    UA-cam has been suggesting many smaller channels lately. Glad they suggested yours. Many can relate to the blessing it can be when a door unexpectingly closes.

    hey Mithea! Thank you so much for your vulnerability in sharing your experience. I really admire your courage to explore your other areas of interest during your time off, and to share how you grew during that time with us. It sounds like getting fired was a blessing in disguise in many ways and I'm so happy to hear you're in a better place than you started. I can't wait to see what's next in store for you! Also hi from a fellow Toronto creator 😊

      Thanks for being here Audrey! A part of me was scared/nervous for being this candid but I felt like it was an important story to tell. I would've liked to see more relatable and honest discussions about being fired when I was going through it and I hope I can provide that for others. Also yaay to the youtube algos for connecting us Toronto creators 😊

    Thank you so much for sharing your story❤ I had a very similar experience last year. I was forced out of a job that I was stressed at solely because it afforded me the little luxuries I had. I was very slow to tell people what had happened because I was so ashamed and embarrassed. I looked at it as a reflection of my competence and skills. Fast forward to now, I’m in a much better environment and role that aligns with my interests. My leadership praises me often and I just feel like I get to contribute in ways that show off my expertise. I’m just wholly in a better place with myself.

    Thanks so much for sharing such a vulnerable experience. No doubt you're a vessel of hope to many who have had similar experiences. Would you mind sharing the strategies the career coach guided you on explaining your last job during interviews. Any information would be greatly appreciated. ❤

    1:15 I've had the same thoughts during the first couple days of articling when I just felt so inadequate. The imposter syndrome faded within a week after I learned the ropes.

      @TheJurisJourney  8 місяців тому +1

      Thank you for being here! I can confirm one year in the imposter syndrome is less, it ebbs and flows. But I like to tell myself that I'm feeling this way because I care about the work I'm doing and I want to do a good job (and usually that's encouraging enough to push through the feelings of inadequacy!)

    Girl this is me right now. 6 years in my profession and 1 year with the company that just let me go. The shame is REAL. Thank you so much, this has given me hope in a time that i've felt hopeless. They've given me a decent enough severance to be ok for a few months, but the lack of direction is scary. This gives me some reassurance!

    • @TheJurisJourney

      I felt that way too! Scared but also excited because the opportunities felt endless? You got this!

    Also, I hope to see you grow. I've dabbled once before in creating content so I know voice-over-image prob took you some time. I think the editing and storytelling was quite engaging. Only thing, as a viewer (esp. on phone) the zoom and shaky effects were distracting. Trust w.e you think works best, but maybe note that the video would be just as good without the effects. Save yourself the editing time :) All the best! 🇨🇦
