I'm only 36 but I won't pretend that this thought hasn't crossed my mind many times... "Whatever happens, you can't die until you've platinum'd Rebirth" 😂
Damn, has there ever been a game that deserves an hour long trailer release review… for less than half of the total game… and it only scratches surface? The world they’ve created is just incredible. As a dude in his 40s, I share Max’s giddiness right now. For me this blows away every other fantasy story whether book, movie or game.
I feel exactly the same way. I wouldn’t say FFVII is my favorite game, but I’d say it’s my favorite media product as a whole (the main game mind you) the trailer blew my mind.
@asu5632 exactly, when I first played ff9 I'm like "4 PARTY MEMBERS YEAAAAHHHH!!" I also can't pick my party however way back in the day I had cloud Barrett and Cid because each of their best limit breaks hit multiple times and were badass. But damn Tifa looking thicc in this game now
The original story was like this but after the first game I have no idea what they are gonna do. Ff7 had such a great beautiful simple story and they already changed it in remake.
Since Max asked for it: we're told that FF7 Rebirth has approximately 100 hours of gameplay across 2 discs, so 166 Days until Feb 29th x 24 Hours per Day = 3984 Hours ÷ 50 Hours per Disc = roughly *80 Discs until Rebirth comes out!* 🤓
Yessss an hour video while Max geeks out and theorizes FF7 Rebirth? I’m not complaining. Wasn’t having a good day, but this upload make me smile. Thanks Max :) Great job editors :)
I am pretty sure Vincent will be playable. Not only he is a very popular character, but I am pretty sure he will join before Cosmo Canyon and Gold Saucer. The one that will not be playable will be Cid, because how late he will join the party (Rocket Town will not be too far from City of the Ancients).
There is no one I trust more than Max when it comes to Final Fantasy announcements and theorizing. Also, mad props to those editors, hearing FF7 music in the background while Max is nerding out about the game almost brought a tear to my eye.
savor these moments while we can, y'all... some time in the future there won't be any more FF7 content to create, and we'll look back on these videos as the good times. enjoy it!
It always seems like the hype train starts with a Max Dood video. It's nice to have a safe place to build my excitement. In a way, Max's videos elevate the game experience for me.
You can feel the love. This man spent a couple of hours after the state of play going through the trailer, the tweets, the ps blog interview to talk about FF7 rebirth even when he was gonna stream again in the evening lol
Well it makes sense FF7 is the best final fantasy game ever made at least imo even tho I did like FF16 nothing will beat FF7 for me nothing that game is a masterpiece to me
The stuff about the order of events changing (so the Forgotten Capital is later in the story) is interesting when you consider the fact that if you hack Aerith into your party in the original game from Disc 2 onwards, in a select few scenes she has unique dialog if she's in your party around Icicle Inn. May be some indication Aerith was originally meant to be in the party for longer or order of events got shifted around late in development. I hope this is the case because having Aerith there for the scene where you find Gast's house could be cool
I think people forget that the Aerith leaving your party at Temple of the Ancient thing can also be shifted. I think Aerith would leave the party after Temple and Icicle Inn. (Prof. Gast + Elmyra history + Cloud being tempted to give the Dark Materia) are good breaking points for her to leave and then we launch into the party looking around for her.
It's no secret that Barret was originally supposed to die. Whether it be the picture of Aerith under the Highwind or what you mentioned, it all ties back to the original plan
Originally, Aerith was supposed to die at the Northern Crater, stabbed by the real Sephiroth(the shirtless one). That's why we see him gloveless, when falling down to stab her in the OG. Because that was originally the shirtless Sephiroth model.
I always jump to Max whenever there’s new news with Final Fantasy coverage. I’m not even a huge fan of his or anything, but the passion and excitement he covers stuff with his contagious!
Same! Personally I do like to experience the trailers myself first and go through all the emotions and then I like to watch Max go through it too and it’s just amazing!
I just love that even while randomly ranting about the whole plot all over the place, Max still manages to have enough restrain to not spoil the biggest turning event of the story for all the newcomers. Same goes for the chat, you guys all rock !
We all know the biggest spoiler of this game, it has been memed to death over the years. I've never played FF7 and I know all the spoilers, this game is like Star Wars, the spoilers are now part of our gaming culture. Besides there's another spoiler in the logo, I remember hearing about that too and other things related to that thing. When I played FFXV I noticed that these final fantasy games have spoilers on their logos 😅 ... I'm still enjoying the Remake though, the combat not so much, but the story is decent, even knowing who won't make it to the end of the game 😅 . FF7 spoilers are irrelevant at this point, they are everywhere.
