Shout out to the sound design on the proton packs. The first time that they turn them on in the elevator is one of my favorite moments in the whole film. The proton packs are one of the most awesome props in film history and their sound design is amazing.
I’ve waited for this for so long. I’m a huge ghostbusters fan like Greg, and I have a 5 year old who has become a huge fan just recently. So it’s ghostbusters overload at our house. Thanks guys!
I just watched this with my young daughter for the first time and it was everything to me. We’re now going through all the Real Ghostbusters cartoons now. I love this movie and this is one of my favorite In Reviews ever. I LOVE your passion and enthusiasm for this movie. I’m like Greg and Nick in that I can also recite every line verbatim. Thanks guys, I LOVE this! It’s special for me.
I don’t know what brings a bigger smile to Greg’s face, reviewing and getting to talk in depth about ghostbusters? Or being a father to probably the luckiest and coolest kid in video games.
What I love about this movie is they make you believe in ghosts because there are a way in capturing them. And 3 smart scientists were the ones to figure it out. The concept is so brilliant with great actors at work. It reminded me how much I loved the Blues Brothers concept.
I only watched Ghostbusters once as a kid before I even knew English and I only remember a few scenes, namely the ending with the giant marshmallow man. I'm currently at Columbia University so I had a blast watching those scenes.
Finally a reason to bring it up, but Greg talking about the mini-ecto thing falling through in the Gregway from a few months ago is legit the most depressing thing
“I appreciate you, already bending to my child’s will, that means a lot to me” then those few moments of lip biting to quell the frog in his throat…that’s one of a plethora of reasons I keep coming get back! I was 5 when my parents took me to see this in the theater, growing up in midtown Manhattan during the 80’s helps this movie keeps very special place in my heart, it’s wonderful to see how it has touched so many!
This movie is still one of the best of all time. I miss the subtle kinda comedy from movies like this. The game that followed up from these movies was awesome as well
After the success of this movie I remember being in the grocery store and some company actually was able to sell stay puft brand marshmallows. I remember seeing them in my local Kroger. As a child I remember being thoroughly confused because they were not an actual brand, then they were in the film, and then about a year after I saw the movie I was convinced that they were an actual brand.
Love that the ads section (time stamps) is like.. 2hours long 😂. Too lazy to scroll down Patreon to watch the ad free one lol. AND I’m LATE TO THE PARTY, BUT DANG ANDY!!!! That was awesome.
I don't get that this isn't a comedy movie. This movie is definitively a comedy, and it is one of the best comedies ever made - especially considering the time it was made.
I watched this movie for the first time last month around Halloween, at the age of 27. I... didn't care for this. It was okay. I tried to watch it once in 2014 & I quit it after like 2 minutes. But it is nice to hear Greg speak so passionately about his love for this movie.
I had forgotten how clever this film is (and was). I hope you guys get around to doing director focused rankings, I'd love to see you go through some real gems by Steven Spielberg, or Paul Verhoeven. There are just so many good films that aren't going to get touched on as they aren't part of a larger universe or reboot etc.
Have to say as someone who is not attached to this series I honestly see a lot of the complaints they have of the original raimi Spider-man movies here but glossed over, especially from Kevin who has a hate campaign against those lol. Loved seeing Greg tho!
I never knew Greg and Po weren’t friends anymore, I’ve heard his name come up several times over the years but genuinely thought they were still close. Damn that gets me, especially with how they still remained ghostbuster nerds til the very end in that conversation.
Two things I always take away from fantastic film: 1-For some reason, I always got the impression that Louis was, not a liar per say, but embellished a lot of his life to sound more interesting than he really was so when we get to his party scene I was always like "oh shit he actually knows a lot of people" and kind of surprised by it 2-Again, I couldn't give you an exact reason, but I just always loved Ernie Hudson in this movie. I think the main reason I can enjoy Ghostbusters 2 is because it gives us a lot more Winston.
