1. Shohei Ohtani to Dodgers, solidified them as the #1 offense and contender for years to come 2. Juan Soto To Yanks, could be the AL MVP this year. Cashman should make him a Yankee for life 3. Shota Imanaga to Cubs, maybe the best value signing of the offseason right now 4. Chris Sale to Braves, looks genius with Strider down. Credit to ATL for beliving he could be a frontline starter again 5. Sonny Gray to Cardinals, stabilized their rotation and gives them their best hope to still contend this year
Jordan Hicks might be my favorite so far. He’s been great. 4 years 44 mil, 2.38 ERA, 1.11 whip, only 53 innings from 10 starts but thats still above the average. He’s got some fire too, he’s great in that roto.
I’m pretty happy with the team. That’s also recency bias though. The last two games were great, but our hitting still need work and so do the strikeouts. Overall though i think we will end up in the playoffs
-"Some say it's a strike, the best strike. Could be a ball, could be, but it isn't, it's a strike. Amazing how quick i am to be able to recognize that, not many people can do that like i can, you know..." -Other guy "hey man, calm down, everything's gonna be alright. *distracted* Hey, is that an ice cream truck over there?"
As crazy as it sounds Austin hedges was the best pickup the guardians could have made this off-season. We were so good with him in 2022. He leaves in 23 we suck, he wins a ring, and now he’s back and we’re electric. Hedges has the mentality, the leadership, the energy, and even the defense to make him too important to this ballclub. Hedges is without a doubt the best pickup we could have made this season.
I watched shohei in Anaheim vs the redsox and mookie knocked him out in the first inning too. Mookie then went on to hit two more hrs against the angels. Was an awesome game for Red Sox fans!
I think biden would be a better ump. Yes, he’s sleepy and would miss a bunch of calls. Trump on the other hand has the massive ego fit for a big league ump but that means he would eject quite literally everyone that says anything negative about any call he makes
Ortiz was always a great player. I'm an O's fan, so I was obviously more familiar with his game than other fans, but I was shocked when nobody knew who he was after the Burnes trade. The dude was the best defensive infielder in the minors with great bat to ball skills. A top 50 prospect who just hit .321 in AAA. He was just blocked by better players in the O's organization. It was a win all the way around. The O's get their ace, the Brewers get some young, team controlled players and Ortiz actually gets to play in the bigs and show everybody what he can do.
I know it was a big media storm that the Brewers failed on trading Ace Pitcher Corbin Burns for Joey Ortiz and others but for both teams it seems to have worked out. Ortiz looks like the best 3rd basemen in the Central while Burns still looks like a Cy Young pitcher. I do not believe Ortiz is up to the value of the Cy Young pitcher and the trade is still lacking on value for a guy like Burns to many but the Brewers have not lost a game because they did not have Burns. They have won games they would not have because of Joey and his bat. Win win trades are great. The Brewers probably have their next star Shortstop on the roster today and its not Adames sadly . Willy should be extended in a normal world but baseball is no normal world and signing your best players when they want to stay on the roster and are willing to work with the team on a friendly deal does not automatically make a team sign that man. Baseball 2024 is a sad business with so many stupid realities that signing your franchise players who want to stay put is no longer normal business. So until this mentality changes with managers and big brass teams like the Brewers will continue to develop players for other franchises and continue to not win a thing that is real . The Brewers have 2 obvious moves to make in season in 2024 and 2 more that should get done on top of those. #1 first and foremost extending William Contreras is job #1 . If he wants 100 million for 6 years extended what the hell are we waiting for? I do not care that they have him wrapped up through 2027 on the cheap. When you have an MVP slugger who is willing to stay put you lock him up and do not question things. The fact the Brewers have not already begun contract talks with William is why they never win. They also have a guy in Willy Adames who while is not as critical to the Brewers roster as William yet is as important to the team mentality as any player in baseball and the Brewers above all other franchises in baseball are required to embrace a total team mentality where each player is the superstar on any given outing . Adames wants to stay in Milwaukee and has openly stated this for years . He wants to take a team friendly deal earning less to stay in town than he would get on the market and that is a mentality that must be bread here to hope to play with the Bigs . The Bucks signed Giannis Antetokounmpo as much for his ability to be the best in the game as his mentality of being happy where he plays more than seeking money at a higher level for other franchises. His talent was undeniable but his mentality was cause to make sure they kept him here and so his mentality would take hold on a team who cannot spend money like big teams . This is true in baseball too yet it has been lost and forgotten as a possible way to create teams in 2024 because big baseball has made it seem like an impossibility . This is nonsense. The only way a team like the Brewers can make it the entire way and be a team to beat the big money clubs is by breeding a Small market mentality with leaders who take less to stay because they love this team and love this sport and want a team like the Crew to win big things . Moneyball is great . It has allowed minor franchises to win when they could not compete but this way has lead to teams forgetting the most important part of a team build . When the team is built you stop and play ball and WIN. Teams are so caught up in the idea they have to trade off talent before they lose the ability to control that players contract . What has happened as a result of this teams like the Brewers are just a AAA club developing talent for other franchises and that was never the intent of this system. Teams have forgotten the most important part of Draft/acquire and develop and that is this. You develop players through a farm league to build a team you play ball with . When today we see teams constantly develop players who end up on other teams by the time they develop for fear that we cannot afford them when in truth many of these players would stick around on team friendly contracts and who would help other players make the same choices to continue winning. The Brewers are smart to develop players and bring them up cheap . It is the only way to hang with rich franchises but also there has to be a refocus on keeping some of your teams best players who are willing to stay put and take less money even if it is expensive because you cannot win anything real with a constantly changing leaders . Leaders are the most RARE baseball players in an MLB dominated by the individual . Leaders are not always the biggest statistical players on a franchise roster. William Contreras is rare in this aspect but Willy Adames is this in spades. Willy will never lead the MLB in hitting % or even any offensive stat at all. Willy will never win Golden Glove despite him being a top SS and he will probably never win an MVP like William will . However keeping Adames and Contreras together seems like the smartest move a team like the Brewers could ever ink. They are besties who work together everyday . They have included Jackson Chourio to their pre game preparations and are helping him grow into the All Star he will become more than any coach there. Keeping your team leaders is lost on the MLB outside of the big money clubs who understand this reality better than any club out there and they spend to keep players on rosters forever because they know continuity is key to winning more than every other factor. The Brewers have an opportunity to really put two names on the banner of AmFam field by locking these two guys up for their entire prime. The dividends that would pay off after this with studs like Yelich, Adames and Contreras for the next 6 to 10 years would hold down the building blocks to actually win something real in Milwaukee. They can afford it . For now these two are willing to take team friendly deals that will lock them up for a decade in a Crew uniform . As good as the Brewers are at developing talent and as much as they think they have the next short stop in place when Willy is gone they cannot replace a unicorn like Willy as easy as they believe. Willy is a guy who oozes team mentality . His best friend in Baseball is also on the Crew and is the current MLB MVP in most aspects . SIGN THESE MEN NOW .
ya'll totally took that "he's irrelevant" comment WAY out of context. smith called him irrelevant, as a target of an intenional HBP in the middle of gavin stones perfect game bid. like why would they throw at him intentionally? there is no relevance there
Jordan Hicks, who people shat on "hOLy oVeRpaY fOR a ClOsER", currently is 4-1 with a 2.38 era 40ks 1.11 whip... funny how hes not on here lol. But if he signed with the dodgers and did this, bro wouldn't be able to move with all the glazing.

