The disharmony of the song truly captures the feeling of being trapped by illusions: confusion, and fear.
What I found is that you have a beautiful melody in there that is really distored and low. It makes it sound more imposing but also distored by age? Sometimes it also sounds as if the focused and devious approach of Lady butterfly sings with/dances/fights with the regret and despair of wolf.

I fought Lady Butterfly before Genichiro, and my god does this song perfectly capture the panic and confusion of fighting your first fast human enemy in Sekiro. Probably my favorite ost in the game
Same, she was crazy. But I locked in and beat her without ressurections. Phase 1 is super fun but the phase 2’s small orbs that home at you while she’s attacking sucks
As many, I fought Lady Butterfly even before Gyoubu Oniwa and I clearly remember that she taught me how to correctly deflect... I totally see her as a grandmother and the wistfulness of the music reflects the despair with which I carried out my first shinobi execution.
These strings are just fantastic. Their frantic dance almost makes me dizzy!
Like the string she delicately walks on during the fight itself. Simply masterful.
You are dancing with an illusion controller
Every souls game and Armored Core 6 will eventually have you fight an old person that you'd prefer not to.
