hi.. Given that I have been approve for stamping my passport with this visa today, when will the 1 year count start? will it start upon stamping or upon arriving in Germany?
Great video! It took 5 months for me to get recognition for my Brazilian University certificates last year. It includes the time it took to send documents through mail from Brazil to Germany and the extra documents they asked in the process, which luckily they accepted through email. My tip is, if you want to come to Germany, start this recognition process as soon as possible, because 1 month after I received my recognition I applied for a job in Germany and actually got it, and to have the certificates ready was a huge time saver and made visa process easier.
@@simplegermany hi could you please share the details of how I can get my 4 years of bachelor's of engineering recognised before June? Any website where I can apply. And just checking the annabin website and taking a screenshot of the the recognition would be considered or not? Because I checked online and my university degree in bachelor's of engineering is recognised in Germany as per the annabin website. Secondly I would like to know the difference between professional qualification vs the degree which you mentioned in the table of Chancenkarte vs job seeker visa, does it mean 4 yrs bachelors vs 3 years bachelors in India is equivalent to professional degree vs just a degree?? Please explain.. I am confused. Thanks in advance for all your support ❤ you both are awesome 😊
@aliscode2386 I applied for a researcher position in an University. I did not apply with German language certificate simply because it was not required for the position and also because Brazil and Germany apparently have an agreement that citizens do not need to learn the language to get a work visa. I highly recommend to learn at least B1 German to live in the country, as not everyone is willing to speak English, especially in government departments depending where you live.
Neat and crispy, while other UA-camr were in a hurry to post the video months back with inaccurate information! Thank you Jen and Yvonne for taking your time and sharing much accurate information ✨
The problem is not that you can get a permit or license to work in Germany; the problem is finding an apartment, especially if you’re moving there with children. If you’re single or a couple with only a dog, then you’re going to have an easier time finding a place inside city limits and very enjoyable time moving to Germany. Otherwise, it will be extremely hard.
the explanation is very good. Every detail is explained in the video. Thanks, I got an idea from your video. I'm from the Philippines and now I'm working here in Bucharest Rominia. This is probably my year. to apply in Germany. thanks again 😇🤗♥️
Thank you, Simple Germany, for the excellent video! The content about 'Chancenkarte' provided a lot of valuable information. It truly motivates aspirants, and I haven't seen such a detailed explanation of point scores before. I look forward to seeing more on this topic in the future. Thank you again!
My first time of watching your educative video. You guys are doing a great job. I want you guys to continue with the education as soon as the opportunity card law is implemented.
Your graphics and animated flowcharts are amazing. This must a have been a ton a lot work to produce, but so helpful for breaking down the info. Vielen Dank!
INFORMATIVE AND WELL EXPLAINED 🥰 I just have some questions which hopefully could be covered in the next video (if there is) once Germany gives out more information regarding this visa. 1. What would be the average processing time for this visa? 2. How to show proof of work experience, like what kind of documents are valid. 3. What kind of health insurance (public or private etc.) Thank you!
1. Depends on your German mission 2. Letters of recommendation or similar 3. Private/Expat for the visa and while you are looking for a job - change to public or private once you have a full time job.
Great video. But I still thing that those requirements are really hard to accomplish. I mean have a Blue card, but I'm thinking more in the real need of Germany for new workers, and the little flexibility in their bureaucracy and their culture to adapt themselves to immigrants.
Based on my experience, if you don't have the mentioned financial means for each visa and a certificate of language proficiency (even though you can speak at the level of B2), you cannot migrate. That's why millions of people immigrate ille/ally every year, and when they reach any European countries, the government exempt them from paying for anything but you, the legal migrant, should pay thousands of Euros for every simple tasks you need to be done. For example, I don't have Euro12,000 to be deposited for this visa, and although I speak English fluently (for a country like Germany that no one will respond to you in English), I don't have Ilets or Toefel certificate, each of those certificates needs at least $250 to be paid and it takes at least three months to be completed.
Great job! I loved how you explained it! I’ve two important questions: Can you please talk about how can the visa be exchanged once we get employed in Germany? And whether can we get “any” job to exchange it or it needs to be in the field related to my degree with a minimum wage?