Doods, I can’t stop watching these videos…. I’m so obsessed with Rebirth it consumes all of my free time. It legit pains me to have to sit here and wait for any new news… But these videos and listening to others talk about FF7 that care about it as much as I do definitely helps.
But seriously, I can’t wait to dig into this game. I put about 80 hours playing remake. An hour long Ff7 video really just made my day. Appreciate it max. Looking forward to exploring this adventure with all you gamers 👏🏾
This might sound a bit strange, but I hope we go into Cosmo Canyon for the first time during a deep sunset as reference the original, it's such an atmospheric vibe.
@@RoseOfNight It was amazing. When a person or company you looked up to say that you're their inspiration as well, you have no other option but to cry tears is joy. Like..who can say that? Who can say that the Final Fantasy Team is inspired by your work? Max can.
I love how everybody blames the "typical Nomura crypticness" in his answers, when Nomura was asked the most spoilery questions. Like, how else was he supposed to answer? 😂 You can't just flat out tell us where the game will end nor spoil seph (as well as others) being "fully" playable if he is. If he's not, that's on us fans, not the creators, for expecting more than given
Well, to be fair, they were more or less specifically asking about Vincent being playable and the answer does not adress that at all. They were pretty upfront with Red not being playable in Remake so it's weird Nomura is being this vague about Vincent. Maybe they're saving that as a surprise for the next trailer, who knows.
@@0909Alzif we can't control Vincent or Cid will be so sad dude, if this ends in Forgotten Capital then we'll never be able to control all 9 characters together T_T
@@0909Alz I thought the implication of that response was pretty clear, which is that Vincent won’t be playable in Rebirth. I was honestly confused why Max was so confused by that answer at all.

Speaking of the fun with materia in OG, i always remember accidentally discovering one of the most ridiculous combos: against a single target, Reflect-All on the party, Enemy skill-Aqualung on the party. Aqualung, which normally hits all enemies once, gets reflected three times as single target, tripling damage. So many fun tricks to discover
Imagine Rebirth just ends completely with a cutscene where Sephiroth coming down from above you, hands on the hilt of his sword with the blade getting closer to and closer and then it just fades to black. Imagine how pissed we would all be.
That doesn’t work. The Walking Dead has proved this with the infamous Negan scene. It is better from a story perspective to have the blade impale, see her die, and have the characters leave and feel raw with emotions of loss. Then let the credits roll. THAT would traumatize a new generation in a relevant way.
46:40 Sephiroth in the battle simulator would be incredible. Also, I like the concept of the Forgotten City being shifted after the glacier sequence, as we would be able to see Aerith’s reaction to her old house, and the tapes of Ifalna talking with Gast
The cover art is great. The colors of the sky is different. Assuming the gloomy green in Cloud is fighting against fate. Sephiorth with his meteor destruction. And the light clear skies of Zack's fate has been changed. Thinking the death of Aerith, Zack and Cloud witnessing it, will merge the 2 timelines. In the end, Zack will be a hero and sacrifice himself to save Aerith and she will save the current world. Maybe the current Cloud wont be in wheelchair but the Cloud in Zack's timeline will be in it. Zack would either be alone or have different team members.
Tifa gave him that good hump in the past and now he's sprung....she put that good stank stank on him, his nose all up there. Johnny can't hold back lol
Man I saw this live with like 3 hours of sleep and on an adrenaline high with how excited I was for rebirth and I love watching Max talk about all things FF7 and all his playthrough I've rewatched like multiple times his excitement is infectious and you can see how much he loves this game also the fact that I've replayed remake like 12 times I have a problem I know... but I love it and I platinum the ps4 version and didn't upload the save for ps5 for the free platinum and went for through the game again just to get platinum with a fresh save I can't wait for rebirth
I love this game so much I was actually also very happy when I noticed I had the chance to platinum it again 😅 Now with the developers confirming REMAKE was a merely a draft compared to REBIRTH..... The hype has never been so high for me 🎉
Now THIS is the video I was waiting for. I thought for sure that Max was gonna make a 30-minute reaction vid to the trailer yesterday, going ham about the game, but it only ended up being 16 minutes long. Now my dude drops the hour-long BOMB 💣💪 so glad. Teach me sensei 🙏 my spirit is ready.
