I was at a dinner once with six other people. One disappeared for about 15 minutes and we had to wait for her to return to order. Then she disappeared again. This time for nearly 30 minutes. We had to send someone to find her when her dinner arrived. Where was she? Outside the restaurant on a bench...READING. I immediately thought of this episode!
I always thought that this episode was very cleverly written with a great twist at the end. We're set up to think that the villain is Gabby, the mistress (who, to be fair, is self-centered, pompous and also racist), but we find out that she did not know that Ansel was married, and the real villain turns out to be the wife. Very well done
If you notice Suzanne gets even more upset than Julia when Gaby starts flirting with Anthony. At least according to IMDB, if Delta Burke hadn’t left the show, the series finale was suppose to have her and Anthony getting married.
I think we all know Suzanne would have married Anthony had Delta stayed on the show. Yes, she was crazy, but when it came time to standing up for her sister, friends, and Anthony, that gun was locked and loaded.
@@yevgeniyaleshchenko849 “Crazy” is totally appropriate. Just like Julia stated in another episode, “We don't hide them up in the attic. We bring 'em right down to the living room and show 'em off.” 👍
I love this scene and Mary Jo's "Vietnam" comparison is priceless!! I've seen it so many times and every time I literally laugh out loud. 😄😄 .... PEACE.
I loved this series when it was first on and I still enjoy watching it. Suzanne was always my favorite and still is. But now that I am older I see how completely obnoxious Mary Jo was. She was so judgmental, jealous, envious, emasculating and simply insufferable. At least when Julia was telling someone off, she was trying to defend her sister or herself. MaryJo was just mean. Ugh. No wonder Ted left her 😂
I have always enjoyed this show growing up, however, the fact that Anthony's character does not speak for himself in scenes such as this one was always offensive to me. A Black man saying nothing after being referred to as a "Black buck" by a white woman is just unrealistic and ridiculous! This scene promotes the stereotype of the docile Black man.
Especially a black male in the south. Where you are expected to stay in your place. Or else. Just the word "buck" is deeply offensive and racist and totally objectifying in a reductionist way. I think (hope) it would be done differently now ... ?
I've watched this show and all of its episodes many times and, considering Anthony's development and progression throughout the series, I think this particular episode was more about the Ladies defending his honor. I recall many episodes where Anthony spoke up for himself, either directly or indirectly, through sarcasm. Also, trying to talk sense to Gabby would be like arguing with a drunk. Anyway, it is a comedy, let's try to lighten up and not be too serious; plus, Mary Jo's Vietnam comparison was comedy gold. ... PEACE
Anthony had manners, and also he was not a partner yet. He was trying to be polite & keep things on a professional level. They are on a job after all. People can’t stand a gentleman? Anthony was also intelligent enough to know one should not waste time arguing with a moron like Gabby. There are other ways to behave besides attacking someone.
That episode about Norman Bates and the purse snatching irks me. What if the man was a twin or a person who happened to have looked like the man? She could have been wrong and it is SO IMPORTANT TO NOT ACCUSE FALSELY.
That little eye communication between Suzanne and Anthony when Julia crosses is everything.
I notice that too. Julia called the mistress: Rude, Lazy, Horny and Dumb.Julia has a way with words.
Like the way Suzanne is holding on to Anthony
"Sorry to keep you waiting, I was reading" 😂 LOL, this is one of the funniest episodes of the entire series

I love the twist at the end, when it is revealed that the whole twisted situation was choreographed by the wife, who ha$ her own secret lover.
I love how Dixie Carter keeps licking her lips to keep from laughing when Delta Burke is going off about Green Acres
I love when Charlene says... Julia in a soft voice because she knows any minute now Julia is about to light her A$$ up!!🤣🤣
Ironically Gaby turned out to be the broken hearted victim in what was actually a bizarre love trapezoid.

Neither was the villain. They had an open marriage but they didnt tell their lovers

I love how Julia spits out the word "condominium".
The next part where the mistress finds out the guy is married is also hilarious.
I think Suzanne would have shot Gabi if she had her gun messing with Anthony.
Very true ! She didn't like any of Anthony girlfriends.

LeAnn Hunley and Dixie Carter... Two T.V. *QUEENS.* ❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥👑👑👑
Did Suzanne get jealous 😂
YEP
I wanted to see the part where they tell her she is the other woman!
Who is snorting all through the clip? If you're going to do that, you might want to think about isolating the audio.
go away karen...

Love it when Julia unloads on people!
Well… I guess she didn’t know.
I think Suzanne was secretly in love with him.
And he her. It really wasn't a secret lol.
I thought Suzanne was racist
Mary Jo is so funny. Can't help but to laugh. 😁😁😁

I just Love Dixie!!! 😄
"Well I hope you don't find this racist but, I just have to ask, wherever did you find this incredibly big black beautiful buck?"
No . . . that's not racist. At all. Or sexist. It's just highly racist, highly sexist and highly inappropriate.
Love Ms. Dixie Carter!!🌸❤️
Julia ina semirant is always the best.
Love LeAnn Hunley!
She was so gorgeous in her prime. I loved her in Days of our Lives.
The sculpture on the mantel is of a male backside. Ironic!
Gabi has a thing for men rear end. And Anthony has a big rear end which caught Gabi attention.
designer of fashion (designer woman)
Love her miss her on days of our lives
Great scene
I guess she didn't know
It's season 4 episode 15
This is Episode 15
Is that Shira Huntzberger?
Yes
Two bit gold digger fresh off the bus from Hicksville
No. That is LeAnn Hunley. She played Ana Dimera on Soap Days and Dana Waring on Dynasty (1980’s)
Yes Gabby, that is terribly racist.
Big black buck. How silly. Gabby Hayes daughter.
Read her Julia !!!!
Is that sharon stone?😊
