Genichiro is actually a really interesting character especially since he fulfills the role of the rival. He desires kuro’s blessing but you’re the one who has it so he tries to prove himself superior, he also has some form of immortality and resurrection and he has the other mortal blade! And another thing is you fight him at various points in the game, the beginning, middle, and end each time showing just how much you’ve progressed in skill and abilities.

I love Gyoubu, man. When I first played Sekiro, the mini bosses were tough and all, but they didn't seem that interesting. I could tell I'm fighting against mini bosses... But when I saw Gyoubu's entrance, bro, that was one of the hypest things I've experienced early game. I was like "THIS is a real boss". While he was easier than the Chained Ogre, he gave me one of the most epic fights I've had in a long time in gaming. His fight was when I truly started appreciating the music and the game. Because that music was so epic during the fight, bro. I'd hear the part after 2:00 when he charges with that circling attack, and my heart would be bouncing while trying not to die. Love this game, love this boss.
