What kind of invocations would go well with a Warlock/Paladin? I've never played 5e, and I'm not sure if I would wear heavy armor, or if I should take Armour of Shadows, or something else... I'm very lost. 😭
Well. If you use Eldritch Blast, those options are VERY good. If you don't have proficiency is Deception and Persuasion, then Beguiling Influence is great. If you have those bases covered, pick the ones that give you access to the spells you like. I wouldn't recommend Armour of Shadows, when multiclassing with Paladin, though. As like you said, you get better armour from Paladin. Even multiclassing into Paladin as NOT your first level, Medium Armour + Shield will yield better results than Mage Armour! Sorry for delay on the response. Hope this helps. Know it can be a little overwhelming at first!

Yeah, if you'd like to grab heavy armor with one of those classes, especially on a later respec, do it. Don't really mind the low AC for the first part of this game, personally.
This is so interesting because I literally just made a character sheet for a 5e warlock for a one shot since I have a rare player opportunity lol. It’s really interesting to see how BG3 compares to 5e in the nitty gritty of the mechanics. As a side, barbarians being able to use any ability score for their attacks is crazy actually lmao. It’s one of their biggest limitations in 5e so I wonder how it feels to play a multiclassed barbarian at high leveled in BG3 👀
Sick that you get to play! Pretty wild all the little edge cases that things like that open up, too! Love that Larian made those less restricted. Super powerful, but there's Tactician Difficulty and before too long I'm sure there will be some gnarly difficulty mods to really push your parties. Been getting fatigued with some of the games I play reigning the power in. Not looking for totally balanced, give me the ridiculous!
@@Ghostzapper no yeah seriously! Especially in primarily single player/small party experiences like BG3. I love when there’s a ton of options to really push things to the extreme and enough depth to the mechanics to make it feel worthwhile ya know?
Not trying to be combative about it, but I do feel that a lot of people are getting hung up on the D&D way of doing things. Where because there are no 're-specs' per se. You have to be strategic about when you take your levels. If you feel like you want/need the proficiencies from Paladin, absolutely go for it. I haven't felt the need for the early levels. But at anytime you can go respec to get your first level as Paladin. Don't have to slow down Warlock progression unless you feel stuck.
So does the extra attack from paladin stack with the extra attack on warlock? I thought the in-game tool tips say they aren't stackable, unless I'm thinking of some else 🤔
It specifically says it doesn't. But in combat (unless that character specifically starts a combat [as in from no one is fighting to rolling initiative] with an attack), you get 3 attacks per Attack Action. It's silly, I expect them to fix it, but they haven't touched 'balance' things like that in the hotfixes just yet.
Thanks for this video :) I'm currently on my first playthrough (98 Hours) in Act 3 as a full Soldier, no multiclass. Though I'm watching these videos to prep for my Durge evil playthrough right after I finish this run. Would Oathbreaker Paladin Warlock be viable? I haven't looked into Oathbreakers yet as I want to keep it a surprise for myself but I assume Oathbreakers could freely do Evil things..
6th lvl of paladin gives Aura of protection and 7th an oath power (thinking of Aura of warding, resistance to spell to the whole party) As I intend to take oath of vengeance, essentially for vow of enmity (advantage on attacks quite early to make best use of GWM), lvl 7 is not big of a deal, but I wonder if Aura of Protection worth it ? Is spell resistance relevant in the late game ?
It's pretty nice to have. I remember picking a fight in the last act that I wasn't ready for (low on resources and health), just balled up around my Paladin and was able to squeak the encounter out. Like anything else, situationally strong. If I had more damage in my comp, would have solved the problem with that instead, too.
@@Ghostzapper TY for the answer, indeed, spell resistance seems incredible, but...As I want to hit lvl 5/5 asap to benefit of the most, I will get this spell resistance only on my last lvl... I guess the most enjoyable journey is to take vengeance oath and benefit from vow of enmity + GWM at lvl 8 (5 warlock + 3 paladin), in addition to have a less restrictive RP ;-) 11th lvl maybe 6th paladin lvl, aura of protection and +5 to all saves/party seems way too good Last lvl fighter or barbarian for style or rage ?
I don't know how you can make a warlock guide without mentioning the bugged progression of the archfey and the bugged spell slots when multiclassing...
@@Ghostzapper my archfey lock was unable to select an additional Cantrip at level 4. The slot bug goes much deeper than what you mentioned. It sometimes won't even allow a player to cast warlock spells with warlock slots in some accounts. It is an inconsistent bug that is very confusing to deal with as sometimes it doesn't even take effect at all and you can freely cast spells using any spell slot. I would not advise anyone to multiclass warlock with another spellcasting class until it is fixed.

Are the pact of the tome spells scaling or always lowest level?
The last 2 choices for warlock/pally is so interested i dont know should i pick fighter for the action surges or barb for their rage?
pick fighter first then go warlock, this way u get heavy armor and all weapons proficiency
Considering that we get different options for different classes, I thought about just Multiclass into everything to see what happens😂