Doubt he'll see but Greg would appreciate this.. growing up Egon my favorite! And my favorite toy set that I played with for years til we moved and my folks said it's time to get rid of some toys. But it was the huge Ghostbusters Firehouse set, man I would play sick and stay home from school just to play with that thing.
Tim mentions one fact that I don't think is correct: There's no way Julia Roberts auditioned for Dana since she was only 17 when this movie was released. Unless they were going for a wildly different version of Dana at first.
I feel like they're giving Ghostbusters so much credit for things it doesn't need too. Like background acting and saying that movies don't do that anymore. That's just untrue. Of course movies now have acting in the background, you just don't pay attention to them because you're not watching them for the millionth time.
Shame on Tim and Andy for shutting it down when Greg went to grab his books lol For real though love in review but the best episodes are ones like this where you guys go way deep on the trivia and the in depth plot If I wanted a quick recap I could watch a UA-camrs reaction or someone else’s review but in review to me is best when it’s as long or longer than the movie
Got to say, I was so scared that you guys were going to do this without Greg. Thankfully, there was foresight to prerecord this, though not sure how you’re going to do Afterlife. Unless Greg got to see it early.
Dan Ackroyd really doesn't look like a 6ft tall guy. Bit like Leo, he doesn't doesn't come across as a tall-ish dude but he's like 6ft 1 i think...2 inches taller than Brad Pitt.
Does anyone know when they are going to do the 5 Final Destination movies in Review, maybe even with Devon Sawa? I don't know if there is an announcement or not.
1:31:36 Now don't get me wrong it's a weird scene that you know, like Greg says the fellas thought it was terribly funny and wanted that bj scene. BUT you have you think back to this year. It was a landmark year in film history and you guys covered it earlier in '21 and mentioned it at the top of the show. This movie came out 1 MONTH after Temple of Doom. A movie that was considered so intense and violent, Spielberg got the MPAA to create a WHOLE NEW RATING, PG-13!!! Before then there was a wide gap between pg and R. So something like that would be considered PG-13 today, but back then you could get away with much more in a PG movie before it hit that R rating. So this totally makes sense. The PG-13 rating had only been around for a whole month before or approx. I was just thinking of this and it "blew" my mind
Uh, in 2017, Gen drunk texted me that her Halloween costume had come in, I asked if it was sexy, and she said kinda. I came home to her in the Slimer outfit with fishnet stockings and heels. I took a photo that I later posted to Reddit and it got on the front page with a bajillion upvotes. - Greg
1:02:37 Wrong Nick. Sigourney Weaver was NOT huge at the time. I know, I was there. Alien later became a classic but at this point she wasn't known for anything else. She did a movie in '81 called Eyewitness that no one remembers. And yes she DID do a comedy before this. The year before Ghostbusters she was in a comedy with Chevy Chase and it BOMBED...HARD. It was called Deal of the Century, and it was horrible. So it was not an inspired choice at the time.
I liked the review But I found Andy’s comments to be kinda annoying/irrelevant Comparing the library ghost to something from sixth sense was a weird thing to say?!
OH HELL YEAH IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ALL MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!
I love the goofy grin Greg has when the cameras first come up. He's so happy to be doing these movies, and I'm happy he gets to do them.
Andy. Andy. Andy. KILLING it with the plot song yet again!
Time stamp? How’d I miss it?
@@AyeTySkaar it’s right at 32:51
So fucking good.
WERE GONNA LET TIM HOST!!! BABADADADADA
Andy nailed that cover of the theme
Dude. That Ghostbuster theme guitar cover, killer.
Shout out to the sound design on the proton packs. The first time that they turn them on in the elevator is one of my favorite moments in the whole film.
The proton packs are one of the most awesome props in film history and their sound design is amazing.
HOW BIG GREG IS SMILING AT THE START lol immediately filled me with joy before anything could even be said 🤣
32:50 Yo! Andy killed that! 🔥
Tim, PLEASE commit to a Gremlins In Review. I think it's one of the horror series you can get Andy on board with, as it's just so great and FUN.
Andy's plot song took this episode to a whole other level
"We have the tools, and we have the talent!"
That guitar playing was delightful, 10/10