@@cambotech5556 I drive all around my city going to different sites picking up construction samples, I usually drive 3-6 hours a day depending on my pickups.
We’ve always talked about “hey I wonder how this area is going to be translated and how will that town look etc” but what’s really exciting now is that there’s no real point of comparison for a ton of Rebirth because while yes there were secrets to find, the world map has never been a designed space for you to inhabit in this way. It’s just a means of going from one area to another. Now suddenly it’s huge and explorable with landmarks and places we’ve never really seen before. I can’t wait.
i agree with MAx. Knights of the Round should be this big, exciting, end-game thing that you have to achieve in the finale, not something thrown into game 2. I'd like it to be a secrete key to save the world or something epic. Something has to be done to give tribute to that legendary summon.
Yeah I could see something like it being the group of Cetra who stood against Jenova and imprisoned her back in the past. The planet thanked them by keeping them as a materia for the next generation of planet defenders to aid them.
@@brookswilliams5239: Alternate hypothesis-- They're the Lifestream's version of The Arbiters of Fate, like "Arbiters of Life". ["You've become such a danger to this planet (as opposed to timeline) that we have judged you must die".] And if the summon's power has to be tied to a summoner, then perhaps the Ancients used the summons to try and stop Jenova but couldn't eradicate her/it. When that happened, and they realized they may not be around to use the summons to stop her (or anything similar) again, they or the Planet created the Weapons to provide autonomous defense in their place.
Frankly, they don't even have to move locations to make your theory work, Max. Perhaps Cloud and friends pass through the Forgotten Capital, learn about it's history and significance from Aerith and (possibly) Red XIII. They basically say "Huh, neat" and move on. They climb the glacier, Sephiroth summons Meteor, Cloud and friends climb back down the glacier to hurry back to the Capital. Since the capital has already had its significance told to the player, things can play out there as we're familiar with.
Except you can't access Forgotten Capital without the Lunar Harp to guide us through Sleeping Forest, so it's not a place one can simply pass through. It's not a place you stumble upon and simply move on with just a "huh neat", but a place you go only if you have a reason to. The whole lore around the Forgotten Capital is that the Cetras protected it (ofc they would, otherwise Shinra would have sacked it long ago in search of Mako).
@@Satoascorpion Then do tell why they would go there without a purpose then only to double back. Like, I'm genuinely curious. The reason they went there in OG is to rescue Aerith from Sephiroth? What would or even could be the additional reason to go there?
@@themisheika Assuming the order of events change, I proposed a twist on the order of events, without having to adjust the physical locations of important places. You must pass through the Forgotten Capital to get to the glacier in the original game. In my proposition, the group is all together, rather than rushing after Aerith. On their way up to the glacier, where Sephiroth is, they pass through the Capital. Because we're changing the order of events, nothing happens here right now. Instead they learn what the place is, the importance of it in history, and now you've introduced this element to the story. The party continues up the glacier. You snowboard, climb the mountain, get mind-twisted by Sephiroth. They witness him summon meteor. The party, probably by Aerith's urging guidance, double-back to the Capital. This is when the "moment" everyone anticipated before could happen. I have additional ideas to tie it all together, such as Shinra being willing to fly them to the capital and arresting them only after Avalanche's mission in the Capital is a failure; but this was what I was more or less trying to say before. This also ties into Max's theory of the game ending right here, with everything at its worst.
@@Satoascorpion Except that Icicle Inn, despite its story accessibility being blocked until after Forgotten City in OG, is clearly otherwise accessible to common folk without having to go through Sleeping Forest since many story chars have visited it prior (Ifalna and Gast, as well as Hojo and his Shinra guards, also Elena and her entourage for ex) without going through Forgotten Capital.
OG FF7 shaped my childhood/teen years. It’s my favorite piece of media by a long shot. It’s the standard by which I’ve judged every game movie and tv show since. Nothing has ever come close until, of course, these new games.
I think ending Part 2 with Aerith's final outcome, it would be for the best. Keeps everyone invested in wondering what will happen with her as well as allowing us to play the game start to finish with her in the party so nothing feels wasted on her. That was my big issue the first time I played the original, she was a quintessential part of my team and all the work I did for her felt for nothing.
@@PhantomMiria22Sephiroth apparently wishes to merge Zack and the Main World this time, it's not out of league that he might do something to Aerith seeking to achieve this, be it kill her or kidnapp her and etc. I just wish that Sephiroth wins in the end of part 2, because the last part of the trailer is cleary the final boss, and since they are going for Sephiroth being the final boss in the 3 parts, i wish that he's the winner this time.
