for every time someone loses in 7 moves, someone else won in 7 moves.
edit: What he said, is still necessarily true.
my comment explains why despite this the number of people who won a game in 7 moves may be different from the number of people who lost in 7 moves. All this because I answered with levy's initial question "how many of you..." in mind
Not necessarily a person might lose or win a game in 7 moves against several people, maybe all millions of people that lost a game in 7 moves were playing against the gm in the video (not)
@@hyperpony4865 ah, yeah, didn't think about that one.

Levy is one of the only people I know who can play almost an entire chess game and then reverse it and go "but that didn't happen" and just go back to normal
Dude it’s insane
You clearly haven't seen agadmator
You should watch last twilight movie
Yeah, that's one thing I don't like about Levy's videos. He'll play a move on the board and you think it's what the player moved but it turns out that that didn't happen. Or on the other hand he rushes through a sequence of moves and you think this is just analysis, but it turns out that this is what happened. Like here 1:52
Yeah so trueee lolllll
Levy: A grandmaster lost in 7 moves!
9:28 Levy at move 12: The thing is, according to the computer, black can actually still hold this
yeah he could but he blundered so thats not what happened lol
still, he didn't take the rook so it's of course clickbait, oh man, I got him!, stupid bs, who cares, they all assholes anyways
Rook a7 was absolutely incredible. I would have never found that in a million years.
Only reason I found it was because I knew there is something in that position. In a real game, I'd never even consider it probably.
I found it instantly after seeing the bar ++++
Well, after a million you probably would though let’s be honest 🧐🤓🤣😭

Levy: "You underestimate my power"
Thanks for covering this game Levy! As someone who plays the Reti, it's a transposition of a similar line I see often at my rating of around 1400 (1.Nf3 d5 2.c4 c6 3.g3 Bg4 4.Bg2...), but I've never thought to play Ne5 after Bg4 and have only ever gone Bg2 to defend and continue development, so it was very instructive to see how a game might play out this way.

@@buzzer2231 typo, c6 =)
pin of shame: levy clickbaited us cuz the gm actually didnt lose in 7 moves
EDIT: ppl say that black is in a losing position. Yeah, but remember the other vids where GMs that got a fantastic opening got demolished in the midgame
He played something with an idea, then he realized his idea was losing so he couldn't play it, so he had to play a position where white had fairly obvious moves while black had to spend 20 minutes to find a move that wasn't losing.
Levy is always farming views. Can't blame him. I wonder if he realizes that clickbait or not I'm still gonna watch ?
You are aware that you can lose without getting checkmated right?
Not the first time that he is doing this and frankly it is not a honest way to attract more viewer.
@@pierre-alexandremonette8169 yeah but you’re a good subscriber. In order to grow the channel and his audience, he has to clickbait at least a little.
This deserves to be made into a high level puzzle

2) his own face
3) the brilliant move icon
Is it only me who watch his lessons attentively but in my own games just play random moves...?🤣😂
🤣🤣
Same here
This really shows that Fischer was right, modern chess is all about memorizing. Once you're out of theory, even GMs blunder horribly. The guy didn't know what to do when he saw a new knight move in the opening, 2 moves later he's lost ..
Today's stare was fast but shocking enought that we were able to feel the distance between our souls. 7/10

Imagine abasov sitting on this game and doing nothing while his opponent is thinking for around 20 minutes
I like how you bring the game to life. I could've reviewed the game privately and not seen any of what you talked about. Nice job!
The countdown to the 7th move was tense and I loved it
Honestly, I thought it was going to be something stupid and surprising like they lost to 100 ELO but it was actually more reasonable than I thought
I lost to Abasov once. Pretty sure it was in less than 7 moves though.
How did he blunder in 7 moves if the eval is +.9 after 7 moves?
He always pushes the rhetoric of the completely lost game when stockfish says 0.0, his analysis honestly are ass
Because after his 7 moves he can't play anything of the plan he had. He has to improvise a new strategy in the middle of the game, with a 20 minute time disadvantage, while being down a pawn. At GM Level that's almost lost on the spot unless you're, like, Magnus
+ means to white
@@Hi-rw8vr Yes, + means white is winning, but +.9 does not mean black blundered at all. its barely an advantage at all
Under ~1000 I don't think a game is lost until it's a whole 9 pawns difference.
And he didn’t lose in 7 moves… nice
11:24 Yes I've seen (Alphazero against Stockfish, Alphazero puts Stockfish queen in jail in his own castle).
whenever i see something like this, i get some hope. and then i remember that here, black blunders, but is at least putting thought into his moves and at least has some ideas behind it. meanwhile when i blunder on move 7 its because my memory is worse than a goldfish's and i totally forget about the queen and bishop staring at my undefended f pawn

@@fizzybossyt8675 good man I would love to play against you if you want
How long did it take you to climb to 1500?
@@jale346 I used to play chess as a kid a lot so my basics were good just a bit rusted. So it took me nearly a month to gain that rating in rapid chess.
I’m 1700 and I stopped studying months ago I just kept playing openings until I am familiar with them which makes me strong in the opening, when I was learning chess I studied tactics over and over on Chessable until I’m sick of them, I couldn’t tell when last I did that but it does pay off, as for endgame I had no real knowledge of this and it cost me a lot of my games but I have a opening for black which is dubious and always put me at a disadvantage but I still play it and it takes me to the end a lot which made me gain a lot of experience. Still my favorite part of the game is the middle game then the opening and endgame but I do enjoy an opening when my opponent doesn’t know what he’s doing.
Edit - also my account started at 400 and I got scholars mate a lot until I was at 199 elo I got fed up of losing the game with that one trick which made me turn to UA-cam to deepen my understanding of chess
At 5:42 I farted loudly and I thought Levy’s questioning expression was him judging me for a sec 😂
That’s a vintage “sacrifice the ROOOOOOOK!”
What is interesting about this is that the knight on e5 also controls d7, otherwise the king could move to stop the pawn

I'm proud to have actually won once in 7 moves, but I'm a 900 so it don't count. And I learned that from you, sir Gotham. Thank you.
It is possible to win in fewer than seven moves. Ever heard of Scholar's Mate and Fool's Mate. Most newbies get checkmated in one or other of those two.
Opponent almost played into a scholar, corrected 1 move, blundered 1, checkmate came. I know scholar from grade school, but it's not a guaranteed available attack.
Funny enough, I was hoping to practice endgames on that game. Guess it'll have to wait
I cant describe how much i love your content u got me into chess and it became one of my favourite hobbies ever
