@@simplegermany Hi, My university status shows H+, but my degree EQUIVALENCE CLASS shows (CONDITIONALLY COMPARABLE). Is it OK or need ZAB. Please Guide. Thanks
The recognition of a specific degree is quite tricky because it states that it may happen that no degrees exist for a degree type. In this case, you can use the information on the degree type, which you can find using the 'search for degree types' search mask.
My degree is Master of science in Networks and E Business Centered computing, University of Reading, Great Britain. I can see university of Reading in H+ But as as full title of my degree I can not find "Master of science in Networks and E Business Centered computing" However I can find "Master of Science" in Degree types in Great Britain. So does it mean I need comparability statement or not ?
Vielen Dank! I was already studying German with the goal to get back up to A2 (where I was when I last was learning German a few years back). But thanks to this video I was able to find out I NEED B2 to be an engineer. This will motivate me to work harder on my studies!
Long waited content, Thank you, great video! I think it will also be helpful for people video about filling comparability form of ZAB, because some fields in this form are not clear what they asking. Yesterday, for example, my friend did not know what to fill into input field (where text needs to be typed) labeled as "Secondary school qualification required for university admission*". And as I read now, as of January 1, 2024 ZAB is not giving equivalence certificates for vocational training certificates. Also, what I would like to add to it is, I think ZAB doing good job at improving their service. 4 years ago when I applied for the comparability for my Turkish Diploma. At that time all form fields were in german (now the website is available in en and uk as well), they accepted diploma and other related documents in german and english languages. 2 years ago when my friend applied for the comparability they started accepting documents in their original language (russian, turkish ...). For Turkish diploma they did not even want certified diploma copy, instead diploma with digital signature was enough (which you can get for free in a minute). Currently, it is awesome, if (as you said) they accept digital versions of all documents for the application.
Your videos are always timely (at least in my case). I learned so much from your videos before visiting my partner in Berlin last April. And now this? Super Awesome guys! Dankeschön 🙏🏽❤️❤️
The website for getting a degree recognized is in English but the login is through bundID which is mostly in English but also does some pop-ups only in German. Also, it's important to note that you can apply on ZAB for expedited recognition if you are applying for a Blue Card at the same time. But, the Blue Card application is completely separate.
Unfortunately No. The opportunity card visa require both your degree and university to be recognized in Germany. You can do the ZAB letter of comparability instead.
I did my recognition with the ZAB. My profession (Innenarchitekt) in the Anerkennung stated it. For me it took various steps. 1. Have my University degree validated from my home countrys education ministry. 2. Get the studies plan to have an equivalent certification in Germany. 3. In the Anabin, I found my University (H+), but not my Degree, so I sent a request to the ZAB for a Statement of Equivalent. 4. Wait 3 months ...😅 It's not fun, takes long time if you are not Blue Card eligible, but it works as the video states.
@@elliek5350 It took a bit more than three months, but I would recommend to check the Anabin data base frequently. By the time I had the appointment with the German embassy, my career was validated in it. The paper work arrived after the visit to the Embassy. So be patient, but check at least 2 per week the Anabin! Good luck 🤞
If anybody's in the process, here's my update in June of 2024: submitted and paid middle of March, sent them an email at a three-months mark kindly requesting updates. And....got the statement a week later- today!) Still waiting for the statement for my first degree, but I mostly needed this one. Good luck to everyone as well! UPD : got my first degree statement a week later. Yay!)
Great job guys!! So, if my university is "H+" and my degree is "Entspricht", that means that I already have 6 points?? No need to recognize the degree? Thank you!!
For those searching for information about these processes I am sharing my personel experience on recognition. - My univercity is H+ and my degree is not included in anabin database. - Non EU citizen, from Türkiye - I've started the process as you suggested in the video and have got in touch with the adress in the annerkenung web site, BUT - They have directed me to the ZAB recognition process. A totally different procedure. - I applied to the ZAB 5 months ago. They told me that process time is 3 months. (Not Blue Card process, regular application) - Still no response and waiting.
@@simplegermany I've wrote 2 mails. They replied once and said due to the high demand they could not finalise the applications on the time. They are sorry etc... Also in Reddit I've read several comments of people who had been waiting 6-7 months. People miss the academic schedule, visa appointments because of this delay. I think this process has not been well planned. I am afraid it will go worse with the possible increase in applications caused by opportunity card.
Great job! I loved how you explained it! I’ve two important questions: Can you please talk about how can the visa be exchanged once we get employed in Germany? And whether can we get “any” job to exchange it or it needs to be in the field related to my degree with a minimum wage?
How u done pls can explain to me,I am also need to do ,Jan 2024 I got work contract, I done my embassy submission, germany consulate asking me equalance certificate from Germany

We don’t mention anything about A5 in the video. We can’t advise personally. Please watch the full video and follow the steps, then you will have your answer 😊 if it is as described it’s enough if not you may have to move on to level 2 or seek advice from your embassy directly.

