Adam Savage’s Tested I already know him but the thing is he made you a couple days ago and it’s amazing that’s how I came to your channel
Wow, so great to see you guys building my model! And glad to see Adam seemed to enjoy it.
You had me a little worried when you couldn't find those pieces! :)
+JK Brickworks That is an outstanding model, really quite amazing!
Is there a common place someone could go to purchase the pieces for any of your builds? I'd like to do the orrery, myself!
David Scott It takes a bit of legwork to source the pieces. You typically have to make multiple orders from resellers on bricklink.com. Rebrickable.com is a website that can help with this, by pointing you to stores that have some of the parts.
For most of my models, if you find them on my website I'll have a link to their page on rebrickable. About half way down that page there is a section related to buying the parts.
+JK Brickworks thanks!
+JK Brickworks Dude I was absolutely floored at the detail you put in to this. Amazing work. I couldn't believe how perfect the movement, portability and accessibility was. You really nailed this, man!!!
I swear to God, the biggest problem I have with Legos is not seeing the piece I need when its sitting right in front of my eyes.
John Jack omfg yes!!
you know what really grinds my gears, working with Lego's on a carpet and losing that one little piece and use a different piece for a substitute from a different set
Mario-Adonis Ron And later, you find the original piece...
+Aly Studios YES! i just hate when that happens
Overall, Lego is really just a severe pain in the butt. Why do we even like it lol
One must imagine Lego sisphyus happy
18:53 -- Fascinating gush of emotion from Adam; I imagine this was the exact moment of realization for the build and all it meant to him: at minimum a bone-deep empathy for Sisyphus.
Every LEGO builder ever knows the pain of trying to find a piece that ends up being right in front of you the whole time....
Ugh, the WORST. XD
indyjons321 ya
MooshroomLord 299 fucking liar
Worse, the pain of the piece being stuck in one of the bags you threw out, and then have to try and go through the garbage to find it. Or that fell off somewhere.
I have only ever ONCE...
ONCE called Lego and had to ask for a piece to be sent to me, and it was a long blue tube which was part of the masterpiece tie intercepter kit.
indyjons321 hhhhh
the timelapse of the cookie is amazing
Best part of the vid
cactus man where?
9:36
I KNEW SOMEONE WOULD SAY THIS THE SECOND I SAW IT
agreed
"Actually, lots of mediocre artists do that, too."
That's harsh, Adam.
One might even call it...
SAVAGE
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
Ha ha ha ha!! 😃. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻
That took me way too long... like the whole video....
One must imagine sisyphus happy
It's amazing how smooth the motion is. I love how the legs move faster as they step forward, then slow down for pushing back.
Several years ago I worked at a juvenile detention/rehabilitation center. One day we were out near the front gates with the kids when one of them asked "Why is that little man rolling a circle up a hill?" Sure enough, right there on the sign at the front gates, was a little stick man of Sisyphus. The other counselors had no idea, so I piped up "I know!" and I proceeded to tell the kids the story of Sisyphus. The kids loved it.
One of them insightfully pointed out:
"So it's a long, painful task that's doomed to fail, but he has to keep doing it anyway?"
"Yep."
"And it's on the sign to the place that's supposed to be helping us get ready for regular life?"
"Yep."
"That's kinda messed up."
"Yep."
Later that evening my supervisor politely asked me to never tell that story again.
Adam and Jaime basically made a career out of all the cool stuff we used to do as kids. Kudos to them.
I love how Adam organizes the Legos in his clutter fucked workshop.
Fuck true 😂
did you know Adam poops when he ejaculates?
I'm pretty sure Norm forces him to lol
Alex Hunter actually, it's "Legos"
the plural for Lego brick is lego bricks and not Legos
I love the cookie slowly disappearing at 9:35
MultiCheeseLouise hey I noticed that too
MultiCheeseLouise autuly the cookie disappears at 9:41
I was just going to ask if the cookie was an intrical part of the build. LOL
I had the same thought, figured I'd come down to the comments and sniff out who else thought alike.
Lol
15:34
"It's a sphere out of legos!" It's a, it's a...
(thinking: it's a spherego? Legere? Damnit.)
It's amazing!
A sphego?
Legosphere?
