Thanks for watching! The young community is primarily stuck on L plates with 125s. And it's because getting the license is age-restricted which makes it quite expensive to progress; and then life gets in the way. Waiting until A2 is definitely worth it, though one day I am sure I will get the full license. Maybe I'll make a video on that topic.
Appreciate you stopping by the channel.

Loved your video. I started riding two years ago at the age of 56 by passing my obligatory courses and tests. I’m in Canada and the courses and full road tests can take over a year to complete. But, it was well worth it. I’ve always had a passion for everything mechanical and the motorcycle is the perfect evolution of that. When I ride my bike, I instantly become more aware of everything around me and it awakens sensations that have been dormant all my life. I feel completely alive and free. I guess we need a little danger every day to truly live.

    • @TheYoungFilmmaker
      @TheYoungFilmmaker  14 днів тому

Really well said. My tests and courses took a couple of months, not including the compulsory bike training for learner plates here in the UK, and remember being quite tired by it all and the costs.
But now that I can ride a bigger bike anytime it all feels worth it and I am so glad to have persisted.
Keep on riding and greetings from Cornwall to Canada 🕊️

I almost never leave comments on UA-cam videos, but I have been really reeling towards motorcycles for the last few months and this video speaks volumes in emotions and hits me differently. I've always been a car guy since the time I've learnt to speak, and never thought of bikes as anything more than troubling commuters. But being in college, watching the other guys taking their hand-down bikes from their dads, taking care of these beautiful machines like a comrade and enjoy all commutes - long and short on these bikes, makes me really own a bike. I watch biking videos and reviews of my favorite bikes alsmost everyday, and wish to upgrade to one the moment I get a job. I am 20, and didn't have a father (which I don't regret) for most of my life to make me understand the thrill of riding a bike. Since I was 13, I have always rode my mom's scooter, which I own now and have clocked nearly 30k kilometers on. Mom always says that she wants to buy a newer scooter for me and doesn't want me to ride bikes as it's a common notion in my country that gearless two wheelers with no safety features are somehow safer than geared ones with bigger wheels and better braking. I wish to buy my first bike by the end of 2025, and have my eyes on the Triumph Speed 400, if I am able to get a job to sustain the machine. And if it's too heavy on my pockets, I have thought of getting the TVS Ronin 225 - a very able machine with better economy, with no compromise in fun whatsoever. Anyway, I'm leaving this comment here to ensure that by the end of the year, when I am sitting somewhere and this video has blown up, I probably might get reaction notifications on my comment and check how my teenage journey has been, and how much I have grown in a span of a year. Hope I'll be on two wheels, smiling down at my phone, and taking a sigh of relief and joy. And in case I am not, then I'll still be happy because I know I'd have given my best. :) Wishing your channel great success ahead!

I wasn’t really interested in motorbikes but got one when I was 18 for travel to university because it was the only way I could afford to travel. But it gets under your skin and biking feeds the soul like nothing else. 40+ years later I still feel the same and am still riding. I bloody loved this video, first off the production quality, the colour-grading, the cinematography is absolutely amazing! I loved how you laid out the different intricacies and short comings of being a motorcyclist along with romanticizing the life of a motorcyclist. This is the type of content I've come to expect from bigger youtubers like Fortnine but you've been able to give us the same experience! Keep them coming and ride safe !

Hi mate, great video. From Belfast here, a word of advice for anyone reading - Bike theft is inevitable, you will at some point have someone try their luck. After riding and parking my bike in the city centre for years I’ve come up with some good pointers.
    1. Quality locks - speaks for itself really.
    2. Covers - keeps the eyes off your bike and makes it less likely someone will sit on it for a photo, potentially knocking it over.
    3. Park it somewhere it can be seen - sounds contrary to 2, but if your bike is being stolen the chances of someone stepping in on the street compared to an alley are far higher.
    4. Always use your steering lock - insurance won’t pay out if you don’t!
Had my bike vandalised after an attempted theft in 2022, wish it never happened but it taught me a lot. Please heed my advice, it will save you a lot of headache!
    Thanks.
    3.

Following Itchy boots, her bike got stolen, thankfully she had 2 security tracking chips in her bike.they found 1 but not the other.she did get her bike back but they had cut all her wiring.and tried to pull it down the street because they couldn't figure out how to kick start it

Lovely video, Luther. Just about sums up what it means to be a young biker.
I came at it from a dad who was obsessed with bikes, so started in a field on a monkey bike in the 70s at the age of 5. My mum put the skids on me getting one on the road at 16, having lived through my dad’s near and not-so-near misses on and off road, but I bought my first road bike in my early 20s, and having no money, ran about on some ropey old 250s and 500s for many years. As they are for you now, they were my sole mode of transport for at least a decade, length and breadth of the country, come rain or shine. I finally got my first new bike in my early 30s, a ZX6r that i cherished. Great times.
You’ve hit the nail on the head about biking, and imbued the high and lows and pitfalls, all wrapped up in a lovingly shot and compiled video. You even manage to capture the nostalgia of a man in his 50s now, with too many bikes in the garage, so keep up the good work.

In the U.S., you can get your license at 16 any cc. At 14, you are even allowed to ride a moped in most of the states, so you really can get started really early. My favorite bike is so for as been the honda grom! Out of all the bikes I've ridden zx14r, s1k, the 600cc the grom holds a special place for me! I've got 50k miles on the thing now, and she is going 💪

Luther - great video - ironically came to me via beeline - who I think are not great, (I have the MK1), riding a motorcycle is a very special thing to do, I test for a dealer group, and my long rides are really very ‘zen’. I tell all my young instructors who get their first bike ‘go out and ride like you are a WW2 Spitfire pilot: imagine the enemy are all around - NEVER take your eye off the ball - even for a second’ - then you will make it to a million miles like me. Good luck, ride safe x

London must be quite stressful at times. I rode into the city once for an event, ended up hitting a taxi driver's mirror, but we both laughed it off.
Whenever I see someone with a nice bike I ask them for some security tips!
Safe riding and thanks for watching.