@@renren47618I agree on the Sephiroth winning thing. I don't mind the concept of "saving Aerith", but the game should end with an emotional gut punch in some shape or form.
I have a feeling they're gonna make you think she's gonna be saved but then out of nowhere probably not even in the city of the ancients it'll happen. Aerith knows she needs to die in order for the world to be saved. It's the whole reason she tells cloud not to fall for her. Especially in this version
55:28 "If they show Aerith in snow, shit has changed". Great analysis and something to keep an eye out in upcoming trailers/screenshots. It'll be like in RE4 remake, where they showed Luis and Leon fighting the double El Gigante. In the original Luis is already dead by that point, so the trailer showed that stuff has changed. I believe they're gonna do the same with Aerith.
@@AigisVibes720correct me if im wrong, im not playing the OG RE4/FF7 but..... in RE4 remake louis dead can be played out and not changing story right ? How about FF7 ?
@@remondewa6224 Yeah, it really didn’t change the story significantly. We do get to spend more time with Luis in the remake compared to the OG RE4. So I’m sure it’ll be the same with Aerith.
Sephiroth acting on his own in OG FF7 really reinforced his uncontrollable, untouchable status within the narrative and helped solidify his identity for many gamers. No doubt it would be very cool to control him in Rebirth, but I wouldn’t be majorly upset if he remained a guest character as a preservation of the original narrative intent.
Too bad the original narrative intent, already went out the window in Remake, when we beat him at the end. We see him on his knee while staggered, and then he literally explodes. Remake destroyed his untouchable aura.
@@Ukaran incorrect. That was destroyed a lot earlier when what Cloud thought was Sephiroth was falling all over him like a crazed groupie in the apartment. There was a lot of touching in that scene for sure…
FF7R Max going full Charlie Kelly with the bulletin board string is one of my favorite things. I think he's spot on at some, if not most points, and off his rocker with others (Going to go out on a limb here and say there will be no Metroidvania-ing of chocobos in the world map & Im not sure what he expects from these large zones aside from fighting random encounters, treasure chests, and walking. Its not TOTK) but im here for it whenever he does. Hyped for everything coming with this game, including Max's reactions.
We have been so blessed by what we are getting at least from what they have been telling us and shown us so far. Loved your discussions and thoughts Max!
The video could be longer! I could listen to it during my whole day at my job. Listening to Max philosophing on FF7 s*it is the most uplifting thing to do to bridge the time until the launch of the game.
Cloud hands over the black materia to Sephiroth and *then* Aerith runs off on her own to the capital to start her prayer. This would make the reasons and narrative causation of events much clearer than it was in the first game. This would be an improvement all around, as the original definitely had some issues with clarity that went beyond just the translation.
"Fans are dying to see one scene in particular..." Hell yeah we are, Nanaki in a shinra guard outfit trying to walk on two legs during the voyage to Costa Del Sol.
“Whether you have experienced the original title or will embark on this adventure with fresh eyes, we hope you will face the ending of this work ON YOUR OWN TERMS”. That honestly gives me hope that we’ll be able to choose who gets the Masamune…..
Bro, I SCREAMED and blew up some friends' PMs in Discord when Vincent appeared in the trailer. If he's not an official/full party member in Rebirth, I'm gonna be so sad. Of course I'll still play and likely enjoy tf out of the game, but- give me Vincenzo Valentino LOL! I need him!!
Tbh another reason to move the forgotten capital to after the reunion, or at least the snowy city, is cause in the snowy city is where Aerith' mom and Gast actually ran off to live toghetor and escape Hojo, so having Aerith there to react to it would be neat (and even in the og cut content, she got some lines up to Northern crater)
Since we know the devs are watching this, I'm now FULLY expecting a shady GP dealer to randomly appear at the Gold Saucer. "Hey kid. GP lookin a little low? ... I'll hook you up...!"
Im thinking the game is going to end at the Northern Crater with Cloud going missing. Next game will have Vincent and Cid as playable characters from the get go, since Cid is the "leader" in a way while Cloud is MIA in the OG game. Just my prediction though.
I think I speak for everyone when I say we can't wait for you to release multiple hours of blowing our minds about things we don't realize when we play through the next installment.
If the universe really is endless, where there’s infinite worlds inside of infinite universes with an infinite amount of possibilities. Then does that mean that one of those worlds in the vast cosmos there’s a possibility that the events of Final Fantasy VII is actually taking place….? I’d like to go there!
