Skeletons are so close to being a properly supported tribe, they just need a bit of extra push. I’m a big fan of non-standard tribal decks - I’ve got a Taborax, Hope’s Demise mono-black cleric tribal deck that’s a lot of fun.

Funfact 0:38: tiefling is pronounced teafling and generates from the german Word tief (meaning deep. And IT is probably a semi play on words with the german Word Teufel (meaning devil)
I decided to try building a skeleton tribal deck. I decided on using Tormod. I didn’t like a lot of the green partners, but knew I wanted to be golgari. I was considering Kamal, but I decided to do the unthinkable and use prismatic piper! Now hear me out. You choose green, but then you have a colorless repeatable commander that you can summon and sacrifice at will, as long as you have the mana. With how easy this deck could go infinite with ashnod’s altar and phyrexian altar I wanted to set a condition that I could only use infinite mana to cast the piper repeatedly just so I can do Skull Storm infinitely for a win. Kamal is probably better though.
Hey Demo. Great video. I just want to point out that Skeleton Swarm gives your skeletons the power buff regardless of whether they are attacking or not. This makes them even more effective blockers as well.
See I went for Hogaak as my commander, easily have either the grave fodder or creature presence to get him out and can keep my skeletons safe a turn if I don't want them attacking after my skeletal swarming is up. Plus thematically he's a walking amalgamation of bones and such so seems very on theme, the other consideration was ol Skullbriar for earlier aggro.

I have a reaper king deck that is pretty cool, but I gotta admit the overwhelming majority of scarecrow cards suck, so it has to rely a lot on changelings.
@@Vektor480 Yeah... there is only a handful of scarecrows that are actually good, changelings is a good idea but is not very appealing to me, I tried to make a Reaper King more focused on tokens with effects like Arcane Adaptation
Funny I went skeletons I can easily pull back from the graveyard to chump block over and over it let me build up my board once I had adequate mana everything that died came right bk.

man that commander is crap, i know it's underwhelming but oof. why do they make you pay 2 life on top of a morbid trigger, that's insane. I would probably run hogaak or old stickfingers for a spooky flavored general who will occasionally have utility over such a bad ability.
Seems like you either tutor for skeletal swarming or you kind of fumble around with overcosted recursion abilities. I wonder if a commander that could help you find skeletal swarming is better, but I get that lacking card draw makes this idea flawed too.

Tinybones and Skithyrix are legendary, but multicolour skeleton legends aren’t a thing in this colour mix yet. Skeleton Ship exists but is U/B

I built something similar around Ebondeath, Draco Lich. I like these cards that can pull themselves back from the graveyard one way or another.

Had a similar idea but making it zombie/skeleton using muldrotha as the commander.

It's also flawed because no such creature exists in golgari (monoblack would be ok).