I love seeing Adam make stuff, or do stuff as a whole. His character and personality makes every situation a fun one.
I think it's because he doesn't act like a know it all or like he's above everyone else.
I hope Mythbusters return when space travel is cheap, and they strap Buster to a small heat shield and return him from orbit.
Buster got disintegrated, remember?
Cuber1025 what a finale indeed
Cuber1025 BUSTER 300,000,679.0
get the Kerbal Space Program, and create the Buster Kerman
Adam savage playing with legos.
A good day.
So many things to say about this. First, watching Adam build things is just deeply satisfying for some reason. Second, the design of that Lego set is just amazing, whether it's the design, or how lifelike the movement is, or the ability to hide or reveal the mechanism and how smoothly the side pieces slide open. Just beautiful. Lastly, a small criticism, the piece is too level to get the feel of pushing the boulder UP hill, especially since Sisyphus is bent over given the more realistic size of the rock. It just feels like the whole thing should be mounted at an angle. Other than that, perfect.
I’m gonna design a Sisyphean technic set that when turned on destroys itself, forcing the builder to start all over ;)
Nice
Adam savage is a genius.
Unlucky banter and that is because he has a savage name
TroutOfOrder This build was taken from JK Brickworks
he just built lego by manual.. and he even got asian slave to help him...
That is a nice boulder!
Donkey*
+Sarah Cormiea Its not a boudler, ITS A ROCK!!! A ROCK!!! Oh boy the pioneers used to ride these babies for miles!
+Matt Helseth lmfao
+Matt Helseth Hands down, my favourite SpongeBob episode ever.
+The Paranoid Blues Man same dude, sam
This is my 3rd time watching this video and it still amazes me on how simple yet complex the whole thing is.
Damn this hit me right in the feels. When i was a kid my mom and me used to have this kind of system, and all the ridiculous names we had for each pieces. And now... these days... i barely even talk to her anymore. Being grown up can suck really hard sometimes :/
You see Adam's passion in everything he makes, really nice to see
15:43 When my girlfriend asks me to come to bed.
xD
+Mcwierdo Perfect.
beautiful
+Mcwierdo yeah right! like you have a girlfriend.
+Mcwierdo You fuckin' genius
I've been following Jason for a couple of years now and his creations are totally amazing!!
I had no idea I have been “knowlling” my laundry for god knows how long, thanks! It really is meditative
The way they stacked the plate pieces is sooo satisfying to look at
the editing on these builds just keeps getting better and better.
You're not kidding! I really enjoyed the editing and what seemed to be different themes for the different portions of the build! Great work!!
+dasut I agree the editing was really special. This might be my favorite episode they've ever done.
DO MORE BUILDS ADAM!!!
I think I spent a whole decade of my life being literally surrounded by LEGO.
Thank you, guys!
Seeing this brought back merry memories.
The story about Exxon/Esso reminds me.
Back in 1972 I had a LEGO kit:
ESSO fuel truck with trailer, white and blue, with white 1x4 thick bricks with red ESSO logo on it.
And we had a ESSO gas station just down the road with the same logo...
This stuff is really cool. I really enjoy the passion with which Adam goes about designing. It comes so naturally to him, and as someone who pretty much lacks any sort of creativity or ingenuity I find it very entertaining. What a great talent he has.
when it comes to makin stuff this guy is a freakin savage!
+Disabler #iseewhatyoudidthere
Lol
I guess one could say he's even a damn savage, right?
katakis1 yes one could say that..
+katakis1 Adam, damn. Adam Savage... Clever.
I love how you actually feel the weight of the boulder while watching it...
McFly I can't believe you commented this.
This build was probably one of my favorite objects. You guys rocked! What a lovely piece of art! Well done!
I thought the title said "LEGO Syphilis Automata"
Orion Riedel, I must admit, I too did a double-take on that.
Thats why i clicked
Now that, was funny.
When I saw Automata I thought of NieR: Automata for a minute lol
Same here 😂
That's why the Lego's will always be the best toy for all ages! You can make what ever comes to your mind!
FYI. Exon is still Esso in most of the world.
+Mag FYI. Murica.
+Mag Yes, but not in the LEGO world. In fact, since the 90's Exxon's been replaced entirely by the fictional Octan.
