I know this video is a bit old, but I just want to give my thanks to you. I'm 18, my right hand and arm are paralyzed caused by a birth injury and I've spent my entire life not knowing how to tie my shoes. My parents thought it would be too difficult and never taught me, opting instead to buy me shoes that either didn't have laces or were permanently tied. They had good intentions but I've always felt embarrassed at knowing how to do something that everyone else does. Anyways, I decided recently to finally learn. I've looked at a lot of different tutorials and this is the best one, super clearly explained. It also always makes me happy to see someone with a similar disability to mine successfully doing tasks meant for someone with two hands. Thank you :)
I’ve been looking at tons of one handed shoe tying techniques because I had a stroke and I’m tired of asking people to tie my shoes and this is by far the best one. I got it in under 5 try’s. Thanks a lot man. You’re very helpful.
I had a stroke about couple months ago , and I’m getting little bit sick of occupational therapist , basically saying that I can’t do my daily activities as I did with two hands before, and saying I always need assistance with help, but besides that I am very glad that I seen your comment in this video!! And I’m very grateful I seen this video too
@@flowerw743 don’t listen to those people I lost the use of my left hand and I was hearing the same things mind you I’m 22 so it had me a little sad but it happened last year but I’ll just do it with my right hand and even tho I’m still learning where’s there a will there’s a way remember that
Thank you so so much. My dad just lost his fingers and thumb about 7 weeks ago and he thinks he'd never going to wear lace up shoes/ boots again. He's an avid hunter, fisherman etc. Your way of explaining it is simple, quick and very easygoing. I know this is going to give him a boost of faith. He's had a pretty good attitude but I know he is rightful apprehensive to get back out there and it's going to take time. Thanks!
I have been doing Everything with one hand for 34 years, right arm is paralyzed. I ski, play video games, cook and everything. I never could figure out how to tie my shoes. I am really stubborn but got really frustrated trying. So thank you. I can't believe I have never thought of or learned it.
I had a stroke last year and because of this I am paralyzed on my left side,so I haven’t been able to tie my shoes but because of u an this video I am finally able to,thank u Logan!!
Wife’s been helping me do this for the past two weeks after fracturing my humorous bone here in the Army. Won’t need that help anymore thanks to you man!!
I'm an occupational therapist who is trying to figure out the best technique to tie shoes one handed to use with my patients and this is the best technique I've found! Thank you for sharing
As a fellow unarmed citizen (laugh now) this is genuinely helpful. 14 years of my life has been spent relying on my parents (or cute girls from school) to tie my shoes. Thank you!
I got a pinched nerve and was not able to use my right arm at all for a while. I was tired of asking my roommate to tie my shoes so I looked videos up. This by far was the best one. It's been almost a year. I have function on my arm now. I always try to teach anyone this technique
Thank you for this video. My son was born with one complete hand and I've struggled and put off teaching him how to tie his shoes. He is 7 now and needs to learn! Going to teach him today!
I will lose use of my dominant arm for about two months due to upcoming shoulder surgery so I know my overall situation is more fortunate compared to many others on this thread but I must say this video is very helpful. He does a good job explaining how to do it and it the knot holds all day like he said. After watching this and testing it out, I quickly canceled my Amazon order for Velcro strap sneakers. Thank you again.
The best one-handed method I've seen since lost most of the use of left hand and foot from a head injury in 1990. Have been relying on velcro for the most part since then as every other one-handed method I have found since then has left the shoes way too loose to walk out of the house with. If I kept one of my old shoes from 1989 in one of the boxes I haven't unpacked yet from my last move will try this out before buying another pair of shoes. Thanks for this video!
Thank you so much my left hand is paralyzed sfter a stroke and it means so much to be able to tie my own shoes! Thank you! Now i’m ready to walk out the door whenever i want! See ya on the trail
Thanks for this video I had an accident last year whick left me with a finger and pretty much the use of my fingers , I really appreciate you putting out this content means a lot
Dude, you just saved me. I recently had a table saw accident. An incredible hand surgeon was able to save my thumb, but my left hand is a useless club right now with the way it's stabilized\bandaged.
Hi, my right arm/hand is probably permanently damaged after an infection in october 24. thank you very much for this super helpful video. greetings from bavaria. frank
Do you happen to skate or inline skate? Not sure if I can use that trick there. Will need to try. Normally I tight my skates using a prostatic arm, but I skate without it. I would like to learn how to fasten them so I can take them off on a break.
Hi Logan! We like your video on tying shoes. Our son was born with cerebral palsy and he has extremely limited use of his right arm so he can only use his left arm. I was wondering if you could make a video on how to tie your shoes from a first person perspective. When we watch you on TV we have to do a mirror image basically because where watching in front of us. But if we could have the perspective of you tying your shoes from your perspective it would help people watching you and doing the same thing. Thanks!
Grasty Motorsports Hey! Thank you for the feedback and sharing about your son. That's a great idea! I absolutely will film another video from the first person perspective and better explanation. Stay tuned for it to come out soon! Also, if there are any other tips and tricks or one arm "life hacks" you'd like to see, please comment and I'll do it! Thanks again! 🙏👊💪
If you stroke warrior, please tell me how to wear leg Brace, shoes wear, and tying method by one hand. I'm also stroke warrior for day-to-day activities. Your reply will helpful to me and others also
The more you practise something, the easier it becomes, just dont loose hope, there are plenty of videos like this and there are plenty of people who know what youre going through. It's a new chapter of your life and you can't change that, but you still can enjoy it. Take your time, things will get back to normal as you are getting used to your handicap. No matter how bad life may seem sometimes, there is always something you can do and succeed at.
i thunk this guy looks so awesome cool with only one arm! i wish i knew how to become an awesome amputee? hopefully someone can give me some advice on that
I couldn’t tell you why this is the question I always get. Not like. How do you drive a car or braid your hair or anything else. Shoe laces. They’re baffled.
I love that you shared your joy in doing this everyday task independently!! If learning one handed shoe tying is hard or its too much of a challenge physically to do, us OTs at AskSAMIE like to recommend shoe buttons which can also be used one handed after initial setup! ua-cam.com/video/xp8pTBkLFao/v-deo.html

Wife’s been helping me do this for the past two weeks after fracturing my humorous bone here in the Army. Won’t need that help anymore thanks to you man!!

Yes--thank you SO much for this, Logan. I was able to tie my own shoes with no difficulty for the first time in years using this method!
Thank you Logan for sharing your shoe tying technique. It worked the first try and my shoes are nice and snug on my feet. Can’t thank you enough.
This is the best video I've found. Easily tied, holds the laces nice and tight and it doesn't come loose. Thank you!

Thanks Logan. Best video out there.
Wow, thanks! Glad you liked it!
Brilliant, simply brilliant! Thank you!

Just curious, is this the same not as a normal shoelace.