Nomura says there was a possibility during development where Sephiroth was not going to be playable, but since this was a valuable chance to experience him, he asked the dev team to make him playable
so much INFORMATION i like the bit about summons and max's thoughts on knights of the round having story / quests attached to them. i think that'd be super interesting. beyond finding summon materia or engaging the VR mode, having summons abound in the world to recruit or quests exploring their lore in some way would be awesome. very excited for rebirth!
Hypotheses: What if, assuming to *do* make at least some summons story points, they represent the Lifestream's pre-Jenova-arrival attempts to protect the planet? If they put Bahamut ZERO in, he could have been their defense satellite-type protection if you consider how his animation had him attack FROM SPACE. And Knights of the Round? The Lifestream's version/imitation of The Arbiters of Fate that made the final stand to seal Jenova away. When that failed to keep Jenova from wreaking so much destruction, then the Lifestream (I keep using this in place of Planet; it could be one or the other) created the Weapons for a more effective defense. Alternate possible reasoning could be that if the power of the summons is tied to a Summoner, and the Ancients were the ones using them to fight Jenova, either they or the Planet created the Weapons afterward in recognition that the Planet needed autonomous defense if/when the Ancients get wiped out or disappear.
Another theory to consider: Nomura says that the locations depicted in this game will extend up to the Forgotten Capital, where the greatest fate of Final Fantasy VII awaits you. What if this refers to the time you revisit the Forgotten Capital with Bugenhagen, and you get to see the crystal with the waterfall depicting Aerith's prayer answered and you realize that Holy has been activated?
Dude that’s after meteor, after the highwind, after finding cloud, and after the 4 huge materias… i would love it but i can’t see it going that far even if they move things around
I think there's an important distinction to be made between "Order of Events" and "Extended up to locations" The first is story, the second is what's available for the story to play through. So the plot point can occur and we do reach the Forgotten Capital, but then move elsewhere.
my prediction is Zack and Sephiroth will be the characters that join the party but wont be fully playable until part 3. Like the devs stated in the interview... And Rebirth we get cait sith, cid and vincent. well thats what im hoping for XD you never know how itll turn out tho
@@JungKooksTwin This is kinda what i was thinking. I had a theory that Cloud could 'die' as a twist at the end of Rebirth. And it will hint that Zack will be the lead in part 3. Cloud will come back eventually though. Maybe it's a switcheroo with Aerith, but then Aerith will have to sacrfice herself to bring Cloud back and restore the timeline.
So just like kingdom hearts! If Cloud dies and then appears in verum Rex in kh4 accompanying Sora which releases after rebirth and before the third finale.. That's such a Nomura thing I'd believe it.
Another possibility is that Aerith having seen her own death the party would go to North Crater first, the party loses Cloud and then Aerith goes to the Cetra City to summon Holy instead of doing it beforehand.
I think it is better for the Forgotten City to be moved for later. It gives the chance for Aerith to find out more about her parents and everything that happened when she was a child.
In OG7 we didn't see meteor in the sky until the party were prisoners in Junon. I think in this game we're going to see Meteor in the sky and weapons unleashed before Aerith goes to cast Holy. In OG7 she knew Sephiroth had the Black Materia and that he was going to use it to summon Meteor. So she went to cast Holy in order to deal with it. It was her nuclear option, when Cloud failed to resist Sephiroth's influence. To take the burden off his shoulders, and to save the planet with resolve. In Rebirth, I think we're going to see meteor and the weapons first, we're going to see the world falling apart and people panicking at Mideel (end of the world comments in the trailer are straight from OG7 Mideel script, as I mentioned below). And we've seen screens of Meteor already, we've seen it in visions the party were given in Remake, and we've seen glimpses in the trailer. So I think that's going to happen, and it would make sense if like Max speculates here, they just move those plot points up in the game timeline, because for Meteor to be cast (and it is cast, that's why we get the Mideel end of the world dialogue in the trailer), the black materia has to be brought to Sephiroth's body in the northern crater already. If they do move the plot points around this way, then we might be visiting Icicle Inn with Aerith - and discovering her life with Ifalna and Ghast there, with her. Which would be weird, but also potentially even more impactful. But the northern crater is also where we lose Cloud, and rediscover him in order to get him back, and that's all post-Aerith, post-Highwind. So it'd be trouble to go that far in Rebirth, where it seems like it's set to conclude with the end of disc 1. So that line "The world's ending. At least that's what everyone's saying," from the trailer really bothers me, it's confusing. It suggests that meteor is in play already, but that requires so much more story than where it looks like Rebirth is set to conclude.