Hello. Thank you so much for these informative videos. They are really helpful. I have been in Germany and worked there and your videos helped me alot then also. I had just one question, I have completed my Masters from Germany and now I am in India prepared to apply for Chancekarte. Do I need to Anabin/vet my bachelors? And what will be considered as verification document towards my Masters degree since that was attained in Germany itself? Thank you so much
Another super helpful and timely video! Vielen Dank! So for the Chancenkarte (the degree route, not the 6 point route), it says the degree must be gleichwertig. They use this term in the application instructions. Does that mean that entspricht will not be sufficient? And...do you know if ZAB send the results within those three months? (I'm two weeks away from my three months 🤞 really hoping they will not delay)) thank you again))
Our research shows that gleichwertig and entspricht mean the same. From our community we have heard that the 3 months are true. But please keeping posted about your experience 😊
Hi can you please kindly advise on the health insurance? I saw it is a requirement for the Chancenkarte visa and want to know exactly how much one would have to pay for it and for how many months would one need to be covered. 🙏🏽love your content
We are releasing another video on health insurance next Monday 😊 The cost depends on your individual situation and you need health insurance for your entire time in Germany. So it's best to get a health insurance that you can cancel whenever you leave rather than booking one for a set amount of time.
13:51 Bit confused after watching this section guys. Is it important for my education to be relevant to my work experience for job opportunity card? Secondly, I hope you could help but my university is H+ (University of Delhi) but my degree Bachelor of Arts is listed as both “entspricht” and “bedingt vergleichbar”. Is it good to go?
@@simplegermany but isn’t the whole purpose of job opportunity card is to remove bottlenecks related to educational qualifications? I have been scrolling through the official site nowhere have they mentioned that it needs to be relevant
Maybe we mean two different things. When you go through the point system, in the area of work and experience, your experience needs to match your qualifications. That’s what it states on the official government pages.
@@simplegermany when I go through the points system and select “no” for the question “do you possess work experience relevant to university degree”, it still calculates points based on other metrics and states I have 8 points. I have written to them, but don’t expect a response anytime soon
Thanks for this very detailed video. I want to ask a question that I am teacher of English language and literature. My education is Masters in English and my university has H+ status in Anabin database. But the problem is that my degree “M.S English” is not listed there. Secondly as you’ve told that “Teaching” is both recognised as well as unrecognised profession in Germany, so should I only go for ZAB assessment only? As I can work without full recognition in private sector. Please guide. Thanks
When I use ZAB for comparability, does it still provide the 4-6 points to get the opportunity card? Or does just the full blown recognition process provide those points? My profession is unregulated
If ZAB comes back as partially recognized it gets you 4 points as we describe in this video: ua-cam.com/video/U5tt8rklHww/v-deo.htmlsi=xJE3y3iiD1bchIOc and you still need to get 2 points from other categories. If it comes back as fully recognized, you need to proof your financial stability.
Hi, in the second step of comparibility the degree is being entsprich but from different university of the issued country? What we do in this case? Thanks in advance.
It doesn’t matter what universities are listed under the degree. What matters is the word entspricht. That’s what the official government websites state 😊
My university has H+ status but my degree is stated as “conditionally comparable”. Does this mean I require the statement of comparability for my application? Very grateful for all the information provided on your videos and would very much appreciate your help
Hi, thank you so much for such an informative video. I have a question, “ my university is H+ and degree is presented in different title” will it be an issue for full recognition? Degree is mentioned with my university and field of study is also same.
Thank you so much for this wonderful and informative video! I do have one query for the Anabin Database, which I think you may have missed out in this video. This is a query of thousands of applicants out there, so it would be great if you can respond to it in a short video. I can see in the video that you searched the University on the Anabin database first and checked for its H+ status, and then you checked for the degree status entirely separately on the Anabin database. However, the following query, which I have noticed so many applicants asking the same question and facing the same issue, is as follows: My university is listed as H+ on the Anabin Database. However, when I select that University, and scroll to the 'Degrees' section at the bottom, there is only one degree listed there, which is NOT the degree that I completed with that University. Would this mean that my degree is not recognized as H+ and only my university's status is H+? This would mean partial recognition since the degree is not listed under the University's Degrees section. There's massive confusion about this. Can you please help?
Thanks for your great feedback and phrasing your question so accurately! 😊 the answer lies in what we don’t say 😉. Your query as the one of many others is not a requirement on the official website of the German government. The two steps we mention are required, nothing else. Hope that makes it clear 😊
Hello Hassan - did you gone through ZAB process or just the two print outs that are shown in video are submitted to the embassy? As my case is also same - my university is H+ but degree is showing in the same university section. Your quick response will be appreciated
Hello, thank you very much for this amazing and beautiful video. I have a question regarding, the chancenkarte visa if it needs the anabin database to consider the university degree fully equivalent to the German degree so I could apply for Option no.1 in the visa or it's just comparable so I apply for Option no. 2 which needs the points ?
