A few years ago I did a 14 day bike packing trip. I don't suppose you would be able to share a link to the route it looks good as I'm planning a 7 day version so yours would be a good template to edit!
I’ve just come across your video wow what an achievement very well done. I rode Lejog last year aged 68 it took me 14 days but the feeling when I got to the top is one I’ll never forget I was so emotional .
Great video! Yesterday I cycled 250km, over the Lakes and into Whitehaven solo. Longest ride yet, hit Wrynose and Hardknott pass at 8.30pm…spoke to 2 people all day at coffee stops…a small group of walkers shouted good luck at the base of Wrynose and a few sheep got in my way on the way up.. Exhilarating..humbling..lonely…worth every second even after the flat and having to find a bike shop for a new tyre in Hawes along with the 60mile headwind from the start.. Did it on my Ribble 653 steely rather than the R5..good training for LeJog next year I say.. Keep at it 👍
Great effort (and video) - amazing to see how far you go on a bike in a straight line, day 1 Bristol, day 2 Manchester, day 3 Glasgow…. Sometimes we normalise these things!!!
Great effort lads ,very well done. should be way more people seeing this video, guess that's the YT algorithm for you. Enjoy what many only dream of doing guys.No fuss,No Dramas No BS, Again congratulations.
Simon, I loved watching this. SUCH a huge challenge and some serious head work along the way with all that weather and miles done in 5 days. Absolutely awesome achievement. A proper Chapeau (I can recall that road as you hit the northern most coast for the first time, its a magic feeling eh) Well done mate :)
Just watched you do this. So impressive!! nearly 200 miles a day. Did you do a tone of training before hand to mange such long days in the saddle? Well done amazing effort
Loved the video. Hats off to you for sticking with the plan despite the challenges. It's inspirational, showing the art of the possible. Well done. Tour de Mont Blanc sometime?
Have done Tour de Mont Blanc it was brutal hot. Here’s the link to the video. ua-cam.com/video/Oj3MO_qchJw/v-deo.htmlsi=k-x7H56yiNPbLxus thanks for the comments. And thanks for the support. 👍🏼😎
Yes, just seen your website and saw you'd already done it,another massive well done to you. A pal of mine tried it last year, brutal heat like you experienced. He had to bail about two thirds round as he ran out of fuel and water.
You mentioned a few times since about recovery and the fatigue you’ve been feeling… I’d be keen to hear whether you expected this? As someone who practices what you preach were you surprised at the fatigue? Any thoughts on the recovery approach? Thank you for the content 🙏
Just stumbled across this video. Honestly that is a mega achievement. Got loads of questions but probably too many for here. The big question ive got is how did you over come the mental challenge of it when it got tough ? Honestly I tip my cap to you sir ❤
we are 2023 being gay or lesbian shouldn't be an issue anymore, just live life on topic hats off for this performance, i know from experience the mental part is the hardest, but if you are capable with that, then a lot is possible(myself i did the tour the france this year, same stages 1 day ahead of the pro's) keep on riding greetings from belgium
I wonder if it is any “easier” going one way over the other? Clearly it is something that only the few can even dream of doing let alone achieve but I wonder if the direction of travel matters?
Have you done Le Jog?
Yes, just got back from completing mine. Video out soon 😀
Look forward to watching that 😎 @@cyclingmod

This was my first day you can see the route on my Strava the days after this www.strava.com/activities/9382307287
I think your mate Andy had the right idea - hopping on the bike for the pretty bits through the Lake District and Glen Coe 😀.
Lols. He defo had some of the best bits. 😎
Really enjoyed this video. Congrats on the achievement. Seems like you battled a few demons along the way which for me is a major reason I cycle.. 🤙
Thnak you, yeah cycling is the same for me.

Learning the story telling of video creation. It’s not as easy to make it flow as other creators make it look. 😆
Great achievement!
Thank you 😎

Great video. I would love to do it.
Thank you. Di it. It’s epically tough and awesome at the same time.

Any chance you could post your route, at least through Cornwall and Devon?
It’s on my Strava. www.strava.com/athletes/velo-simon 😎
Look at the end of July for the route.
I see it, thanks!
No worries. Hope you find it helpful. 😎

Coming from the north you often get a headwind which makes it harder.
I messaged you on Linkedin did you see it?
