    Hi Tim, I just love that route 12 and you're right that is one of the most beautiful campgrounds in that area and one of my favorite places to take a hike to the waterfall. It's a long hike but it's easy it's flat You don't need any equipment bring your bathing suit, there are even fish in that brook. As you continue East there is a road that goes towards I think they call it the devil's backbone and it leads you back to route 12 is a dirt road but it's well maintained and it is stunning. I hope you get a chance to take that ride also at some point in the future. There's a lot of history regarding the reason the devil's backbone road was created and there is a information board at a bridge you will cross on that route that is interesting to read about. Ride safe my friend

    Beautiful rides! Did my first cross country 7,000 mile motocamping trip last week, Florida to glacier and back. Huge thanks for the inspiration from your book and videos! Zumo XT2 showed every campsite nearby as I rolled and it made it easy to choose primo locations. Your book took away a lot of my packing stress thanks to the included lists. I had a lot of stuff I didn’t need or use as expected except for the cold weather base layers, damn it was cold up there! Can’t wait to tour Utah and Nevada next year…

And your backyard does have quite views for the camera.

    one of the things i also find difficult when winging it cross country is the uncertainty of finding viable shelter. in a pinch i call my daughter and god bless her, she finds something for me, albeit in the pricy range. beats not having shelter. it's a toss up which is worse, not knowing where u'll be able to stay or having to push on when tired or stop when ur not because the stop is scheduled. also the absolute worst is finding out they overbooked and ur on the $hitty end of the stick. if i book a hotel i insist on giving them my card and paying for the room so that if i end up there at 1am i have a room waiting for me. traveling in the car is so much easier than on a bike but the fun ratio just isnt there lol.

    • @FTAAdventures
      @FTAAdventures  Рік тому +1

      That can be tricky. I usually prefer to not have to push when tired but sometimes it can’t be avoided. That’s smart to pay ahead so they keep your room. I’ve been turned away before and it sucks, especially late at night.