Something that I dunno if Max covered here, had to step away for a bit during the stream, but they released the story premise for Rebirth which gives us some more interesting little bits to suck from the glorious lore teat. So. After the events of Remake, Cloud and his friends leave Midgar to explore the wide open lands beyond. MEANWHILE (implying this is happening at the same time), a bruised and battered Zack hobbles across the wastelands into Midgar while carrying a mako-poisoned Cloud. He has managed to escape death...for now. But an ominous rift in the sky gives him little reason to celebrate. (Interesting, what is this rift!? And what's with the two Clouds!? (It's most likely them hiding multiple timelines as a reveal.)) That is far from the only threat facing the world, however. The Shinra Resistance Committee, backed by Wutai's interim government, is declaring war on the company. Figures shrouded in black robes carry the corpse of Jenova, a veritable calamity from another world. Weapons, the fierce guardians of the planet, have now awakened. (Already!?) Amid this chaos, Sephiroth has set his plan in motion, thus ensuring myriad fates intertwine and are birthed anew.
😮 Where did you find that? Is that official promo text? If so they've basically confirmed the timeline "theory". I mean, it isn't exactly a theory as Remake is pretty clear in its intentions. But still, some people are convinced that isn't where the story is going. If they've basically confirmed it now it puts those arguments to rest.
I remember seeing a youtube video showing that Aerith actually had voice lines that popped up in the snow area if you used hacks to have her show up post death. Meaning that perhaps the location of the forgotten capital was possibly moved around even in the development of the original game
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't moving forgotten city past the reunion break the story? because the events of the northern crater split the party, unless they make them concurrent maybe and Cloud falls into the lifestream right after Aerith's scene somehow.
I think it could be adjusted in a logical way. Like the reunion happens and the materia is given. The meteor is summoned and aerith takes off to go perform the prayer to counter it. Both sephiroth and team attempt to follow her. The events that are expected happen and the activation of prayer is what pulls cloud into the lifestream.
Wild thought. What if this series actually does merge with the original series, but we first have this two timelines from Remake merge in Rebirth, but then in Reunion (third game) that the only way to "fix" things is merge the current series to the old series at its end. Though, that would probably suggest that Reunion will end much later than the original series did if you want to do that. Before you write it off, this is totally a thing Nomura would do.
So senergy skills based on growth between characters and their interactions means when cloud is party leader, Gold Saucer date night matters, because I bet that'll be a CRAZY senergy booster between him and who ever we choose to go with
When it comes to KOtR - It should randomly summon one of the 13 knights to fight in battle with you, but the Knight that is chosen ,it's appearance and abilities should be based on one of the Job classes from the FF series, e.g Dark knight, Black mage ,Dragoon etc and when it's time is up , then you get the big Finisher with all 13 Knights
Maybe the Choco breeding is just for racing making it an optional thing you can do rather than a necessary thing for map exploration. The grindy bit for me from OG FF7 was tracking down the right Greens you had to feed 'em
I was laughing at Max's implication that translating Nomurian text is one of those things similar to what a family has to put up with from their crazy grandpa or something XD
There is one key thing that would be crucial to remember for any analysis of the visuals from the trailer and the series and sequence of events concerning how far and how much that Rebirth will cover: The path would naturally travel into [Cosmo Canyon]. Who do you meet there? Grandpa /Bugenhagen/. And what does he do? *Give you a complete breakdown of the cycle of events of the planet, should the lifestream die.* It's gonna be a hell of a ride. And there ain't no gettin' offa this train we're on.
For clarification, they’ve already confirmed that both CID and VINCENT will be present in rebirth, like RED was in remake, but won’t be playable until the last game.
i always thought --mnigames and the world map was a great thing--something to chill between all that fightning--something to look for .. thats what final fantasy was for me back then besides combat.. i hope square brings that back w other remakes if we ever get them..and off course if there is a final fantasy 17.
The limited playable characters makes sense as it encourages you to use them all. In the o.g, it was easy to neglect some and choose the ones you liked the most. Introducing them gradually means you get a lot more playtime with each and have new mechanics in each part of the trilogy to look forward to.
I take the Nomuraism from the story part this way: "Loctaions up to City" refers to the original stuff. So maybe Aerith stuff is 70% there and then some locations that would be before the city would be after.