But yea, Exxon is still Esso in other countries because their Standard Oil naming issue only affected US markets. Plus, because Socony is now Mobil, which actually merged with Exxon to form ExxonMobil, and California Standard is now Chevron, the whole name issue isn't a problem anymore at all.
+Mag Murica, get with it
Gentlemen, thank you. It's been a pleasure watching this. Jason, the designer, is an amazing builder.
Love the videos. Would love them even more if you added captioning. Lots of us deaf artists love your work.
Now make one where Indiana Jones is running AWAY from the sphere.
Ben Wiggins thankyou
The mechanics are just beautiful, and the hand crank makes it even more of a piece of art.
That is simply beautiful.
As a grandma, I'll still sit down with the kids and build Lego. It's educational, fun & for all ages.
I too have a Lego brick with Esso on it - probably older than I (I'm from 1960). However, while the name Esso was replaced by Exxon in the US (I think around 1972), here in Europe the name always remained Esso. In my country, Denmark (the home of Lego), Esso shut down in the mid 1980ies. But just a few months ago an Esso station turned up in the town where I work! It was a StatOil that closed down and removed their fancy plastic signs, and underneath were the old Esso signs painted on wood.
it's Esso in Canada too.
adam, I also had to wash a tear after it was done and moving...
man, what a design.
That is absolutely extraordinary.
I recently built a LEGO set with my mom, and she has probably the most efficient LEGO (re)building process I've ever seen. She Knolls *In time*. That is, after the first time building the set, she goes through the instructions backwards and organizes the parts in small bags step-by-step, maybe 30 steps per bag. Then she simply lays out one bag at a time to rebuild sets (my parents build and rebuild sets multiple times). This makes the organization area very small. Finding things is extremely easy and fast. The teardown is slower than just haphazardly tearing the set apart, but it was the most relaxing build method I've participated in.
Did Adam build the iPad pro holder? How?
+Zane Nash yep, he did it in 30 seconds before this video shoot.
+Tested That's SO Adam.
+Zane Nash table saw + wood
+Zane Nash My niece built one out of Lego, they're not hard.
+Yuri Corrêa it's the future i can see
Incredible video, complements for the editing
this brings back so many lego memories!
They have the exact same laugh at the same time 20:46
“That is just... I’m thrilled by that.”
ha ha!!
Haha damn I didn't expect it to be that exact!
Oh my god im... Wow
Its literally the exact same
LOL strange.
I'M WATCHING ADAM SAVAGE BUILD LEGOS AND I'M HAVING A BLAST
Colin Cantwell
LEGO. LEGO! its LEGO! L. E. G. O.
Jelle Z the brand is called LEGO. the bricks are called Lego's, you can't just ignore the plural because you want to be edgy
carsondrum nah man the plural of lego is lego
carsondrum lego means play well. you dont say play wells
a lego is an object.... i have multiple of that object, i have legos. Thats how im gonna say it because it will get me in the least arguments.
Woah that is actually very human-feeling. The cadence of his walk and the push of the stone are perfect! I can feel the force of the guy pushing!
The way the rock just barley moves to one side then falls back just as he is repositioning his legs, pretty cool!
I love how that simple motion of the servo can bring to life the Legos. I also like clockwork. That would be fun. Clockwork Legos. Has it been done? Hmmm...
It's probably been done, but not the way you're gonna do it.
That is so gorgeous. I want to make one and have it on my desk one day.
The mechanism they are discussing around 11:20 is called a 4-bar linkage. Dependent on your goals you can synthesize the desired motion with nothing more than a compass and a ruler or if you have more exact goals there are algebraic formulas for it. Very useful stuff for changing rotary motion into specific types of transnational motion.
I miss Mythbusters so much that i just watched Adam build with legos for 21 minutes.
+Trevor Arsenault me too
+Trevor Arsenault I've never seen Mythbusters on TV (that I recall), so it's difficult to miss it as a weekly broadcast. I don't think I've even seen all the episodes, as early on, I had to pirate them. I don't think the local Netflix even had all the episodes later on...such a shame.
Adam gets to relive his childhood all over again! Cool :-)
Haha same
Oh the joy of building things out of Lego bricks. For real though my kids get the Lego sets and I really enjoy helping them put together what ever it is. I really really I MEAN REALLY want this though. Just amazing
It's fun to see Adam so excited
9:35 lol! i love the time lapsed cookie eating!
