For all who are struggling and feeling overwhelmed, I pray that you feel a deep sense of comfort and understanding. May peace envelop your life like a warm blanket, and may your anxieties and fears be lifted, replaced by strength and faith. Amen.
I recommended this audiobook to someone here online despairing about life and religion. I really hope n pray that it is helping him to see the grand picture of True Religion with its minuscule detail. This is a very important book by C S LEWIS.
Pray for me as I struggle to love myself. Only through God can I even begin to not hate myselfcor feeling like a failure for wasting a decade of my life.
My daily routine listening to and learning from the word of Our Lord saviour and salvation Jesus Christ the only begotten son of God who sent him to us with the gospel to transform and uplift our life’s 🌍💦🍃💦🌱💦🌳📜🕊️ growing in grace
There is indeed duplication in the narration of these two chapters, but Lewis's insights here are so profound that they're well worth listening to again and again.
Look at this Matthew 6:19 Matthew 19:6 You understand the one is not alone 0 is 1 so understand He's before ad the right ad left Also behind to pick You up when You stumble...😇✨👑💞👑✨😇
Chapter 1. Begetting and making Experience God in nature like a beach at sea vs looking at a map with that sea on it. Sure the sea is real while you’re there, but the map is necessary for getting anywhere like to America. Theology is like the map versus meeting God in the desert which is real and exciting but lacking, it leads nowhere. It’s all thrills and no work. You won’t find eternal life without learning about God and doing the work. Watch out for bad, old false ideas of a God. So go to the source first, the words of Christ in the Bible. My Notes for first few minutes...
I was lucky enough to see all different, a person unable to do the works, to read the gospel, to serve...a total lost case BUT God came gently, knock in his door, the person rejected, he was unable to let Jesus entered, Jesus entered slowed and untied the hands of that person. Right there I understood grace in another level, Jesus will meet you where you are, no matter how much you reject him, church, Jesus...Jesus will knock, if you can't open He will come in..He will do whatever necessary to restore a soul. I saw in a period of 2 years, in the end, my friend died with cancer, but he was a new man by grace! God's love has no boundaries. I experience it!
@@fishhuntadventure Maybe you should rethink putting limitations on God and His ability to show Himself to His children wherever that child may be and in whatever condition.
I just wish he spoke a little slower. I did put it back to 75% but it was a bit too slow. I am listening to it the second time & still missing too much because of his fast talking.
What is he talking about "natural self"? Does he mean the body? If so the body is going to die anyway, so why is 'god' *apparently* going to so much effort to 'kill the natural self'? It's going to happen sooner or later without *"gods effort"* so to speak... I'm so confused now. :s
We live inside a human body with needs and wants, which Lewis call the "natural self". At birth our "natural self" is doomed to damnation as we are born into sin, Romans 3:23. Meaning from birth our "natural self" want to sin, and this sin separates us from God. For this reason we humans are in need of saving, and after we accepted Christ's gift of saving us from the damnation of sin, our nature is changed . . . we are born again, John3:3. Thus we have a new, young and immature nature just after Christ saved us, after we have been born again. From then God's spirit live inside of us. As a human we have the habits of "natural self" which we have been doing our living years up to becoming born again which we no longer want to do, since our born again nature want to please God's spirit, Romans 7:15. Then with the help of God's spirit we kill the "natural self" every day by not choosing the needs and wants of the sinful human, but choosing what God's spirit want, Romans 8:3-14.
Man is born with original sin and, therefore, is inclined toward evil thoughts and evil behavior. Look around at the world. That’s the ‘natural-self.’ Jesus wants it replaced with the virtues he taught including His Sermon on the Mount. It also includes the 10 Commandments. We also learn the ways of God, of Christ, throughout the New Testament. Read the parable of The Good Samaritan and The Prodigal Son. Read Christ’s words at the final judgment where He separates the goats and the sheep and exercises His Mercy and His Justice.
I think it's more about dying to self! Not my will [think want feel!] But your Will be done in my earth man as it is in a perfect self! - like Christ! What we are to image! Him showing the Father in his flesh man! Full of sprit of God! Was with him always! Till our sins laid on him [sin seperates us from God]! Then without God Christ died! But death could not hold him! He was made perfect! Our perfect image of God! We die to self! & he gives us his! & builds us up as a spiritual house for the spirit of God to dwell in! As Christ the head mind we are to have! The Word of Go is the Seed he planted in the flesh! & it. Transforms us we we grab it & eat it! & become like it! The Word in the flesh!
For all who are struggling and feeling overwhelmed, I pray that you feel a deep sense of comfort and understanding. May peace envelop your life like a warm blanket, and may your anxieties and fears be lifted, replaced by strength and faith. Amen.
This is GOLD.
Thank you 🙏🏻

“Of course anyone can be simple if he has no facts to bother about.” End of Chapter 2- brilliant. It is not simple, but it’s stupendous!
I love coming back to this great message. He taught me so much through his books.
I loved C.S. Lewis writing's. I enjoyed all of them. Including all of Narnia.

How do you know this? Are you saying that humans don’t have Love on their own?
How do you know God is not love? Why do humans love? Where does it come from?