Thanks! 😊 You 'exchange' it by applying for a work permit with your local Ausländerbehörde once in Germany. To our research and knowledge, your university degree must only correlate with your job for a Blue Card. But for a general work permit it doesn’t have to. Jen’s degree never correlated to her role and she also never had a blue card.
Great video, thanks a lot! I have couple of questions if you can please answer, that will be great. 1. How do I get my qualifications partially recognized (as mentioned fully recognized takes time so not considering that) to get those points? 2. I have both bachelors and masters. Do I need to get them both recognized? 3. Do I need to get work experience recognized too? Or just the offer letters from the companies when I joined will work?
You can find links to the governmental recognition website and Anabin database in the description of the video to check whether your qualifications need recognition or are comparable. Usually your higher degree matters. Letters from the companies should be fine, but only your local German mission can tell you exactly what you need to provide.
You guys are really good in this. My favourite channel for Germany 😊Thanks for your contribution and hard work. Btw to be sure my degree and my university from turjey is fully recognised in anabin database. I dont need further recognition. just the SS from the database right?
From FAQ. As a foreign IT professional, you do not need to have a university degree or formal vocational training to obtain the “EU Blue Card”. Only “non-formal qualifications”, i.e. two years of professional experience (at academic level), must be proven by a certificate from the employer, for example. Hallo! Thank you so much for your videos, they have been so endlessly helpful and engaging - you guys are the best!! Not sure if you guys will know the answer: If you are applying as a citizen of a country for which English is the official language (the U.S., in my case), do you still need to provide a language level certificate to obtain the points for English fluency, or will that automatically be granted based on your nationality? Hi Simple Germany, I love your videos about Germany and visa but would love to point out one small bits. I hold a job Seeker Visa and in my visa it is mentioned that I can work for minimum 10 hours per week.
Your video is still the best I have seen on Chancenkarte. Though, still am not clear after reading all comments and videos that 1) If my uni and degree is in Anabin database, then I am fully recognised. Right? 2) If my degree or uni is not in Anabin, and I get it recognized from Zab and gets the right equivalency i.e positive report, then I am also fully recognised. Right?
We will do an extra video on the whole riddle of Anabin and recognition in the future. To answer your question briefly: 1) both your exact degree AND university need to be listed in Anabin. 2) as far as we understand yes, as along as your profession is not regulated in Germany.
@@simplegermany thank you so much for your response. Surely, appreciate your efforts. More power to you girls. I will be looking forward to your next video
Thank you for this detailed explanation, very helpful. my question is in the language eligibility, one is supposed to have prove test for german languge and english IELT test as well. or is it just one of the 2 of them. that is to say, if i have only IELT test am i eligible?
Can you elaborate on vocational training please? What qualifies for vocational training according to this route? Do you still not have a chance if you have worked in the same line of work as what your university degree was based in? Also when you say university degree you mean bachelors or masters?
Vocational training refers to an education/qualification instead of a university degree. To know whether your university degree is recognized you can watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/vG-TWow4Igg/v-deo.html
Absolut fantastishces und Information- reich Video. Vielen Dank Jen und Yvonne. I had no idea about getting the degrees ‘recognized’, by Germany. Looks like that would be the first thing I need to get done.
Thanks to you, I feel very prepared to move to Germany this September. :-) Dankeschön~ Edit: I used the calculator, which showed I got 6 points, so I'm confident in my chances.
You can wait 6 months and reapply for job search visa. I had one and found a job in Germany and now i coach people occasionally to so the same (within the same program that brought me to germany) What certificates do you posses and in what field? (University degree? Bachelor? Masters? Engineering?)
If my university and programme are in the ANABIN database do I just need to print that out and my degree is considered recognised? Seems really easy.😅 Thanks for the answer!
Tolles Video! Bitte eine Frage . Meine Uni ( Apotherker aus Indien) ist anerkannt in anabin. Kann ich Approbation bewerben? Wie ist möglich bitte machen Sie ein Video. Danke für beide .