Max theorising about FF7 is just one of my favourite things to watch. He's truly in his element.

I wouldn’t say FFVII is my favorite game, but I’d say it’s my favorite
media product as a whole (the main game mind you) the trailer blew my mind.
Same
We’ll said. How I feel. Ff7 characters are amazing. I sometimes wish it was a 4 team party cause I can’t choose my 3 when you get everybody
Since Max asked for it: we're told that FF7 Rebirth has approximately 100 hours of gameplay across 2 discs, so 166 Days until Feb 29th x 24 Hours per Day = 3984 Hours ÷ 50 Hours per Disc = roughly *80 Discs until Rebirth comes out!* 🤓
☝ Not all heroes wear capes. (Or use 6ft-long swords.)
80 discs? Hey, not bad!
😂😂🤣
🔥🔥🔥
78 discs
Yessss an hour video while Max geeks out and theorizes FF7 Rebirth? I’m not complaining. Wasn’t having a good day, but this upload make me smile. Thanks Max :) Great job editors :)
Right?! Same
I am pretty sure Vincent will be playable.
Listening to Max talk FF7 is always a treat.
Best content
i enjoy it as much as playing the games
savor these moments while we can, y'all... some time in the future there won't be any more FF7 content to create, and we'll look back on these videos as the good times. enjoy it!
The editors deserve a raise.

this!!!
You can feel the love. This man spent a couple of hours after the state of play going through the trailer, the tweets, the ps blog interview to talk about FF7 rebirth even when he was gonna stream again in the evening lol
FF7 truly is that game, even after all these years.

I hope this is the case because having Aerith there for the scene where you find Gast's house could be cool
ahhh would be so cool, the fact that we found stuff about professor Gust right after her you know what always break my heart
If Vincent and Cid won't be playable, we'll only have 9 characters playable if Aerith dies further than Forgotten Capital...
Same. Only stuff of his I really watch is the Final Fantasy stuff.
Same! Personally I do like to experience the trailers myself first and go through all the emotions and then I like to watch Max go through it too and it’s just amazing!
SAME Ahahaha he just has THE PASSION
Everyone knows Aeris dies, in the original game.
I couldn’t help but bust out laughing when Max acted out as a shady drug dealer

The fact that the game is releasing on a leap year just adds to its greatness!!!!!
Yeah it's such a cool small thing, that it's actually on the 29th
It will be "leaping" great!
This is definitely a high end love letter and passion project. What a time to be playing video games.
I'm convinced that the Square Enix guys watch Max's video and just put everything he wants/speculates into the game

You can't just flat out tell us where the game will end nor spoil seph (as well as others) being "fully" playable if he is.

Hi Bltzz!
Imagine Rebirth just ends completely with a cutscene where Sephiroth coming down from above you, hands on the hilt of his sword with the blade getting closer to and closer and then it just fades to black.
Imagine how pissed we would all be.
I'd be fuming and excited at thee same time.
Why would I be pissed? We know she dies 😂
@@colinnixon7739But we wanna see her die 🤣
That doesn’t work. The Walking Dead has proved this with the infamous Negan scene. It is better from a story perspective to have the blade impale, see her die, and have the characters leave and feel raw with emotions of loss. Then let the credits roll.
THAT would traumatize a new generation in a relevant way.
He said negan......lmaoooo......boy that series was something else. All the characters to me were great

A freaking Hour of FF7 discussion?!? My body is ready
i agree with MAx.
@brookswilliams5239 this would be really cool
@@brookswilliams5239: Alternate hypothesis--
They're the Lifestream's version of The Arbiters of Fate, like "Arbiters of Life".
You aren't making the counter-argument you think you are. I never said anything about "stumbling upon" it.
Yeah I agree, I didn't ever use her on any additional playthroughs just because of that.
That is if she even dies this time around. Sephiroth may want to change that outcome given he lost in the end doing so.
Exactly my thoughts! I feel like what they did with RE4 remake is what they’ll do with FF7 Rebirth.

Yes sir. The Max deep dive. Always amazing.

FF7 is the greatest game of our lives
Bro, I SCREAMED and blew up some friends' PMs in Discord when Vincent appeared in the trailer. If he's not an official/full party member in Rebirth, I'm gonna be so sad. Of course I'll still play and likely enjoy tf out of the game, but- give me Vincenzo Valentino LOL! I need him!!
We need a new "Reunion" with the Easy Allies guys! DO IT!!