has anyone ever told Nick he looks like PaRappa with that beanie?
I don’t know what brings a bigger smile to Greg’s face, reviewing and getting to talk in depth about ghostbusters? Or being a father to probably the luckiest and coolest kid in video games.

The movie is even better after you see the new documentary on Netflix and realize how quick it was made
GHOSTBUSTERS IN REVIEW IS HERE!!!! I LOVE MY LIFE
We don't deserve andy man hes super talented lol
I have waited for this for so long! Can't wait for Afterlife too.
Best plot intro ever from Andy!!
I’m so glad the true king of Halloween is here for this. It’s only right, all hail our king and his young prince.
I only watched Ghostbusters once as a kid before I even knew English and I only remember a few scenes, namely the ending with the giant marshmallow man. I'm currently at Columbia University so I had a blast watching those scenes.
"19%!? You didn't even bargin with the guy"
The origin of the 'Scarpino'
Walk in, get horribly ripped off, walk out. Successful 😎
I placed an imaginary bet that Greg would be smiling as soon as this started haha
Finally a reason to bring it up, but Greg talking about the mini-ecto thing falling through in the Gregway from a few months ago is legit the most depressing thing

That's Andy's best ever intro! 👌🏾
57:50 Kevin looks so genuinely happy, this was such a sweet moment.
Andy with the best PLOT SONG EVER!!!!
YESSSSSSS I'm so pumped! (oh no, I can already tell that Tim is going to break my heart when he reviews GB2)
I experienced this in theaters, last movie my mom saw before I was born!
Ray Stantz - "Listen, do you smell something?" :-)
Best plot song of all time
It’s been 686 days since the trailer reaction to Ghostbusters Afterlife and we’re finally here with the Ghostbusters In Review series 👻
I'm so glad we're here now. I wish I could be a part of this!
I don't get that this isn't a comedy movie. This movie is definitively a comedy, and it is one of the best comedies ever made - especially considering the time it was made.
I love the end and how you had to cut the video before Greg got back!
That intro is HOT!!!
Did I rewind to watch the intro again the second Sexy Slimer was mentioned? Yes.
Did I also go frame by frame? Also yes.
1:47:00 that “one woman” is played by Casey Kasem’s wife.
I watched this movie for the first time last month around Halloween, at the age of 27. I... didn't care for this. It was okay. I tried to watch it once in 2014 & I quit it after like 2 minutes. But it is nice to hear Greg speak so passionately about his love for this movie.

Yes I went back just to see Andy's moment of panic with the earbuds 😅
I am shocked Greg didn’t cry at the intro song Andy did
Oh god finally!!
"I looked at the trap, Ray!"
Ray is my favorite Ghostbuster. I love them all, but I see a lot of myself in him, and I gravitate toward that.
You almost got me Andy
You guys didn’t point out that the cop who takes them to there mayor is the cop Al Powell from Die Hard. “Welcome to the party pal” 🤪🤪🤪
One of my all time faves and yet more proof that the 80's was the BEST decade for movies........fight me :D
Doubt he'll see but Greg would appreciate this.. growing up Egon my favorite! And my favorite toy set that I played with for years til we moved and my folks said it's time to get rid of some toys. I thought Greg was gone. Glad to see him.
These have been prerecorded I believe
I feel like they're giving Ghostbusters so much credit for things it doesn't need too. Like background acting and saying that movies don't do that anymore. That's just untrue. Ghost Busters 1984 👻 is the greatest comedy of all time
I heard Ghostbusters was getting the 4K treatment and thought of Greg!
Glad? To see Greg again for real hope he’s doing okay with taking care of the baby snakes he got after avenging his eyes 👀
They recorded this a while ago so Greg could be a part of it before his kid was born
@@Sam-jv6fb yeah I know that’s what the snake 🐍 joke was for anyway Ben looks great man Greg’s going to be one crazy parent

You can definitely buy staypuft marshmallows in the UK all year round from certain shops
King of Halloween
Got to say, I was so scared that you guys were going to do this without Greg. Thankfully, there was foresight to prerecord this, though not sure how you’re going to do Afterlife. Unless Greg got to see it early.
They'll likely rent out a theatre and have Greg take a few hours off from baby duty so he can watch it with the gang.
This made me pick up the remastered game (had it on PS3 but never got around to it) ^^'
Why did slimer have on khaki pants? 😆 WTF was that!??! 😃
Are they not going to review Casper as well, because thats in the Ghost Buster universe too!
Saw Ghostbusters at the Drive-In.
Total protonic reversal. I always thought, the colors of the universe will go backwards?
2:24:02
Between this and Galaxy Quest - Sigourney Weaver is so fine.
So long since I've enjoyed an in review. I miss papa greg
I was born 4 days after Ghostbusters released.
Only complaint was final battle. Too short and stay puff didn't cause havoc.like destroying buildings
1:31:36 Now don't get me wrong it's a weird scene that you know, like Greg says the fellas thought it was terribly funny and wanted that bj scene. BUT you have you think back to this year. :P
Give me Rocky In Review or give me.... Die Hard
Eww why do they let Tim add the 2016 one? Why?
Let's goooooooooooooo!
Could someone inform me, what is the sexy slimer from?
Uh, in 2017, Gen drunk texted me that her Halloween costume had come in, I asked if it was sexy, and she said kinda. I came home to her in the Slimer outfit with fishnet stockings and heels. I took a photo that I later posted to Reddit and it got on the front page with a bajillion upvotes. - Greg

Wait so we're not getting real ghostbusters in review!? Shame it's cannon and there story needs to be told!
should I watch the cartoon???
The scene where Moranis improvised his dialogue: ua-cam.com/video/TsKQvkZ7SQo/v-deo.html

Original is still the best
I'll be honest. This movie is a good time but overall is pretty okay. I imagine it hit a lot harder in the 80s.
WHAT A FUCKING INTRO
I liked the review
But I found Andy’s comments to be kinda annoying/irrelevant
Comparing the library ghost to something from sixth sense was a weird thing to say?!