15:43 Me when I smash a test without reviewing
Hahahahaha. Perfect. Lol.
yaaas hahahaha
Vulcan108 try 13:45 while eyes closed
Me when i lost my virginity*

lmao
Absolutely fantastic.
Adam makes the comment that building this kit is like getting a glimpse into the builder's mind. That is hands down my favorite part of building Lego. Seeing how the builders address various issues is absolutely fascinating. This is especially true with kits where they are recreating something that the design was not their's to start with, such as vehicles or spaceships from movies.
One day build means this is one hell of a day! :)
+Giaco Whatever They assembled something, not built something. But whatever lol
He needs to submit that to Lego Ideas, I would totally buy this
The bas reliefs are ridiculous. I'm amazed.
the movement is so organic, i cant believe the creator of this kit designed something so realistic, and its with lego!
I miss MythBusters.
TH3_RanMan // Jet same
TH3_RanMan // Jet missbusters
Same here
me to i got so sad i started to whatch every season
StudNugget 54 Ok, I'll search it up.
That thing belongs in a museum!!
Indiana Jones has said that line.
That's just about the coolest damn thing I've seen in a long time! I miss how creative you can be with Legos! Best toys ever.
An amazingly satisfying build to watch, thank you gents!
If you get Sisyphus Automata you can get a ointment for that.
Was that a syphilis joke? Because syphilis is treated with penicillin, not ointment.
I heard it’s being made by lilt... it’s a scrotally topical paste!
I wish I had a dad like Adam savage .
I had a similar bandsaw. Those 50s-60s era tools were "buy it once" built. Cast iron tops, easily serviceable parts and easily available parts. They were great.
That was full of awesomeness
9:36 Adam Savage's One Day Eats: Giant Cookie
In cooking the process of laying out the ingredients and tools before begining is called Mise En Place, and means putting in place.
That is an absolute work of art
Wow, just wow. Fabulous job!
My first LEGOs were bought in Denmark by my Dad in the 60s. We were stationed in Germany when he worked on a computer DARPA project in the late 60s and early 70s.
Those early LEGOs were a kick, but the design mastery of this project is super delightful. Thanks!
as a classics student and artist this is rad af. as someone who failed maths this is amazing
the wooden base should be slightly inset and tilted so that Sisyphus can be on an incline
This is really sophisticated.
Wow, the animation really is perfect!
JKBrickWorks is awesome! Glad you guys featured his stuff!
was sent here again but by a man that cant understand water
Its amazing what Adam can make in one day
Incredible creation of LEGO. Wow! 😍
I missed mythbusters soon much. now that I know that Adam has this (sort of) show, it feels like another summer day watching him and Jamie, just without jamie
This could be my best 21 minutes in life.
As a long time Lego fan - from way back in the 70's - this was pure fun to watch. Eating the time lapsed cookie was also a nice touch. Way cool!
Pulling a hacksaw on a Lego piece is simply savage O.o
That is oddly satisfying to watch
15:43 when your gf says she's in the mood
Alexander Juliano 😂😂😂😂 I fucking died 😂😂😂
ITS TIME TO PUT IT IN!!! Hahahahaha lol!!
LMFAO!
anybody think this is nerds fun lol
Alexander Juliano best comment ever
Adam's traveling routine is so wholesome. 😊
never get bored of watching this episode.
I love how excited you guys get building things.. I'd love to make stuff with you guys someday
Steve Makes Stuff .
Steve Makes Stuff yeah write
I'd love to be this excited about ANYTHING but I'm just waiting to die.
Florez, see a Doctor?
I don't live in a state where Doctor assisted suicides are a thing, but I suppose I could literally by a one way ticket out there.
I think we all would love too.
this was a design by jk brickworks right
LukeaLoad yeah it was
Clorox Bleach i swear your everywhere
Elite Bruh
He's not everywhere, practically everyone uses that name.
its so cool... you know what- id take that as a christmas gift any day of the week...
Awesome. I loved this thing when Jason showed it off. Seeing it being put together is even better. I wish Jason would put up build videos of all his stuff.
