That humidifier is putting out so much moisture, wow! I just gave in and got a small humidifier to put near my plants but I’m so afraid of getting mold in my walls 😬
Everytime i see your Jade collection it amazes me how well they are growing. And is so nice sharing it with them with your children. They are a lucky plant and all my family have one too the size of a tree nearly. They can grow for years giving the right care and conditions. And can be move outside during the summer months for a boost of growth. I definitely like it when they grow more upright and compact and love when they get a bit sun-stressed. The other types that i am having more of a difficulty with especially the Crassula Ovata Hobbit the leaves tend to be more fragile and get more wrinkled. I am giving the same conditions as my other jade plants this one and the one that looks like a flower shape one too.
Awesome video..I just got into growing succulents and your videos have helped so much.. I wasn't sure about the fertilizer I have until I saw you had the same kind!! Keep us informed on how you like that stuff long term. Thanks a million. You'll get all my likes and a subscription from me!
That’s what I hate about peat moss in these bagged mixes. You have to do a lot of extra things help it drain faster. If you switch to coco coir and make your own soil mix and controlled amendments, you won’t have to worry about the compaction. Saves time.
What a beautiful jade plant. I've never been a fan of jade plants. I received one from a friend and I think she overwatered it quite a bit, so it wasn't an impressive specimen. I've kept it alive but without much enthusiasm. But after seeing yours, I'm inspired to take much better care of it now and will need to check out some of your other jade plant videos. How long did it take for yours to grow to that size? Mine is a single stem about 6 inches high.
I’m always in awe of your beautiful Jade plants! I have a couple of questions for you Jeff. I realized after watching one of your videos that my Jade did not have enough light. The leaves were curled downward. I moved it several months ago to a very bright spot. Will the leaves ever bend upright again? Also, I have one branch That is curled in a C shape. I am trying to decide if I should prune that off to maintain a better shape. Thank you so much Jeff for sharing your knowledge with us. I am going to go back and watch more of your Jade videos. PS I did find a Hawaiian Pothos yesterday😁
I've never seen this before....send me a picture if you have IG @everything_plants_ca I know there is a curly jade variety as well....it might be that one lol
It takes time, like all plants lol. It will seem like it is not growing, but most likely establishing roots for future growth then all of a sudden you will see lighter green small leaves popping up everywhere. Be sure to give it plenty of light too Good luck when trying again Ruth!

Your jades are such a vibrant green. Mine almost looks like it has a layer of dust on the leaves although the leaves are clean. Hope the fertiliser I have given it will help.
Your jades are so beautiful! I’m so happy that you always make dedicated jade plant videos! Is it okay to fertilize jades with regular fertilizer that I use on all my other houseplants or do they really need specific fertilizer? Thanks so much!
Regular houseplant fertilizer is okay as well. That's honestly what I used until this year. I thought I'd try the cactus and succulent fertilizer to see it I could get this thing to flower eventually 😅
@@EverythingPlants thanks!! I have never gotten mine to bloom either. They say that for promoting blooms it is a good thing to put the jades in a room where it is about 15 degrees celcius in the wintertime. I’ve never tried that though!

Hey Sandra. That last pot will stay as a bushy pot as it has multiple stems in it. It will grow large over time but remain in that form. The tree like single stems were taking from my 15 year old bushy Jade plant from approx 5 years ago as small cuttings.
I have jade plant for 5 years now never prune. When i repot to larger pot with new soil last summer the trunk or stems ( it has multiple thin trunk) all curved and bent. What should i do to have a bigger thick trunk? Should I separate them into multiple pots and start all over again with new plant? Im so jealous of your beautiful jade. Thanks for sharing
Hey! It may have started to bend because of the weight. You could try some small pruning and see how it responds. That should help strengthen the stems as well. You could then take those cuttings and start new plants too
Hey Melissa....absolutely you can and I do that to mine every few months. You only run into issues if you mist this plant frequently as it can develop fungal issues.
It all depends on the soil type, pot size and amount of light it gets.....so I can't say how often to water it. If the soil is dry and the leaves are a bit flexible (you can slightly bend them) then give it water. Thats how i tell if they need water.
i have 3 plants in one pot. the stems are starting to thicken and has a ton of new growth!! should i put each in its own pot? my goal is to have a beautiful tree like plant....ty
That is awesome! If you want the single tree form, then yes I would seperate them sooner than later. Sometimes it may be difficult to seperate in dry soil, so I would wait until the need water and use a hose or soak them in a container to loosen up the soil. Should be gentler on the roots too!
Hey there! Those are beautiful jade plants! There´s something I´d like to ask. I have two different jade plants. I give them fresh soil every 2-3 years but always leave them in the same size pot because the root ball doesn´t grow much bigger. This is so weird since the plants always shoot out in sping, look absolutely healthy, get more bushy and the stems get thicker. When I think of giving them some fresh soil I hope to find them rootbound, but no. Is it normal for those plants to have small root balls?? Could the pot be too large? But why do they grow all the time then? I really hope you have an answer for me, thank you for your time :-)
Hello! As you have found out, Jade plants typically have shallow roots and smaller root balls. This makes the perfect for bonsai plants. Can a pot be too large??? Absolutely and this is what kills not only Jades, but alot of other houseplants as well. Think of soil as a sponge and when you have more of it, there will ultimately be more water. Jades like to be well watered but don't tolerate sitting in wet soil. So, in my opinion, it is better to water more often then having a larger pot with a jade plant. I hope this helps!
1. Some of the Jade leaves are still plump and some are soft. When do we start to water the plant? Do we wait till all leaves are soft? 2. Why are some of my Jade leaves still soft to the touch even after watering?
Jeff I bought a Jade last year and it had red and a bit of variegation on the edges of the leaves, which has disappeared even though it’s in a sunny window? Is there such a thing?