Thanks for very informatics video. I have one question , My institute and university degree is recognized in Germany according to the Anabin database. My professional qualification is relevant to my university degree and I have 15 years working experience. will I need to show language proficiency to apply opportunity card visa? I am from Bangladesh and my education is Bachelor of science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
I appreciated your amazing work.is non regulated profession mean recognized one? IT ,computers scientist are considered as non regulated profession can i apply as recognized profession here? thanks
almost everything explained very well.. but i still have a tiny confusion. i have also heard that the degree should also be listed or say associated with your university. my university has H+ status and my degree which is BS Software Engineering has A4 status in university degree section.. but, the degree is not listed on my university detail page and similarly my university is not listed on the degree detail page under 'lending institutes' .. if you get my point please help me out 😿
We don’t know about your point. The two steps we are showing come straight from the source of the German government website. There is no mention that the degree should be listed under the university and vice versa.
@@simplegermany this is literally confusing for many as i see so many comments on diff videos and posts.. if you can confirm about this, do make a video.. it will surely help a lot of people.
@@simplegermany same for my case my university is H+ and my degree exist but unfortunally the last page under VERLEİHENDE İNSTİTUTİONEN my university dont exist i hope is not a requirement for visa
Great video, but still, I have a question. During the checking of the university degree, is it necessary that your university name should be present in the bottom of the degree section?
Thank you for the video. If your degree is listed as "entspricht" on the Anabin website and your university is also listed, do we still need to go through the ZAB recognition procedure to gain 6 or 4 points(fully/Partially recognized) for the opportunity card, or is the Anabin printout sufficient to obtain those 4 points?
Please watch the full video as we state this very clearly. And if your degree is fully recognized you don’t need to collect points for the Chancenkarte, we also state this very clearly in the Chancenkarte video 😊
@@simplegermany So, that means I can get 6 or 4 points directly if my non-regulated degree shows "entspricht" on the Anabin website? to collect that 6 or 4 points i just need to take print out & submit along with other documents?
You are always helps people! I have one question now, if someone studied in affiliated colleges which affiliate with the university then its ok if University shows H+? Although exams takes by the university and degree issue by the university?
Hi , thank you for the detailed information. I have one confusion if you can clarify that for me . 1- in university search my university is recognized H+. 2- in degree search my degree is also recognized H+. But my university name is not appearing below while searching for degree. Do i need statement of compatibility or thats enough for me. Thanks in advance.
hello, just a quetion please: i fond my university is H+ and when i took for my Bewertung i find Entspricht but in the list Verleihende Institutionen there isnt the name of my university?
Thank you ladies very much. I am a bit confused about going to level 2 or not, when I checked my school(university) appears with H+ and in the courses my program is available however under the courses some universities are listed and mine is not part of it. Do I need level 2 or I can still print and attach to the university H+. Hope you can clarify for me .Thanks
So, just to clarify: if my university is "H+" and my degree is "Entspricht", I can apply directly for the Chancenkarte without having to collect any additional points? Thank you!!
I truly liked your video. This enlightened me. I have already sent my Master's (UK) and Bachelor of Engineering (Philippines) H-/+ to ZAB. I know my master's degree was recognised [H+] by the university degree in Anabin. But I still forwarded it to ZAB.
full thanks for your efforts, i have a question : is the statement of comparability gives full recognition or partial one or either no recognition in it's notice or gives full recognition anyway?
Thanks so much for this video, I have a question though if you may answer it please I have Information Engineering (Idjaza fi l-handasa al-ma' lumati yya/License in Computer Science) Degree from Aleppo in Syria, someone told me that i have to send my papers to Germany, but I found my degree in comparable and the University is H+ in Anabin Are the prints really enough or i have to send my papers to Germany? Thanks for the video again 😄
Question: Suppose a university is recognised as H+ but when we check the degree name, it is mentioned as equivalent BUT this university is not listed in the degree awarding institutions list for that degree. Is this a problem? Does the applicant need ZAB in this case?
We do not mention that the university needs to be listed under the degree name, do we? Neither does the German government on their website 😊 So, as long as it is as we describe it should be fine. Ultimately, your local German embassy decides on your case.
I have a few questions. Does the chancenkarte only allow you 20 hours a week for one year or full time as well? If it is part time only on how can I convert this to full time? If this is only for part time for the entire year until you find a job then what happens once you do find a full time job? How do you convert your visa then or do you even need to convert your visa? And finally for how long will the visa be for a full time job which you find during the one year?
You can only work part time with the Chancenkarte, as you are supposed to put your energy and time into finding a full time job. Once you do so, you need to apply for a residence permit with the Ausländerbehörde in the German city that you live in. How long that permit is valid for depends on your work contract. It usually is anything between 2-4 years. And as long as you keep employment you can always renew it and eventually move on to permanent residency and citizenship. Hope that answers your questions 😊
If you need a visa then you need the blocked account before you apply for the visa, which is outside of Germany. You can find more info on the blocked account in our guide: www.simplegermany.com/best-blocked-account-germany/

