I have known Eli Lieb by accident in 2013 I once saw Young Love thumbnail and my gay curiosity was peaked, it was a dream come true when I found songs and music written about LGBT+ relationships. It instantly became my favorite song. I've been listening to Eli Lieb songs for 10 years now, and they always give me the same feelings, of warm, fuzziness inside that makes me feel that it's perfectly normal and okay to be gay. 😍🥰

I love this so much, and not to sound like a prude, but I'm glad there's nothing sexual in the song lyrics or the video... I feel like songs nowadays are too dirty and so many singers and bands go for "sex sells" rather than quality. This song is just so much richer and more unique because it beautifully describes two lovers sharing a moment and a mutual love of theirs, Zeppelin.
Also, I can't decide who/what is more gorgeous, Eli or his voice. And from a couple of interviews I read, he comes off as an intelligent, thoughtful and humble guy, too. He seems to be everything I want in a boyfriend, really.

I can name a lot of songs from back in the day that have sexual mentions in it. From LZ alone: Whole Lotta Love, The Lemon Song, Heartbreaker, You Shook Me? (not sure exactly if the meaning is sexual outright), Black Dog, Custard Pie, Houses of the Holy, Trampled Underfoot, The Wanton Song, Sick Again. That's just off the top of my head. Sex has always been in music, stop acting like it hasn't.
1864movement I'm not saying that music about sex is new, obviously it's as old as time, but I feel like in the last few decades, since the sexual revolution of the 60's, the world has adopted a much more raw and ardent approach to sex. Whereas we were once too conservative, now we're too liberal. Songs by the likes of Rihanna, Katy Perry or Miley Cyrus - and, God knows, their music videos - don't just mention sex, they're about as dirty and titillating as possible because that's what sells. IMO, that's different from the bands/singers of old who sang about sex, but did it in a somewhat more dignified way.
For the record, if Eli sang about sex, I would have no problem with that whatsoever (you could argue some of his songs already allude to it at least, like in Young Love - "when it was getting late, and you asked me to stay, and hold you until we see light"), as long as it was in good taste like the rest of his music.

Sling, I realize your commentary is six months old but in the event you check back.....I can't let your remark "now we're too liberal" go by with out making a comment myself.For you to use the phrase "too liberal" when addressing a gay man (Eli) is an insult to him and readers. It shows you have no concept of what gay men have gone through to reach the freedoms we have now. I'm guessing you don't know anyone that is old enough to have lived through Stonewall or even a younger generation that knows who Matthew Sheppard was. Even women's rights are assaulted when you use the term "too liberal" especially in the context/reference to sex. Again, it really shows how much you don't know or appreciate how far society in the US has come. NOTHING in our society is "Too liberal" when it comes to human rights....and yes that includes S.E.X.! I also realize you didn't intend to offend anyone on purpose. However, even here on a "blog" giving kudos to an incredible singer, we all need to be aware and appreciate just how far we've all come with personal and civil rights.....especially in these turbulent political times where there are dark forces trying to take our rights away.

omg....ive been listening to this and watching the video damn near every time for almost a year now and only this time did i notice. he smiles when he gets out of the car with his bag. i always thought him packing his bag was implying they broke up and he's moving out but now it looks more like it's a long distance relationship and he just has to go home....is it really a happy ending, and he'll see him again? when i think of it now, it's a bit silly to think he'd only need to pack one bag to move out ^^; anyways im so glad to be able to see it this way now!!

I was born in a small town in nortern Norway in 1973, and I have taken the whole journey. From total isolation in a small town before internet, to today. Wheew, what a ride! I love the fact that we got there in the end. Your music and especially your videos are such a great symbol for that. Thank you. Of course, your songs will be percieved as bearing a message of tolerance and a bit of protest, when they really are just love songs. We'll get there soon, but for now, i like the edge it gives you!
