expel that (ask me how I know 😉). Your car is not going to enjoy the upcoming Texas summer, especially if you add boost. Enjoying the content, keep it up!
I know the clutch is worn out and I personally don't like the look of the GT500 hood on GT350's. I'm not putting the blower on the car until after summer for that exact reason hahaha
You forgot to mention important details on how the pistons rings were installed backwards from ford and that’s why ford makes you buy a warranty when purchasing a gt350 that’s why they have oil consumption issues
Please provide any evidence of Ford installing the piston rings backwards. Also, Ford does NOT make you buy a warranty. Don't put bullshit out on the internet.
It's pretty easy to swap out but I hear you I'd prob want sync 3 I have it in my 16 fiesta st which is my daily and having android auto on it made me get a new pioneer deck for my 07 gt500 just to have android auto as the pioneer screen it had when I bought it in 2020 was older and did not have android auto capabilities. It is great.
Ehhh who cares bout the screen it’s jus a screen not like if you gonna have some high tech Tesla shiii 😂love this car trying to make it my goal to get this baby 😍😍
Not sure! Might do the install myself actually bc I will have a much bigger garage around the time I put the ESS Kit on. Probably get the fuel system and tune done my Midnight Performance bc I'm going Lund.
Rings in the 2015 to 2017 were looser. In 2018 Ford changed the rings to be tighter and burn less oil. In 2019 and 20 got the gen 2 block but people forget that in 2018 they got the tighter rings which burns less oil. Its not a Gen 1 to Gen 2 thing that fixed it. It was 2018.The Gen 2 block was only used because of the Gt 500. It was saved on production costs why it was done. Made no sense to have two blocks...it wasnt NOT a reliability issue. To many regurgitated "experts" spewing their knowledge they don't have. Ford doesn't even acknowledge a Gen 1 or Gen 2 difference
2018 have the potential to have same issues as the 16-17. I know about the 5.2 predator block but the amount of HP needed to crack that is to the point 99.9% of owners won’t ever reach that let alone want.
@EarsPOV Post or send link where your getting your information from. Besides the Gen 1 vs Gen 2 debate nobody has any information. 5.2 is a race motor and many early cars blew because of the lack of maintenance needed compared to 5.0. Besides internet experts post information on stats of 2019 2020 cars. Let's see its a Gen 1 vs Gen 2 thing. Send link
Ford switch rings in 2018 and later 2017 cars went away from the screw on oil filter and to the canister of the later cars. Many early cars blew up again to lack of knowledge because car was new and the two that rings were loose and oil filter was vibrating off. Ford fixed those problems prior to 2019. 2018 is just as reliable with the Gen 1. Is the Gen 2 a better block? Yes but doesn't have anything to do with reliability unless car is boosted. People just regurgitating same info that they hear from the last guy who also doesn't know. 16s and early 17s Yes you should have some concern but it's for other reasons not because of the Gen 1 nonsense
Me knowing I’m a 16 year old that can’t afford a GT350 and just started learning to drive 2 years ago: seems useful!
I was watching the same vids when I was 16 too hahaha
I’m lucky enough to have a GT350 at 18😂

Gotta be a little careful with the 16s and early 17s because of the oil filter
My dad bought a gt 350 with 12k miles on it. It’s a 2016. Should he be very carefull because he knows all the story’s of the cars blowing up

awesome vid. I see a 2020 gt350R for sale with 27k miles on it on carmax for only 60k!

The cost to go FBO CJ & Cams is more than boosting the car with a G3 ESS Kit. A lot more haha

🔥🔥🔥
Why a 350 why don't you go with the gt 500 more power
Cause some people prefer manual over the 7 speed dual clutch transmission. And your talking about a big price difference
I don't think people realize that haha they see "Shelby" and think everything is the same
Different cars with different purposes.
What shop are you going to go to for boost?

This would explain why the 2016/2017 have piston slap when cold. Do the 2018s have it? I would think not if what you're saying is correct.