@@simplegermany Same with me. So in that case, could we apply under the points criteria? Does "Conditionally Comparable" means we can earn 4 points with the option "Yes, my qualification is partially recognised in Germany."?

I still have a question concerning the blue card, I have a masters degree in English language and literature (recognized by ZAB) in my ZAB recognition there is written that the employer has to decide if my qualifications meet the requirements for the position I'm applying on , I'm currently working as a Graphic designer with 5 years of experience. I'm still not sure about my chances of getting a blue card based on the new rules. My degree is definitely not associated with my profession. @@simplegermany yes, I just was wondering if new rules would make me eligible for the blue card. At the beginnig I new that I would not. My name is Shamim Hossen, I have completed a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from International University of Scholars in Bangladesh. I am currently in the process of preparing to apply for an Opportunity Card visa in Germany and would like to clarify the recognition status of my degree. According to Anabin: My institution, International University of Scholars, is marked with an H+ rating. My degree is listed with Equibalance class- Corresponds. However, I would like to confirm whether my Bachelor's degree will be considered as fully recognized or partially recognized in Germany for the purposes of my Opportunity Card visa application. If there are any additional steps I need to take to ensure its recognition please advise me on the process. Thank you very much for your time and assistance. I look forward to your response.
Hey Shamim, we can’t give personal advice but please rewatch the video as we clarify your questions in it 😊 if you fulfill level 1 that should suffice as 6 points for the Chancenkarte.
@@simplegermany I watched your video again but still I'm confused, my degree equivalence class is "Corresponds" which means formally equivalent to Germany Degree, No statement is made regarding material equivalence. On the other hand, there is another equivalence class in Anabin website is "Equivalent" which means foreign degree is formally and materially equivalent to German degree. Please help me. Is my degree will be treated as fully recognised? Lots of love from Bangladesh.
Hello! I have a question, maybe someone faced the same problem. The university status is H+. However, the name of the degree in diploma is "Bachelor of Science in Computer and Software Engineering". On the Anabin database there are two separate degrees named "Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering" and "Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering". Both are marked as recognized. Is it enough or I still have to apply for ZAB certificate?
This clears a lot of confusion, I still have one left though 😅 My degree is Bachelor's of Engineering Computer Systems Engineering which is comparable as per Anabin Database, and I am a software engineer/developer and will be applying for opportunity card so how will I check my profession will it be the same computer scientist? And if my degree is comparable does this means I directly qualify for opportunity card or it is partially recognized and I need to get as many points as possible?
The way we understand it is that if your degree is comparable you don't have to go through the points system. You still have to fulfill all 3 basic requirements that we list in the Chancenkarte video though. The point system and therefore correlation between qualifications and work experience matters if your qualifications are not fully recognized/comparable. But in the end only your local embassy can inform you in your specific case. 😊
question: my university has H+ but its has a different Degree, but Degree is comparable but university if different from my university, like my degree is MBA but my institution has bechlour of Computer science degree, Will this be ok but we need to add MBA for my university ??
Can a pharmacy graduate whose institute is H+ and its degree shows corresponds in anabin and shows the name of one awarding institute which doesn't include the institution I graduated from, does I have to recognise my degree via ZAP or via professional degree recognition???? I am planning to apply for chancenkarte visa
I have one question. I am a Pakistani who obtained his Master from USA. My university is listed in Anabin as H+ and my degree is also listed with the equivalence word. However, when i scroll down for further details of my degree in Anabin printout my university is not listed in the list of universities providing that degree. Will this in any case impact my Chancenkarte application or am i fine? Also since I have my masters I am assuming that I dont need anabin verification of my Bachelors degree. Please advise if this is correct approach.
We do not mention that the university needs to be listed under the degree name, do we? Neither does the German government on their website 😊 So, as long as it is as we describe it should be fine. Ultimately, your local German embassy decides on your case. We also address the presence of two degrees in the video. One is sufficient 😊