He makes the game even more better than it already was
1h de conteúdo do max sobre ff7 tornou meu dia muito melhor
im here after max finished the game. still love hearing these theories
I could seriously watch Max nerd out over FF7 stuff for hours.
Nomura says there was a possibility during development where Sephiroth was not going to be playable, but since this was a valuable chance to experience him, he asked the dev team to make him playable
so much INFORMATION
i like the bit about summons and max's thoughts on knights of the round having story / quests attached to them. i think that'd be super interesting. beyond finding summon materia or engaging the VR mode, having summons abound in the world to recruit or quests exploring their lore in some way would be awesome.
very excited for rebirth!
Hypotheses:
What if, assuming to *do* make at least some summons story points, they represent the Lifestream's pre-Jenova-arrival attempts to protect the planet?
The golden saucer date scene gonna be the new dressed to the nines trophy. Getting ready to do it 34 times. And I’m going for barret first lmfao
Love listening Max talking about FF7. Makes me even more hyped for the game!
I think there's an important distinction to be made between "Order of Events" and "Extended up to locations" The first is story, the second is what's available for the story to play through. So the plot point can occur and we do reach the Forgotten Capital, but then move elsewhere.
I noticed that Zack has green materia on his buster sword. I have a feeling that almost confirms hes playable.
Definitely. They’ll probably incorporate some mechanics from crisis core perhaps?
they better add Zack's battle theme otherwise the rebirth will suck by .5 percent.
my prediction is Zack and Sephiroth will be the characters that join the party but wont be fully playable until part 3.
(It's most likely them hiding multiple timelines as a reveal.))
That is far from the only threat facing the world, however. The Shinra Resistance Committee, backed by Wutai's interim government, is declaring war on the company. Figures shrouded in black robes carry the corpse of Jenova, a veritable calamity from another world. Weapons, the fierce guardians of the planet, have now awakened. (Already!?)
Amid this chaos, Sephiroth has set his plan in motion, thus ensuring myriad fates intertwine and are birthed anew.
@@JoshWiniberg I think it's on the website? Not entirely sure. Audrey on Twitter shared it.
That's it!!! It should be a real actual class for final fantasy 7 and max should be the teacher .
So senergy skills based on growth between characters and their interactions means when cloud is party leader, Gold Saucer date night matters, because I bet that'll be a CRAZY senergy booster between him and who ever we choose to go with
I watched the VOD after the steam and I'm watching this video cuz the editors are incredible
I was laughing at Max's implication that translating Nomurian text is one of those things similar to what a family has to put up with from their crazy grandpa or something XD
an hour long Max Video
All I need now is a week long of Max joining Podcasts and I'll be set until Rebirth
I'm waiting for another collab with Easy Allies. They were freaking the F out about it too.
There is one key thing that would be crucial to remember for any analysis of the visuals from the trailer and the series and sequence of events concerning how far and how much that Rebirth will cover:
The path would naturally travel into [Cosmo Canyon]. Who do you meet there? Grandpa /Bugenhagen/. And what does he do? *Give you a complete breakdown of the cycle of events of the planet, should the lifestream die.*
It's gonna be a hell of a ride. And there ain't no gettin' offa this train we're on.
I will burst into tears if she saves herself 🥹😭
love when max talks about FF7 gives me shivers just how much detail is explained and always gets me hyped for the games
I'm having a tough time at the minute mentally, so a Max hype video on FF7 is a much needed serotonin boost.
Feel better 🙏🙏
For clarification, they’ve already confirmed that both CID and VINCENT will be present in rebirth, like RED was in remake, but won’t be playable until the last game.
i always thought --mnigames and the world map was a great thing--something to chill between all that fightning--something to look for .. thats what final fantasy was for me back then besides combat.. i hope square brings that back w other remakes if we ever get them..and off course if there is a final fantasy 17.
I dont consider the weapons as hugs robots. I am pretty sure they are created by earth.
The limited playable characters makes sense as it encourages you to use them all. In the o.g, it was easy to neglect some and choose the ones you liked the most. Introducing them gradually means you get a lot more playtime with each and have new mechanics in each part of the trilogy to look forward to.
Right….
We’re going to have 7 playable characters….
That’s more than enough
This.
We all have our faves and they had unique unique dialogue, Yuffie and Cid have some gems in OG that can be missed if you don't use them.
I take the Nomuraism from the story part this way: "Loctaions up to City" refers to the original stuff. So maybe Aerith stuff is 70% there and then some locations that would be before the city would be after.
