Lucky!! I didn't run into dust until 2010 when my uncle pulled out the records...i was in love Totally. I would love to see them live. I have hard attack on cd amd an original of the lp want a copy of the first album
My girlfriends and me go insane on Dust pretty much every single night we go out, we'll sing it in the streets with our drunken voices as loud as possible. Ever so grateful for this incredible music! One of my life goals is to be able to play the entire Hard Attack album on bass.
I absolutely LOVE this band...bought their LPs in the early 70s and still listen to them. Met Kenny Aaronson when he was the bass player for Rick Derringer. He was blown away when I mentioned Dust! Great, great band...do yourself a favor and find their music on CDs...well worth whatever you have to pay!
dust are the band along with the mc5,stooges,black sabbath, king crimson, cream, deep purple, jimi hendrix, budgie, led zeppelin, death(detroit),ramones of course, motorhead, hawkwind and among others that are definitely personified totally representing what ya called now as rock n' roll.
I was a 17 year old rock drummer playing in local bands in my Midwest home towns area when Dust came out. the band I was in played a lot of the rock songs back then and DUST songs were some of the hardest to learn and play. We never did get them right.

I love Dust. Especially this opening number. It is 2/11/24 now & I just listened to Dust/Dust 2 days ago at work. My discovery of Dust back in the 80's by buying Hard Attack was a memorable experience.
Kenny Aaronson, Mark Bell (Marky Ramone) and Ritchie Wise were my friends. When Kenny Aaronson invited me to the recording studio, Kenny Kerner told me how famous KISS would become. Kenny Aaronson invited me to the KISS concert. We limoed in backstage to the Garden, they had a great show with fireworks! Then at the after party, with a delicious buffet, I spoke to Gene (Sabra! Jewish) and Paul (Jewish) like myself and Kenny, all Jewish.
I still have and I'm listening to their 2 LPs ... the masterpiece of the masterpiece. Incredible > *Hard Rock* < music , Marc Bell plays drums very quickly > *BRAVO*
When 'DUST' album came out in 71, it was phenomenal and got the attention of a lot of rock music lovers. DUST was fresh, new original material unlike any other recording artists at that time. A three piece band where each member was so skilled and talented that the massive intricate sound that produced easily equaled Cream, Led Zeppelin, the Who, Black Sabbath and even Jimmy Hendrix Experience. Yes, That's right, It is true.
Of all the so called "Obscure Bands" I've found out about in the last 20 years. Dust is my favorite and From A Dry Camel is one of the best songs ever written. EPIC!!!
Hardest > *Hard Rock* < band in the '70s. The recording from the *Concert* is great - every honor that has dug it up and put it . Many well-known groups of the time can recall them in a very violent live music ! I still have and I'm listening to their *2 LPs* the masterpiece of the masterpiece.

That makes sense, one can still hope! At least we get these killer reissues. Maybe that will bring Dust some much needed attention, they are one of Americas first Heavy Metal bands and deserve more credit.
I was a fan when first album cam out. They never get old. When Marky was in Atlanta he was in a record store Wax and Facts, there were both Dust albums in the rack he autographed both. I have them!!!
It is soo awesome to see a video like this,im 19 years old and dust is almost like the hendrix and juthro tull and cream were to them(even though i consider them all on the same level of infulentialness on me) and to see that i have a lot in common with them, not only from listing to the music but seeing video like this,i can just realate sooo much to guys like drust, and henrix, and all the great bands from the mid 60's through the 70's

about f'ing time this gets the attention it deserves. This has been an old favorite since high school days. going to try and find this tomorrow on vinyl!
Would love the live footage to be released. In the studio there are two guitar parts, Richie playing both rhythm and lead, I would be interested to see how they replicated their sound live.
I just listened to Dust for the first time really amazing love marky ramone he is such a great drummer that's what made me want to listen to dust so powerful
By the way, check out a band called Red Fang, they have been known to throw Dust's "Suicide" into their setlist with great results. They also have a fairly big fan base. Thanks for writing, managing, and producing for one of the best bands ever Kenny!
Such a great band, teenagers at the time at least the two of em when the first one came out, love me some Dust, same with Sir Lord Baltimore aka original American metal
The fiercest Hard Rock group '70s. The recording of the concert was awesome - congratulations when it was dug up and placed. Greatest hard rock lps of the 70s ,i can't imagine the original covers getting any better, if your the real Kenny K, hats off you you for those great records , i got them back when they first came out, but my original hard attack with the cover that opened up got swiped at a party so i got a new one that was just a single cover , can't blame them for swiping it it was so freakin good. ... ah to be back in those great fun filled days ,i was only 14 and was also lucky enough to have seen them play
I love these albums more than life itself. It's great that these albums are FINALLY getting the representation they deserve. This is a bit of a personal Holy Grail for me. HIGHLY influential! Well done, fellas!
First time I have ever seen live footage of Dust and now I feel as if I NEED to see more badly. My old man got me into them at 13 in 1983 when he realized I was becoming a full-blown metalhead. He put on Learning To Die and I loved it. Looking at the cover, year of release, seeing Kenny and Mark as members was an easy sell on me

