Doc Williams is one of the most unappreciated of the country pioneers. In Canada he brought "name" country music to the small communities who would never get a chance to see real stars they had only heard on the radio. I have seen him a number of time [Bangor, Halifax, Lunenburg] years ago and always enjoyed his show. Thank you so much Bill for this clip - I really enjoyed it.

I remember when I was around 7 years old hearing his show at the Red Barn in the Catskills. He put on such a great show that we purchased an album. I remember playing The Cat Came Back over and over again.

Was in Dr’s waiting room in 70’s. An old man waiting his turn sang Red Wing for my children. He said he wrote it. I don’t know his name

"Dan, let's fiddle it away". Doc Williams total lack of facial expression is spooky as hell. It's almost as if this entire Appalachian Country music scene didn't exist on a national level. Everybody seems pretty joyless on stage, hardly anyone smiles, except maybe Chickie. The crowd of up to a dozen people all sitting at tables with zero drinks was pretty lively. I have a large lot of very old Doc Williams stuff available on e b a y if any serious Doc Williams collectors or archivists is listening. It's the moon landing anniversary. Posted in honor of Andrew J. Smik.

I've got alot of snap shots my mom Julie Powell took of them both. They used to stay overnight at her house when they were performing near Keene NH.

@@grammadee9443 The good ole days. I've got hundreds of photo's my mom had and keep finding more. She passed away at 87 May of 2021 and I'm still sorting stuff. She used to go to a place in Reeds Ferry NH called "The Loan Star Ranch", it was a outdoor venue that had a "bunkhouse" for bad weather. A lot of the big stars like Johnny Cash, Ernest Tubb Sr., Fearon Young, Dick Curless and many others played there. Got a lot of pics of my mom and step father with all the above and also have 100+ reel to reel tapes that were from live shows there too.
      The memories.....
