    That is a sweet 1750, one of the more under appreciated Oliver models in my opinion. Good thing you didn't need the duck. An Oliver Man only has so many ducks to give.

    • @rosstheoliverman
      @rosstheoliverman  2 роки тому +4

      I just couldn’t give a duck this time. Of all the ducking jobs, this just wasn’t one. Maybe the next one will be a mother ducker.

    We owned a 1750 it didn't run when we got it !! It was diesel so it had the knock off injection pump and the 2 piece ventilated block !! It had 750 hours on it ! We bought it for the rear end and the top cover and 3 point parts it had detent hydraulic levers the top cover went on our A series 1800

      That’s kind of unusual for a 1750 to blow. Most of the times it was the turbo charged ones.

      Hmm…I guess what I call clean original differs greatly from your version. We had one from 1970-1986 when all the equipment was sold off. It was a 1966 w/ the 2 speed powershift. Dad made a canopy for it to protect from elements. It was a reliable tractor, with a few quirks. Cold starts required ether and full throttle. But we put over 3000 hrs on it. It was used for an 8 row wide IH air planter, 8 row wide row crop cultivator, 7’ woods mower for shredding stalks and mowing waterways and ditches, rotary hoe, pulling wagons(1 or 2 Killbros 375’s), and even on occasion a 26’ disk. For a Waukesha engine, it lasted a good long time. Still it wasn’t the quality of the Perkins 354 that were in 1850’s which we also had…….it was used and abused.

    Back in about 1961 my Dad had an Oliver outboard on a wood river boat up here in Alaska. I think it was a 16 horse. Ran great!

    I noticed the battery lid is missing, I’m also missing mine on an 1850. Is there someone who makes replacements? Thanks for the quick repair video.

    • @rosstheoliverman
      @rosstheoliverman  Рік тому

      I’m not sure about that. It wouldn’t really be a hard piece to make as it’s mostly flat. I would guess that they still have the battery lid for this one hanging in the shed

    That's a sweet rig, might be a machine that I'll consider purchasing later down the line. I've always liked the 310s, except for when they create a second crankcase breather.

    Seeing this reminded me; I follow a FB page called Iowa Abandoned Images and a guy had posted some picture of an abandoned homestead. In one of the photos was what I believe is a 1755 with a cab sitting in the trees. It looked in good condition and from what I could see of the cab the glass was good. It was obviously abandoned but trees hadn’t grown up through or fallen on it yet. The guy that took the photo said he wasn’t sure what model it was he took the picture from the road and didn’t have permission to go onto the property. It sure was sad to see that tractor sitting there like that but I guess you can’t save them all. ☹️

      @@rosstheoliverman yes unfortunately that particular page has a rule not to divulge exact locations for obvious reasons. I did message the photographer and asked him to pass my information to the property owner if he ever found out who it was, ya never know I might get lucky.

    Great video thanks for sharing. Hop you don’t mind me asking I am putting new wiring harness on Oliver GM 1950. The alternator has a small square box on top of alternator which looks to be regulator. The question I have the single wire from alternator hooks to what? Starter switch? Also there is a larger red wire and a pink wire coming from starter I’m trying to figure where these go to. Amp gauge for the big red wire? If so the two posts on Amp gauge have a “B” and “L” not for sure which one? I would really appreciate your expertise on this. If I’m not suppose to ask you questions like this I apologize.