Just follow the steps as we show in this video: ua-cam.com/video/vG-TWow4Igg/v-deo.html. The example we give for a doctor should work exactly the same for an Apotheker 😊
Hi, thank you for the information about the Chancenkarte. I'm from the Philippines, I'm just curious-if I pursue a degree in a distance learning (online) from a German university recognized by the German government, would I be eligible for the Opportunity Card automatically? Hope to hear from you. Cheers!
Is there a points deduction for age? I am an American in my mid-forties, and I often find that many countries simply want younger people in this situation. It can be frustrating as middle -aged people have lots of skills and experience to bring. Great channel and information! 👏Cheers from the U.S.!
just curious about jen’s use of her life as example for why she can’t apply! couldn’t you qualify just because you have a university degree alone? even without matching work experience? (just as long as it’s at least partially recognized in germany and if you meet age and language and financial requirements as well) i thought the vocational training is just another option for the “professional qualification” if you don’t have a university degree!
In your example it's correct. In our example we wanted to make the point in the case that Jen's degree is not recognized. Since she doesn't have work experience in the field of her degree, she wouldn't qualify.
All the information was clear I just need to ask you for the language requirements A1 for German or B2 for English. But for scoring they gave scores for C1 and above. Secondly, my wife is also graduated and degree fully recognized and don't have any work experience as well as Language. Can I apply with spouse.
Hello from Bangladesh @simplegermany , you guys are great describers. I have few questions, pls answer: 1. I have wife and 1 child, how will I apply for opportunity card & how much money to show in blocked Account? 2. My wife is doctor, is she needs to ZAB?
Thank you for this video! 2 questions: 1- If both my university and degree are listed as recognized in the Anabin database, I don't have to go through with this recognition process that you mentioned could take months or a year, correct? 2- What qualifies as proof for the work experience? I'm technically a freelancer but have been working for the same company for almost 2 years now. Is a letter from the company I'm working for sufficient or do I need insurance papers etc which I don't have?
1. We believe so - yes! 2. Your local German mission will need to decide. But we would say a letter of recommendation stating the time span you worked etc should be accepted.
I have a question and can't find answer online, maybe you can help. I am citizen of Georgia, we have visa free entry to Germany so we can visit Germany for 90 days. Do you know if I can apply for chansenkarte while being in Germany as a visitor?
I have a doubt, Let's say I have IELTS academic certificate with me already. Will that be considered for English proficiency or I need to get IELTS - General Training certificate for Chancenkart ? Kindly let me know if anyone knows the answer
Thank you for this amazing information. Is it possible to apply for the chancenkarte while working in my current remote job in Germany until I find a German based job?
Through Statement of Comparability at Zab, my degree in US is equivalent to German degree. Also, I can see my Uni is H+. However, based on ZAB, It is not a professional recognition and therefore does not entitle its holder - especially with regard to German recognition authorities - to receive a formal equivalency. Could you explain what does fully recognition and partial recognition mean? Every website is not showing clear explanation about this. Thank you for your video :)
Planing on doing a video on that, however the ZAB and Anabin listing should be enough. The formal equivalence is only needed for regulated professions.
1) I took the general IELTS test on the 21st Jan 2021. And, Can I Submit the same English test report when I apply for an opportunity card in Jan 2024? 2) how can I look for part time job for opportunity card visa? Please clear my doubts, I really appreciate it. 2)
Thanks so much for the video! I haven't been able to find some details on the Chancenkarte so I was wondering whether you've come across it: 1. Regarding the proof of funds, would a Verpflichtungserklärung also be an option? As far as I understand, this is currently an option for the Job Seeker's visa. 2. Since you can only apply for this from June onwards, do you know if it would be possible to apply for a Job Seeker visa first and then apply/change it to a Chancenkarte? The timeline seems a bit risky and it's not clear yet how long the process might take since it's a new thing, so someone who is already in Germany for 90 days might run out of time. 3. For a bachelor's degree (in the IT field) that is showing as H+ on the Anabin database and the language is in English, the only thing needed is a screenshot of that and no other lengthy recognition process?
@@simplegermany Hi there, Great explanation. Just have one question re. the 3rd point. My degree is in a similar situation in terms of Anabin database. So the question is attaching a screenshot of it while applying for the opportunity would be enough, right? No recognition required?