Trevor, back me up here. I shaved a goatee into my beard a couple weeks ago like you've got goin on today, and my wife gave me so much crap for it. Whta's up with that? Totally normal and you pull it off so c'mon! What's wrong with a well manicured beard?
Trump or Biden, Pros & Cons: Biden Pros: Since I’m a Phillies fan & he’s a Phillies fan & Philly is in a swing state, he will have a favorable bias for the Phillies. Trump Pros: He’s a Yankees fan but Trump went to Penn in Philly, as did 3 of his kids. Philly is in a swing state & will be bias in our favor. Trump also played baseball growing up & should be fairly decent, but I could see him getting bored too. The manager arguments would be extremely entertaining! Biden Cons: He’s just not mentally there & could easily fall. I also wouldn’t be surprised if he just wondered off the field in the middle of an at bat. Trump Cons: He’d try to rush the game. Brag to the batter at the plate about how much better his golf swing is. Tell the home team that if they played better than maybe they’d get as big of a crowd as he does. Conclusion: Trump just for the sheer entertainment aspect. I couldn’t enjoy myself watching Biden because I’d be too uncomfortable. Neither for president though 😂
I'm a Giants fan but live in Japan for 12 years, everyone is wearing LA caps (at least way more than ever) SD and Cubs as well (2 Japaneses in both teams) so I'm guessing they also buy t shirts, TV subcription to watch the games etc (before Ohtani games were free now we need to pay on Abema channel for example) so 700MIL contract is nothing next to all the new fan base Ohtani is bringing to LA.
I prefer Biden for President but I would absolutely pick Trump to be ump. Biden would be competent, but would miss some calls and the game would drag a lot. A Trump umped game would a fast paced, incompetent shitshow. There is a high chance that so many players would get run for arguing Dons horrendous balls and strikes calls, that the game would have to be called. It would be entertaining as fuck though.
Shota Imanaga 4 years 53 million is by far the best signing/steal of the season and it’s not close