I was at a party with MICK JAGGER with my celebrity publicist, David Granoff. I went to see the Stones at the Garden with Ike & Tina. I drove home from Rick Derringer's concert with a member of Foreigner. In CA, carl taught me to drum. My good friend Carmine (of Rod Stewart fame) and Vinnie Appice (Rick Derringer, Black Sabbath & Axis). I did Vinnie's, Danny Johnson's and Jay's styling, make up and hair for their album when they formed Axis.
Just talked to kenny Aronson sat. night at john eddie show in vienna,va. Said c'mon kenny and let's do this dust thing one more time. Push this new release! DUST RULES!
It's good to discover an album that holds up well, or for those who were at the shows that vaguely remember, rediscover. I was hoping they would have done some shows when the re-release happened.
I discovered this band as a teen in the early 2000s and it changed my life. My buddy had a 120 minute mixtape with this record on one side and Blues Creation on the other. So in my head, you gotta put on Blues Creation after listening to Dust.
I went to see Joan Jett and the Blackhearts at Mississippi nights in St. Louis, (1995 or 96ish). My friend Bob Leach said that one of the guys in the band had formerly played with Dust. The guys in the band came to our table and talked to Bob (minus Joan) after the show. I was too shy to say anything. I don't remember their names.
Went to high school(Erasmus)with you guys and was in your rival band. You beat us in the battle of the bands contest in the Prospect Park Amphitheater, but we went on to get our contract with Columbia weeks before you!
Fucking great band. Have both their albums on CD (the digipak reissues from around 2009 from that English label). Every member was a fucking master of their instruments. Biggest revelation was Marky though. Didn't know he could play THAT great. Would love some live clips if you had any
5 thumbs down? You have to have a great deal of douchebag in you to click a thumbs down on a Dust documentary trailer. Is it because it's so short. And it doesn't seem to be available anywhere as a full documentary ? Okay then that's understandable ,because it is kinda bogus that its not a full documentary about the band and is incomplete as it stands ,. But still it does not deserve a thumbs down. These guys were insanely underrated and totally in the wrong place at the wrong time to have not exploded and been at the top of the US hard rock music scene for a couple of year .Obviously a result of very bad record company management and management promotion.
+Jonathan Kosyjana I paid $4 each for these about 10 years ago, it's amazing how much the price has gone up on "3rd tier" bands like this, Sir Lord Baltimore, Cactus, Bang!, etc have gone up since then.
Marky was an awesome drummer, very fast, precise and all over that drum kit producing a massive full sound. The bass play Kenny Aaronson is one of the finest bass guitarist rock has ever heard. Listen to 'Loose Goose' on the first Dust album. The lead guitar player, Richie Wise and lead vocalist and song writer was practically a one man band himself. Blazing, aggressive, smoking guitar riffs and a composer of melodic unforgettable songs.
I LOVE Red Fang. Actually the reason I found out about Dust is because I heard their cover of Suicide on their Tour E.P. 2. After which I had to look up the rest of Dust's stuff and proceeded to ear out almost all of Hard Attack on guitar and a chunk of the bass solo on Suicide.
They were fu*king amazing. I started collecting records 15yrs ago and while at a record show I was immediately drawn to the cover art and seeing the name in those letters I was like fuck ya. Turned it over and saw the length of the songs the song titles how many tracks there were the label and the kicker being a three piece I knew it was going to be a score. I have been praising and telling people how friggin rad they were ever since. Wasn't even til years later I realized he was he drummer for the Ramones. What a down turn in playing. Good for him to cash in but what a contrast in every way from Dust to the Ramones. Keeny Aaronsons solo on suicide is to this day dope as fu*k and his song, the last track on the first album ? Is fu*king an amazing rock song made for the bass
Pretty cool to hear Marky have such range on those drums, kinda wish he kept that versatility for Ramones but different style different riffs call for different drums I guess.
he got a little more into fills and things near the end of the Ramones' career but it was still nothing like this. would've likely sounded weird with them, he missed out becoming a New York Doll because he played all their stuff basically like this
Wow, I never knew that part of history. I have to get those two Dust albums somehow. Thank you so much. As a Kiss fan, of course I recognized the name Richie Wise. Other than that, I didn't know a thing.
wow, i never knew that this rock group ever existed. i gotta find this album for sure cause this is the music that i grew up listening to from other similar bands like this one in my youth. hope there'll be videos available of this amazing band to sit back a watch the excitement for sure. shew i'm out of breath!
Spread the word----DUST has risen from the ashes. April both DUST records will be re-released for all to hear. Better sound. NEW CD cover . Booklet with liner notes and photos.
wow! i never knew that Marky Ramone played drums like this ever before & i neither heard of the group too. i gotta find this album for sure cause this is the music that i grew up listening to from other similar bands like this one in my youth. hope there will be dvd videos of this band to sit back a watch the excitement for sure. shheeww i'm out of breath!
I just saw Kenny Aaronson wearing my sweater. I gave it to him at my private party on East 7th Street! He asked if he could have it, and I said to Kenny: "Of course, here." I bought it at a Vintage store.
Please give US diehard fans a reunion gig, especially here on the east coast! We will be there to support you guys! I've talked amoungst friends and we'd ALL BE THERE, if you'd get together just one last time! It would truly be an AMAZING SHOW!!!
DUST they was etremly popular in Norway. Thei albums was wooooooooooaaW- awsome. The problem was to get enough of their Albums here. DUST!!! Albums was etremly attractive and was sold out !!! - If they had been better promoted, I am 100% shure that this band had grown big here in Norway, England and rest of the Europe. - Think about that. Awesome band and mucicans. Will forever love their music and still do nearly 50 years later,
DUST was so underrated, but all the rockers in the Midwest loved them andall 3 were skilled and talented. I have both albums. The drummer Marc Bell, aka Marky Ramone, was an outstanding drummer and outplayed anything he ever did in the Ramones. Too bad they were not commercially successful enough.
Dust was mind blowing brain fry stuff when it came out... As vital as MC5, Blue Cheer, Mountain, Stooges and early B.O.C. The harder tracks had dang near the scalded ape intensity of Sir Lord Baltimore. Both of their albums are from a specific time and culture that's long gone. It's so *^%%$#!! weird to see the vibe Richie had going in the old photos compared to how he comes off as an older music producer in this clip, (kind of hard to believe). Fortunately the records are still around so anyone who wants to can still get off on em'!
Vintage Dust live footage needs to be released!
Absolutely!
First band I ever saw live, opening for Alice Cooper in St. Louis, '71. DUST is the first rock album I ever bought, right after that concert.