Thanks for an amazing video. Can I get a clarification of one thing? When I have a fully recognized university degree but the degree is not related to my work (IT), Can I go with the path 1? I was wondering since I have never seen it being specified as such.
Great video, and thank you! What do you mean by "Vocational training"? Am I qualified? I have a 4-year Computer Science degree, which includes a one-year internship. Currently, I have 3 years of experience as a developer, so am I entitled to it? I don't have an A1 German exam certificate, by the way. Do I need to take a B2 English exam, even though my degree is afflicted from UK University? And also my partner is from Germany, and we will get married by the end of this year. Could my partner or my father-in-law sponsor my visa? Which would be the easiest way to get the visa, considering my partner doesn't work yet?
This video is great and really helpful. Thanks for your efforts 💪 I have a question, when we got job offer, do we still need company sponsor to convert Work Visa or EU Blue card with this Visa?
Hi Jen and Yvonne, thanks for the very informative video. Quick question, do you know if I already receive a job-seeker visa and currently already lived in Germany, am I still eligible to apply for the Chancenkarte? My job-seeking visa duration is running out and this new scheme would really be a solution. Thanks again! ❤
Please please advise me, my university is H+ and my degree is “Entspricht”. So that means I should be fully recognized…right? My question is Do I still have to meet the A1 German or B2 English and proof of funds conditions??? Please respond. Thanks a million for the informative video.
In the video there is no information about what Fully Qualified Degree means. But in the simple germany website it is mentioned that if you get diploma comparability certificate from the ZAB (or maybe other organization) you degree counts as fully recognized, did understood it correctly?
Thank you for the video, so helpful! Is there info on family members? I know previous job seeker would require reunification, which mean my fam would have to wait for me until i found a job. Does chancenkarte allow me to go with them even for the job search portion? Thank you again!
Very informative. can anyone here tell me that Is chancenkarte is minimum for year or can we apply for 6 months only if falling short of money for blocked account?
Hi Jen and Yvonne, new questions popped up in my mind. When applying for a visa I guess we need to provide the town/city name that we will be while looking for a job. AFAIK embassy then sends visa application documents to the foreign office of that city. My question is, if one finds a job outside of that city or even outside of that state will it be approved? There might be some kind of restrictions regarding finding a job in a different state.
As an EU national, I feel it every day can that Germany sincerely welcomes the foreigners who will learn the language, commit to the country and eventually become German.
I have six years of work experience in web development and have completed a master's degree in the same field. Is it mandatory to submit a language certificate for the Chancenkarte?
Thanks for the detailed info. I have 1 question though. If I am applying with my spouse , who of course qualifies for it, we have a 2 year old son, do we need to show blocked statement for him too ? or 2 blocked account are enough to support our application?
Hello, I am from Gambia and reside in Italy. Is it a requirement to submit a TOEFL/EILTS certificate when the official language in Gambia is English, and I also did both my bachelor's and master's in English? Thank you.
Hi Firstly great video :) My university degree is listed as H+ on the Anabin website, and my degree is equivalent to German standards. Does this mean my degree is fully recognized, or is there another way to verify this?
Not with the Chancenkarte directly, unless your spouse qualifies for it as well. Family reunification visa is only possible once you have a full time job and work permit as far as we know.
Is the 20 hours per week limit restricted to my degree or profession that I got the visa for? Or am I able to work a casual job for 20 hours per week until I get a job in my own profession? This would be very helpful to improve our German language skills while we are searching for a job.
Great video! What happens next, after you get a full time Job in Germany with this visa? Do you apply for a different visa that allows to work full time or something else? Thanks for sharing ❤
Great video!! Thanks a lot for that. I have a question: what source confirmed that the part-time employment can be any job even if not in your education area? I haven't seen it clearly confirmed on the sites I read. You're actually the first source I see that explains that.
Please regarding the education and work experience if I have management international licence and in th past 5 years I am service desk which is different I still have some point ?
Could you please confirm whether certification of English language proficiency is still required for Opportunity Card, even though my university (H+) and degree (recognized as equivalent to a German degree type) are fully recognized in Germany according to the Anabin website?
