Thank you Harri this was my wifes favorite song that was our wedding song back in 1982. She passed away almost 2 weeks ago after a 40 year illness. And thank you PNCOMBIES for making this happen it means so much to me. ❤
Such a beautiful song, one of the most beautiful duets. Lionel's and Diana's voices intertwined into a masterpiece. Originally written for a movie also called "Endless Love", which didn't do well at the box office, the song took off. It sold 3 million copies and remained at Number 1 for 9 weeks. I hope Tom H. was able to enjoy this. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and PNCombie. What a kind gesture on your behalf. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
I saw Lionel Richie in concert and when he was going to do this song he said "I've been asking Diana Ross for 40 years to make a surprise appearance at one of my concerts to do this song with me and she has turned me down every time." He then walked toward the wings of the stage and said "Well Ladies and Gentlemen, tonight...(The crowd is starting to go crazy), it's not going to happen again." He then had the audience sing Diana's part lol.
They did. When I contacted Harri about my idea to have him play this for Tom H, I attached a lyrics video. Harri responded and he said he was going to look for a live version. So, this is what we got. It's poor quality to me, but it was about the message, and the tribute. That said, I wish he had used this version. Cheers! ua-cam.com/video/7Bwwo7ctG10/v-deo.html
@@pncombies oh my goodness that's so awesome! Not to sound like a complete idiot but is this available on UA-cam right now? I guess I could go look but wow!!! One of the best songs in the world honestly
PN, How thoughtful of you to submit this for Tom H., and my condolences for your endearing loss. This pairing by Lionel Ritchie and Diana Ross, singing "Endless Love" was as smooth as glass and so endearing. Harri, your review and thoughtful words were most fitting. Beautiful
Neal, this was so sweet of you to request this beautiful tune for Tom H., we are so sorry for Tom's loss, just believe it is only temporary, you will be together again. Thanks Harri
Thinking of you and your lovely wife, Tom H. Take care of yourself and know others care! I appreciate you going the extra mile, Harri. Thank you, brother! 👊🏻
Saw Diana Ross in concert in Vegas. Swear she had about six costume changes - each fabulous. Worked with her sister for a while (amazing physician!) Also saw Lionel Richie in concert -blown away. What a special tribute.
I saw Lionel at Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut this past June. Eight days later I was going to Vegas. I find out not only was Lionel going to be in Vegas at the same time as me, he was playing at the hotel I was staying at, Wynn Las Vegas. So I had to see him again lol. Twice in 8 days! I was also lucky to See Diana Ross for the first time 4 months ago in New York City. One of the best concerts I have ever seen and I've been to hundreds of concerts in my life.
@@blade3184 I saw Lionel at an outdoor amphitheater in Austin, opening act CLo Green. Ha! Very different, so fun. Treasure for you to see him twice in 8 days. (Like the time I saw Cheap Trick twice in a week and in 2 different cities - one being Vegas!). Love it! ✌️
@@jenniferkasowicz9463 I also saw Lionel and Cee Lo on that same tour. It was at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, in Bethel NY on the site of the famous Woodstock festival, It's another outdoor amphitheater. It was Lionel's first time there and he said he loved the place so much he was going to come back the next year. That was in 2014 and he STILL hasn't come back lol.
Such a thoughtful thing for you to do Neal ❤and I hope Tom H sees it, as I am sure he will be ecstatic. A beautiful song that brings tears to my eyes, thank you too Harri.
When I asked Harri to play this for Tom H, I found a studio version with lyrics. He was all-in doing this for Tom H and he said he'd look for a live version. I wished i would have said to him: "let me find one." Anyway, we got this and I agree; the audio sucks. I found another vid - perhaps the one you're referring to - of this same performance. The quality is much, much better. ua-cam.com/video/7Bwwo7ctG10/v-deo.html
Lionel Ritchie wrote this for the film. The executive said. Great but who are we going to get to sing the duet with Diana Ross? Lionel told him that he had been known to sing a bit. Lionel got the job lol
Sympathies to your requestor, and truly a great love song. But is it just me or is Diana pulling the old upstage my duet partner?? Sorry Miss Ross if I'm off base.
I don't think she's trying to upstage him, she's performing for the audience both in the room and out in tv land. If you notice, the camera pretty much STAYS on her. She sings to LR and stays by his side.
@@pncombies as a performer while singing a highly emtional, intimate love song, you give your singing partner more than a cursory glance! For God's sake, it is one of tbe best love songs ever! You listen 1x. Go watch Luther Vandross and Mariah Carey sing it.

She looks at him, Regina...several times early in the song. @ 1:16, for example, she's face to face with Richie.