Where did they play at? In the 80s the bands I saw were usually at the Checkerdome or Kiel Auditorium.
@@needyjames8769 If you got lucky it would be at the Opera house, but yeah, usually Kiel.
This video right here is the holy grail for 70's proto metal heads. Watching that footage and hearing those interviews was unreal!
Please release that live footage!!
Dust and Sir Lord Baltimore on the same bill.....now THAT would be one hell of a show!
Two heavy bands that most people have never heard.
With plenty of New York attitude!
Now there's a new york ( QUEENS !!!) show !!

LOVE YOU GUYS!
Dust should reunite, for God's sake.
OMFG you guys would rule! We're still waiting for that third album gents. ???
I think they would be more appreciated now! they were ahead of their times by just a wee bit!
That's interesting he said St. Louis, because that is where I am from, and I have both the albums on vinyl.
Other than that, I didn't know a thing.

this band was freakin great, hope they'd make music like that now
Electrocution i thought would make me a star !!!! Got those records when i was 14 . still got em..
I just saw Kenny Aaronson wearing my sweater. I gave it to him at my private party on East 7th Street! He asked if he could have it, and I said to Kenny: "Of course, here." I bought it at a Vintage store.
@ crazeehorse... YES! A REUNION GIG of DUST would be AWESOME!!!
Please give US diehard fans a reunion gig, especially here on the east coast! We will be there to support you guys! I've talked amoungst friends and we'd ALL BE THERE, if you'd get together just one last time! It would truly be an AMAZING SHOW!!!
Grande Band!!! E' sempre un piacere ascoltare della buona musica!
Amazing video, Uncle Marc!
Have a question about Dust concert footage... Is original video with sound or silent? Full set or just a couple of songs?
DUST they was etremly popular in Norway. Thei albums was wooooooooooaaW- awsome. The problem was to get enough of their Albums here. DUST!!! Albums was etremly attractive and was sold out !!! - If they had been better promoted, I am 100% shure that this band had grown big here in Norway, England and rest of the Europe. - Think about that.
Awesome band and mucicans. Will forever love their music and still do nearly 50 years later,
Brilliant! This made my night! Thanks
DUST was so underrated, but all the rockers in the Midwest loved them
andall 3 were skilled and talented. I have both albums. The drummer Marc Bell, aka Marky Ramone, was an outstanding drummer and outplayed anything he ever did in the Ramones. Too bad they were not commercially successful enough.
Fantásticos, Maravilhosos,Uma das melhores bandas de todas!!!
E até subestimada
Dust was mind blowing brain fry stuff when it came out... As vital as MC5, Blue Cheer, Mountain, Stooges and early B.O.C. The harder tracks had dang near the scalded ape intensity of Sir Lord Baltimore. Both of their albums are from a specific time and culture that's long gone. It's so *^%%$#!! weird to see the vibe Richie had going in the old photos compared to how he comes off as an older music producer in this clip, (kind of hard to believe). Fortunately the records are still around so anyone who wants to can still get off on em'!