Hi Simple Germany!! You have done an AMAZING job with this video!! Thanks for such a DETAILED explanation. I have a question! Is Tofel ITP certification accepted for the? Also, the German embassy of where I reside states that ANA-Bin recognition counts as "fully recognition" so the first way. I wan wondering if you could confirm or know how to find the answer. Thank you!!

Interesting. The resources say you can only work those 10 hours as part of a trial period for a full-time employment.

Absolut fantastishces und Information- reich Video. Vielen Dank Jen und Yvonne. I had no idea about getting the degrees ‘recognized’, by Germany. Looks like that would be the first thing I need to get done.
Vielen dank❤
Thanks to you, I feel very prepared to move to Germany this September. :-)
Dankeschön~
Edit: I used the calculator, which showed I got 6 points, so I'm confident in my chances.
how do we know if its educational qualification is partially/fully recognised ?
By watching this video about recognition and following the steps we mention: ua-cam.com/video/vG-TWow4Igg/v-deo.htmlsi=0-y3zXCP7cf5FGuV 😊
Best and great explanation
i wonder if there will ever be a video in german, Jen particularly! :)
Maaaybee 😉
I would like to know if with this visa I have to find a job in my degree? Or I can work in my experience? Thanks
Can a person, who couldn’t find a job on the former job-seeking visa, also get a Chancenkarte as a second chance? 😄
You can wait 6 months and reapply for job search visa. I had one and found a job in Germany and now i coach people occasionally to so the same (within the same program that brought me to germany)
What certificates do you posses and in what field? (University degree? Bachelor? Masters? Engineering?)
Hi , i have a university degree but my degree is not recognised ,
If my university and programme are in the ANABIN database do I just need to print that out and my degree is considered recognised? Seems really easy.😅
Thanks for the answer!
Excelente Video! Muchas gracias por la informacion
Cheers!
sehr informativ
Is there a points deduction for age? I am an American in my mid-forties, and I often find that many countries simply want younger people in this situation. It can be frustrating as middle -aged people have lots of skills and experience to bring. Great channel and information! 👏Cheers from the U.S.!
No deduction, but you will have to show more financial stability as you have less time to build pension savings.
@@simplegermany thank you for the reply!
just curious about jen’s use of her life as example for why she can’t apply!
couldn’t you qualify just because you have a university degree alone? even without matching work experience? (just as long as it’s at least partially recognized in germany and if you meet age and language and financial requirements as well) i thought the vocational training is just another option for the “professional qualification” if you don’t have a university degree!
In your example it's correct. In our example we wanted to make the point in the case that Jen's degree is not recognized. Since she doesn't have work experience in the field of her degree, she wouldn't qualify.
@@simplegermanyah i see, thank you!
Thank you for the explanation. Is it difficult to find an apartment without a work contract?
It depends on where you are looking and what financial securities you can show.
I have few questions, pls answer:
1. I have wife and 1 child, how will I apply for opportunity card & how much money to show in blocked Account?
2. My wife is doctor, is she needs to ZAB?
Thank you for this video! 2 questions:
1- If both my university and degree are listed as recognized in the Anabin database, I don't have to go through with this recognition process that you mentioned could take months or a year, correct?
2- What qualifies as proof for the work experience? I'm technically a freelancer but have been working for the same company for almost 2 years now. Is a letter from the company I'm working for sufficient or do I need insurance papers etc which I don't have?
1. We believe so - yes!
2. Your local German mission will need to decide. But we would say a letter of recommendation stating the time span you worked etc should be accepted.
I love this video. Thanks a lot ❤
I have a question and can't find answer online, maybe you can help. I am citizen of Georgia, we have visa free entry to Germany so we can visit Germany for 90 days. Do you know if I can apply for chansenkarte while being in Germany as a visitor?
What if the degree is fully recognised what documents are required?
I have a doubt, Let's say I have IELTS academic certificate with me already. Will that be considered for English proficiency or I need to get IELTS - General Training certificate for Chancenkart ?
Kindly let me know if anyone knows the answer
Clear information, very insightful and helpful, thank you
Thank you for this amazing information. Is it possible to apply for the chancenkarte while working in my current remote job in Germany until I find a German based job?
The Chancenkarte is designed to be applied to from abroad. Not sure where you are currently based.
