Really enjoyed this series haven’t seen too many doing it this way round 👍hope you keep doing the videos cheers 🚴🏽♀️
Appreciate that! Glad you enjoyed it 👊
Great to watch and wishing you good luck😊
That was a good watch, very entertaining. Looking forward to watching parts 2 and 3. Well done you!
Good luck with the journey, great to see vegan options especially in northern Scotland!
Well we certainly knew he was vegan. Just think if we were all vegan, there would be no sheep on the hills, no cows in the the meadows, no hens in the yard. Can't wait.
Hi Ed, I had a go at JOGLE end of July weather was atrocious cold, wet and windy, stayed at Crask Inn second night camped out in garden and got attacked by midges, it rained non stop down to Inverness. I started getting a cold and by time I got to Edinburgh my chest wasn't having it, so decided to get train home. I'm going back next year to continue, going to go lighter i.e. not take cooking stuff and binoculars.
Mate that is some rough luck! Good on you for recognising you needed to call it, I bet that was a hard conversation to have with yourself Definitely go back for it though! I chose 2nd of June to start after reading it’s not quite in peak midge season and it’s still likely to have good weather. And yes I agree, don’t take anything you aren’t gonna be using every day.

Great video. I have the exact same Canyon & always enjoy seeing it out on adventures!
Can’t recommend this bike enough!
Hi Edward. Great videos. Awesome ride. Thank you for sharing it. Can you do a video of planning for us. To show your setup ie bike, gear you have taken. And your route please. Many want to do this ride. And it will help millions thanks
Hi Ricky
Yeah I did actually film a video of my kit list and bike setup but it got deleted somehow in the editing process 😭 if you have any specific questions I can answer them no problem 👌
Great video, very nicely paced.
Great stuff!!!!
Bucket list adventure this is!
Great effort 👍
ive got almost the same bike, just with disc brakes and campag wheels :)
it truly is a gorgeous blue color.
Love this bike so much!
@@EdwardHarrisYeah i do too. Despite typical german winter (cold, windy and yucky) i went for a ride. Was like 4C and headwind. Had a blast anyways. Just dont wear summer shoes in winter or youve got icecubes for feet.
Amazing views!
You really need to plan cycling in the Highlands in order to avoid the midge season.
Have you got the route mate 👍
I don’t have the route anywhere unfortunately. I just used the cycle.travel app, put in the start and end points and looked for campsites that were around 75 miles apart from each other along it 👊
Hi, great videos - did you plan the route yourself? use Google Maps or use other GPX files?
I used a free app/website called Cycle.travel. Just put in the start and end points of the whole ride and then found places to camp roughly 75 miles apart 👍
Hi mate , great videos , well . Can I ask what your Strava name is please ?
It’s Ed Harris 👊
@@EdwardHarrisYeah thanks
You might have cycled there from home rather than got the train - Lightweight!
Congrats on this trip mate! What are you shooting on? Great quality
This was all filmed and edited on my phone 👍 iPhone 13 mini
Cheers man! Trying to track you down on strava, could you share a link to your profile? Would love to check out that route!
@@JamieWilliams-ju6nm my Strava isn’t public sorry. But if you wanted the route I used the app cycle.travel and just wrote in the start and end points, then looked for campsites that were close to the route for each night 👍
@@EdwardHarrisYeah thanks mate!
Really enjoyed watching all 3 episodes ED your an inspiration. Which Wahoo do you use? Thanks in advance
Thanks so much! It’s the Wahoo Roam V2. Really helpful and worked perfectly the whole ride 👌
Things have come a long way. Joining the army in 1974 I could imagine the response if a recruit had approached the Master Chef stating that he was a Vegan , Lactose Intolerant, wheat adverse or had a nut allergy. He would have been told not to take the p!ss and placed immediately on kitchen fatigues!
Lucky I didn’t bump into him then 😂
Any particular reason you chose to do the JOG-LE direction instead of LE-JOG?
Originally it was because I live in South East England and I didn’t want the longer train journey home at the end. But I’m definitely glad I did do it that way round, I was fitter by the time I reached Cornwall which helped a lot!
Hi there, nice adventure. What brand tires did you ride on?
Heya
These are Continental Ultra Sports 28mm
Hi can I please ask what size bike you ride and how tall are u thanks 😊
Heya, I’m around 175cm and have he bike is a medium 👍
Thanks 👍
Do you have details of the route you did? Thanks
I have them on my Strava history but not saved anywhere. I used cycle.travel and just tried to find places to camp that were as close to the route it gave me 👍
Always worries me seeing cyclists with loose chin straps,in event of accident ,will not offer enough protection.
Yeah you’re right, did manage to get it sorted later in the trip but I think I’d just left it loose from when I had my hood under the helmet in the cold. Lesson learnt 👊
I did lejog in 96 ,on CTC route sheets + maps, took many a wrong turning ,so Probably lost in every county, but always said best holiday ever had.
@@danpinner1873 unforgettable for sure!
I don't know how vegans survive, let alone vegan cyclists riding LeJog? Why is it that vegan food tries to mimic meat? I was vegetarian for 11 years. It ruined my health. Been eating meat and lots of it, for a about 15 years now. Took me about 3-4 years to recover from a vegetarian diet. I was for ever run down knackered and getting injuries that wouldn't heal particularly calf injuries, but now these have gone. Back to full fitness and strength like I am 16 years old again. I eat a a very low carb, no sugar, meat and lots of leafy greens, salads and non starchy veg. I don't touch processed food any more. Cook my meals from scratch. Have never felt better. I eat 3-4 eggs a day either as an omlette or scrambled eggs, poached or fried. Lots of oily fish sardines, mackerel, organic free range chicken and a thick juicy rump steak once a week. As I say I feel great, lots of energy. I can ride so much further and faster than I used to and also not feel so knackered after. Recovery now is much improved. Don't eat bread or grains or any wheat, pasta or any of that processed crap. Only fruit I eat are berries raspberries, blueberries and strawberries.
Heya, glad you’re feeling better again! I just ate whatever I was craving whilst out on the ride to be honest, lots of options out there 👊
It’s interesting how different bodies function on different foods. It seems the best thing to do while you find out what works for you is to avoid processed food altogether.
How do you know if someone is Vegan?.....they will tell you