Guys, Padres signed Profar for 1 mil and he’s literally their MVP. Ultimate value, ultimate production. Profar is your best signing of the off season
As a Mariners fan, I think I can speak on behalf of every single Mariners fan out there.
We are all very happy with our team right now.
Yes I have never said anything bad about my team they're the best in baseball (don't look at my post history)
I have always loved Jerry Dipoto 😃
Seattle is a revered franchise that rewards its fans with a well equipped team that produces offense
I’m pretty happy with the team. That’s also recency bias though. The last two games were great, but our hitting still need work and so do the strikeouts. Overall though i think we will end up in the playoffs
just wait until June-July, they'll fall off like they always do
The Red Sox bringing in Andrew Bailey, who has revolutionized the pitching, is an incredibly underrated move.

Doxxing BBD real name 😂
It’s been doxxed for a while now haha

It’s actually wild lol
Chris Sale absolutely killing it WITH NO RUN SUPPORT!!
Red Sox got absolutely finessed in that deal lmao
@@mattlox3981 sad to see Grissom leave Atlanta and hope he has a great career, but so far big W for the Braves in that deal.
BBD’s giggle makes me so happy.
TREV looking straight like PC Principal with those glasses on lmao
Came here for this! Agree lol
This show puts me in such a good mood day in and day out. Keep up the great work gents
Kirby Yates. 0.98 ERA and 0.82 WHIP for only 4.5mil
they never talk about us unless its about our struggles as of late BUT Kirby has been an amazing signing
Trev looks like PC principle from south park with those glasses on 😂
It was a sports figure. Pretty sure it's the bowler who yells "who do you think you are? I am!"
Thats hilarious lmao
As a Giants fan, Lamote wade JR has a .485 OBP rn. put people on.
Im a Dodgers fan in OC and I used to go see Trout and Ohtani, field level, for $5 bucks on some Wednesday getaway day games.
I watched shohei in Anaheim vs the redsox and mookie knocked him out in the first inning too. Mookie then went on to hit two more hrs against the angels. Was an awesome game for Red Sox fans!
After Trevor's speech about seeing Shohei, I'm even more glad that he happened to be pitching for the game when I found myself in Anaheim for work.
Seth Lugo was the best deal. 15 million a year for a Cy Young candidate
It's too early to say, but Imanaga for four years 53 mil is looking insane right now
I’ll tell ya now he’s not winning much less finishing top 5
Jordan Hicks clears unfortunately.
idk what the hell the Mets were thinking letting that guy go 😔
Would love to hear Jake’s story about visiting Shreveport, LA one day
I love luke raley, dude is a dog and plays hard on every play.
I think biden would be a better ump. Yes, he’s sleepy and would miss a bunch of calls.
Trump on the other hand has the massive ego fit for a big league ump but that means he would eject quite literally everyone that says anything negative about any call he makes
the old pitchers on the Cardinals have been pretty good! love it
Will Smith’s “irrelevant player” jab at Profar is hilarious currently.
Forgot his name but Trev looks exactly like "who do you think you are I AM!" bowler dude with the glasses
good hair day from jake
Throw some pooka shells and a visor on Jake and he would really be like the classic 2000’s movie hot boy/bully
Three of my favorite ball yuckers
Has to be Chris Sale Braves are getting paid to have him this year and he is SHOVING like it’s 2017 lol
The Adam Frazier joke will never get old.
Trev is totally Pete Weber, the "who do you think you are, I am" bowling guy, with the glasses
i love when trades benefit both teams like the Brewers Orioles
P.C principle Trev 28:48
Jordan Hicks y’all sleeping
I don’t know how jake looks younger than me but he’s about 15 years older than me
Brewers Hoskins and Ortiz were great pickups.

Soto and Arraez are imo the best trades by a lot
I did not know Flaherty's numbers were that good.
And that best transaction would be Sandy Leon to the Rangers. Saved you the time.
this is such a good ep bet. the substantive political discourse and Jake's WNBA knowledge
Saw shohei and the angels lose to the rockies after the angels scored 20+ runs against the rockies day before 😅
"Your grandkids will hate you if you don't go see Shohei play live." Trevor Plouffe.
Baseball is one sport where fans would boo a President while he throws out a first pitch then chat casually with him during the game
Trev looks like Matt Olson with the glasses on
Jake’s arms filling that tee like a dog in a roll. Yum.
I want to hear the breakdown of how every president would do umping and why Taft would be the best

The real question is if either of them would be worse than Angel Hernandez?