I haven't been able to find some details on the Chancenkarte so I was wondering whether you've come across it:
1. yes, it should.
2. we don't know
3. in our experience yes
@@simplegermany Thanks a lot :)
@@simplegermany Hi there, Great explanation. Just have one question re. the 3rd point. My degree is in a similar situation in terms of Anabin database. So the question is attaching a screenshot of it while applying for the opportunity would be enough, right? No recognition required?
I have qualifications are recognized but yet I'm not employed so can i still apply for the Chancenkarte?
Thanks for an amazing video.
Can I get a clarification of one thing?
When I have a fully recognized university degree but the degree is not related to my work (IT), Can I go with the path 1?
I was wondering since I have never seen it being specified as such.
For the Chancenkarte we believe that should do. The work needs to be related if the degree is not fully comparable.
Thanks for your efforts 💪
I have a question, when we got job offer, do we still need company sponsor to convert Work Visa or EU Blue card with this Visa?
As far as we're aware, you don't need a company sponsorship, just a job contract.
You need to check with your Ausländerbehörde.
Please please advise me, my university is H+ and my degree is “Entspricht”.
So that means I should be fully recognized…right?
My question is Do I still have to meet the A1 German or B2 English and proof of funds conditions??? Please respond. Thanks a million for the informative video.
Yes the basic requirements need to be met by everyone.
Danke
In the video there is no information about what Fully Qualified Degree means. But in the simple germany website it is mentioned that if you get diploma comparability certificate from the ZAB (or maybe other organization) you degree counts as fully recognized, did understood it correctly?
Yes, you did! And we will release a video on this topic soon 😊
Thank you for the video, so helpful! Is there info on family members? I know previous job seeker would require reunification, which mean my fam would have to wait for me until i found a job. Does chancenkarte allow me to go with them even for the job search portion? Thank you again!
No we believe it will be the same, you need a job for family reunification.
Amazing, gut
Very informative. can anyone here tell me that Is chancenkarte is minimum for year or can we apply for 6 months only if falling short of money for blocked account?
No, it is a fixed 1 year visa.
Hi Jen and Yvonne,
new questions popped up in my mind.
A general work visa for Germany is not restricted to a city but valid in all of Germany.
Thank you.
Hi, please tell me about the Sponsorship letter as against the blocked account.
Do i still need language certificate if my degree is already full recognized?
Hi
Firstly great video :)
My university degree is listed as H+ on the Anabin website, and my degree is equivalent to German standards. Does this mean my degree is fully recognized, or is there another way to verify this?
Hi- How can one take his family to Germany if applying for Chancenkarte!
To our knowledge it can also be a casual job.
@@simplegermany 🌹Thank you, We all really appreciate what you nice people do🥰
Great video!
What happens next, after you get a full time Job in Germany with this visa? Do you apply for a different visa that allows to work full time or something else?
Thanks for sharing ❤
We talk about it here: ua-cam.com/video/U5tt8rklHww/v-deo.html&si=wVSkz9XoqGVRz6P2
Yes, like we say in the video, you will need to apply for a regular work permit 😊
Hi dear, Can you please explain in detail: how to get foreign qualifications fully recognized by German government (Path 1)?
We will do a video on this in the future 😊
@@simplegermany Thank you so much Looking forward 🤩
Please do a video on getting qualification recognized
Great video!! Thanks a lot for that. I have a question: what source confirmed that the part-time employment can be any job even if not in your education area? I haven't seen it clearly confirmed on the sites I read. You're actually the first source I see that explains that.
It serves as a means of finance and not as a job that get you a work permit. Chancenkarte.com is launching a job portal for the part time jobs soon.
Please regarding the education and work experience if I have management international licence and in th past 5 years I am service desk which is different I still have some point ?
Netherland’s visa is the best. You can work more than 20 hours
Thank you!!
Hey! Is follow what your local embassy says. Here you can find a step by step in how to navigate the Anabin database: ua-cam.com/video/vG-TWow4Igg/v-deo.htmlsi=Qu0waNTKxBiDdvSi
@@simplegermany thanks! I have watched the video. My question is if Ana-bin databases recognition counts as “fully recognised” (the first way)?
