This is just an amazing song that I never tire of. Jakob is a intelligent songwriter with a haunting voice. Have seen The Wallflowers a couple of times and plan on seeing them this month at the Paramount in Huntington, NY. A totally underrated band, as Jose says. Jakob's father must be proud.
It has nothing to do with THIS song; but i just wanted to tell you i grew up next door to Huntington in Northport. Saw the original Allman Brothers band with Duane at that very same venue, summer of 1971, two weeks after the now-classic double Fillmore East album came out. From what i can tell, the Wallflowers certainly approach that level of musicianship. Hope you enjoyed the show! Wish I coulda been there, too!...lol
This melancholic song, full of metaphors and euphemisms is just deep, beautiful, special and bitterly true. I played it day after day and I don't get bored. Thank you guys!
I love this video, how the song gives a magic feel to the clip. I love the lady in it, how happy and excited and hopeful she looks. So what if she's chubby and not that young? How many of us can feel that happy with ourselves? "The hardships of marching they've only just begun/ Love is a country better crossed when you're young" The feeling this video gives me is that she made an actual choice to be seek out her own happiness. She's not young anymore, but she's marching. :)
Great song from an album that I'm still getting to know; an album can be like a friend! I love the Wallflowers. I own all their music. I love Jakob's two solo album; Woman and Country from 2010 will age like wine!
While "One Headlight" still sits firmly entrenched at the top of my Wallflowers playlist, this one is certainly right up there with it. I remember hearing it somewhere like Pandora or something in my mix after this first came out and I was like, "Is that Jakob Dylan!?" And much to my surprise, it was and this is a song I still keep coming back to 6 years later!
"I'm watching the clouds overwhelming the evening sun It's just after lightning and before thunder comes When nothing happens and suddenly it does Love is a country you better serve with someone"
Huge fan of this highly underrated band. Love from India. Started following them from the 90s when their music video "Heroes" from the original motion picture soundtrack for the film Godzilla (1998) went viral on MTV. Wallflowers songs on a long drive feel so amazing, got so much depth and meaningful lyrics. Excellent artists they are.
Another WF classic. Breach was one of their most underrated releases but Glad All Over is not too far behind. So universal the principle of "strike while the iron is hot." You only get one shot and it's when you're young and wherever you are in this world the love in your heart, personal beliefs and who you know yourself to be is greater than any nation, government or external circumstance in your way. I could have done without seeing Jakob looking like Adam Yauch in Beastie Boy's Sabotage but the rest of it is nothing but good. P.S. Cyndi Lauper has really put on some weight.
@@ben-ladenbernanke5374 -- Agreed, the story that "It Feels Like Summer Again" tells about "Bringing Down the Horse" and "Breach" are fantastic if you follow the lyrics. "I buried my horse in a shallow grave, I said a few things, I had champagne. That beast gave me everything that nobody gave ... I just found out my bird can really sing." Friggin' brilliant!
I was listening to wallflowers when the casset tapes was out and i was young and had their tape so yes i love the wallflowers the band been with me since i was growing up..seen them on tv preforming awesome loved all the songs they sang especially one head light :)
Met a gorgeous stripper who slow danced to this song on stage towards me and ignored the rest of the bar patrons. We dated for awhile then she disappeared on me. I found this cassette in my car which reminds me of her. Nostalgic times 😸🌌
Look. It takes a dad a voice and a band. Blood Lineage DNA AND A FUCKING KILLER BAND!!!!! Yep a fan since…. THERE ARE NO BAD WALLFLOWER SO GS. YEP. JUST Sayin
awesome vid. makes me think of jakob's something good this way comes video. the song is so good too. awesome ass lyrics. i love me some wallflowers music!
#TheWalllflowers Great Song "Love is a Country" and I from time to time have noticed Bob Dylan Way It's a Street Sign, Can You guess Where ? Jakob Dylan !
Can anyone help me with the interpretation of the video? I think it is about the lady taking a cab back home (or a memorable destination) while reminiscing times when she and the guy (with the cowboy hat, assumed to be long lost or died? Because she ended up crying at the end of the vid?) were used to be together, while taxi goes through places where he also passed by before. Legit?
It is a CRIME how underrated this band is.
Right??
no kidding, there is no drink afternoon without listening them for me.
like how is there only 616 million views?
This was directed by Jakob's son, James. He was 15 years old when he directed this.
Directed by James Dylan. Both brothers have much talent.
James is actually Jakob's son. He was 15 when he directed this.
Wow. This is my favorite Wallflowers Song. Transcendent.
If radio was better this would have been a huge hit
The problem is
The "New music" is a trash!!!
Because now is very common
Do whatever thing reducing cost and quality, that is the problem
Amen to that! Awesome song!
This is a really good song but certainly no "hit." It doesn't have mass appeal.
I’m older than you Mikel. Trust me it would’ve been all over the radio. More on FM it’s true. Beautiful deep and catchy. Xxxx

I saw his dad in the 80’s
This melancholic song, full of metaphors and euphemisms is just deep, beautiful, special and bitterly true. I played it day after day and I don't get bored. Thank you guys!

Getting closer to his father's sound, and a more Knopfler-esque voice ,it sounds amazing.
His voice is just awesome....

New Orleans jazz fest 2024! Can't wait to see The Wallflowers!!
I am a huge fan of all their albums but I would have to say, this song stands as one of their most gorgeous. I absolutely love this.
Daniel Stewart Fully agree. This tune is remarkable and beautiful in so many ways.

This song touches my soul and gives me hope💖
"There's more work than ever and still only one of me.... to get it done!"
This song is so amazing that I can't put my thoughts into words.

Dylan is illin, fulfilling his billing, filling the pavilion and chilling god willing!
"I'm watching the clouds overwhelming the evening sun
It's just after lightning and before thunder comes
When nothing happens and suddenly it does
Love is a country you better serve with someone"

Wallflowers = Music and Love

Love your music so much. You are a beautiful soul with a gift that transcends generations. ♥️

I think that *Breach* and *Red Letter Days* are the masterpieces, with the rest being merely excellent.
Yeah RLD had some stunning chords and deep lyrics too.
"How Good It Can Get" is a truly great, classic rock song. Why it is almost unknown I do not know.

MVP OZONE o//
Everybody saying his voice sounds like his dads, but actually kind of sounds like Mark Knopfler.
I agree, and a little like Tom Petty's phrasing.
To many few views for a great song. Please, keep up!