Good luck 🤞

- Non EU citizen, from Türkiye
- I've started the process as you suggested in the video and have got in touch with the adress in the annerkenung web site, BUT
- They have directed me to the ZAB recognition process. A totally different procedure.
- I applied to the ZAB 5 months ago. They told me that process time is 3 months. (Not Blue Card process, regular application)
- Still no response and waiting.
Thanks for sharing! That’s interesting that ZAB is taking 5 months already. Have you followed up with them?
@@simplegermany I've wrote 2 mails. They replied once and said due to the high demand they could not finalise the applications on the time. They are sorry etc... Also in Reddit I've read several comments of people who had been waiting 6-7 months. People miss the academic schedule, visa appointments because of this delay. I think this process has not been well planned. I am afraid it will go worse with the possible increase in applications caused by opportunity card.

Thank you so much
Degrees attained from a German university are recognized automatically 😊

yes, ZAB.

We are releasing another video on health insurance next Monday 😊 The cost depends on your individual situation and you need health insurance for your entire time in Germany.
Yes as far as we understand education and job experience should be linked.
Thanks
Sorry we can’t give personal guidance here. It highly depends on your employer and what their requirements are.
That’s what the official government websites state 😊
@@simplegermany uhh, big thanks for your quick reply :)

However, the following query, which I have noticed so many applicants asking the same question and facing the same issue, is as follows:
My university is listed as H+ on the Anabin Database.
Awesome. I had been holding myself from applying to the Chancenkarte because of this confusion. Now that you've clarified it, it's time to apply!
Hello Hassan - did you gone through ZAB process or just the two print outs that are shown in video are submitted to the embassy?
As my case is also same - my university is H+ but degree is showing in the same university section.
Your quick response will be appreciated
What about 'Conditionally Comparable' on the anabin database?
Like we say in the video, if it is not comparable it is best move on to Level 2 = ZAB certificate.

Not sure if for doctors since you need to get full recognition and approbation. For engineering they should.

@simplegermany thank you for the clarification. It cleared so many confusions. On top of that the response was very quick so thanks alot.
If one has passed level 1 recognition (i.e. degree is recognized and University institution is H+), does one need to go through Level 2 ?

I still have a question concerning the blue card, I have a masters degree in English language and literature (recognized by ZAB) in my ZAB recognition there is written that the employer has to decide if my qualifications meet the requirements for the position I'm applying on , I'm currently working as a Graphic designer with 5 years of experience.
I'm still not sure about my chances of getting a blue card based on the new rules. My degree is definitely not associated with my profession.

If you don't qualify for the blue card, you can simply get a regular work permit. Jen never had a blue card and still lived just fine 😊
@@simplegermany yes, I just was wondering if new rules would make me eligible for the blue card. At the beginnig I new that I would not.
