Loaders just make everything more difficult when you’re working on something. But when you’re using a loader they make everything easier. So I guess it cancels each other out lol
Nothing like a watching a Ross video with a cold one in the evening thanks for video appreciate I've learned a lot I am a mechanic but I worked on cars but not tractors too much I got a John Deere Farmall m Ford 8N Oliver 88 and the new purchase of 1855 my baby I worked on farms when I was a kid and a guy had a 1855 Diesel with Oliver hey Baylor rotario baler I heard they was one of the best balers in their day making $350 $4 in the 80s good old times now I'm into tractors I need a pole barn have a little workshop where I can hide in the winter time and work on stuff cuz I mow grass in the summertime and Landscape Columbus Ohio love yours Chris and Ethan's videos love your Skits the best Hee Haw
I use a radiator drain"pet cock" instead of the pipe plug in the bn bottom. You can turn off gas and quicky drain carb bowl. Saves frustration on infrequently used tractors.
Hello, thank you so much for you Videos help me a lot working on the carburetor for my Oliver. I was wondering if you can make a video how to adjust the governor. It is all screwed up on my tractor and I find it very difficult to adjusted the way it should be. Thanks so much for all you good videos Jope
I used to get spanish girls until I became friends with you. Now all the Fraulein are wanting a piece of me. Maybe I need to make friends with someone that speaks Swedish.

That’s on my list of things to try. I’ve never got around to getting one. I might have to go to the old hobo freight and latch on to a good Chineesium one.
I've done 2 carbs in the last couple of weeks ware I took apart and clean carbs off my 770 and 1550 and both were dirty. The 770 didnt have any kind of filter on it not even the screen in the sediment bowl ! The 1550 ended up having the screen in the bowl plugged up and of course the bowl gasket broke apart trying to get it off. It got a new bowl gasket and filter screen and a new fuel filter in line after the bowl so I know its clean now. The 770 I have a new screen and gasket for it now and a new fuel filter to put on it now. Just love figuring out what other people have done trying to fix something like a carb, Like making a bowl gasket for the carb out of what looked like a file folder to save a buck ! LOL Good thing McHenry's is just down the road and I can get what ever I need for the Oliver's ! Bandit
I’ve actually been buying new bowl gaskets off of eBay. There’s a guy who makes them out of some kind of miracle rubbery stuff and it’s also slightly thicker than the originals which seems to help seal it up and not leak.
@@rosstheoliverman I think I got some kind of gasket material that was supposed to be carb gasket material that I was going to use but I really needed the little clip that holds the needle valve to the flout so I just got one from McHenry's and it was only a couple of bucks so I bought one ready made ! I sometimes hate making gaskets with a passion and it dont help I've lost my big hole bunches, 1/8" to 2" and I've lost most of the big ones and all I have left is the 1/8" to 1" so I was glad to buy this one ! I really have got to get to working on my old Dodge truck and figure out why if you drive it 5 miles of 50 miles it wont start back up up till it cools off , I think its because of the carb gaskets. To many people worked on this truck at work and and who know what was left off it. Like the old saying goes Too many cooks spoil the stew ! LOL Bandit
Well that didn't fix it, but we have found one problem and created a work around. She runs and that's just have 2 fuel shutoff now and have to shut it off before the tractor
I'm a little late to this but will throw it out there anyway. I have a number of 7/8" brass venturi's from tsx 464 M/S carbs. Would give you a couple if they would do you any good.
You can get frustrating at times. I’ve had several carburetors before that I just could not figure out what their issue was. Finally after rebuilding it a second time you could get it to work.
i like watching you work on carbs
I know your frustration with the loader. My Super 55 has the same issue😅

I’ve done that before two but I hardly ever drain the bowl. I guess I like taking carburetors apart 🤣

I see! Cool.
You need an ultrasonic cleaning tank to put the carb parts in, they are awesome and looks like a new carb when it is done.

Ross you always have something very funny to say in your video 🤣😂🤣 I like watching your videos always very informative.
Thanks Michael
Thanks Michael!
I have the same tractor and carburetor. My problem is the opposite. Fuel won't stop so getting rid of the clip first.
Yeah, most of the time you can just throw that clip over your shoulder and be better off

I definitely would love to have some extras if you want to part with them!
What oil are you using in the transmission and hydraulic system on your 550? I have a 59 model 550 and always get mixed responses on what oils to use?
Transmission is 80w-90. Hydraulic unit is just regular premium hydraulic fluid.
@@rosstheoliverman thank you!

Make adjustments only after warmed up

You sound the same as I did on my 3rd time doing the carb on my Cockshutt 40.🤨🤬
