I think it may be time to put down your "happy birthday" posters. Also, great video, you're really keeping up on your promise of posting more here ( 2 vids in half a year, YAAAAAY)
Wot, thank you for your past videos, I've had my account for a while and have been putting off making videos for and extremely long time. Finally, I'm going to start :)
Before you started doing tubecasts on the irl channel, I had no idea Wot existed. And this whole "having a almost private channel" goes to show how much of your work you do in the shadows.
People watch their videos, occasionally having to watch an advertisement before the actual video. The company that are advertising pays youtube for showing their ad to someone, youtube then gives part of that to the owner of the channel.
Well, I'll be able to have a pretty bad gameplay video of The Showdown Effect, but I'm still grasping how to sync my sound and video up so it's not that good, but I'll learn as I grow.
For instance if you did videos on Starcraft 2, you'd go to the SC2 forums or something and say "Hey I recently started making videos on *insert SC2 content here* check it out! This way people who are interested in the thing you're making (i.e Starcraft) will find you instead of random people who don't like it. Then you can discuss your content on the forums so you don't annoy anyone and people will be interested.
I've been doing a let's play channel for about 4 months now. I've got almost 30 videos up, 7 subscribers, and an average of 5 views per video... It can be pretty hard to find an audience, but the important thing to do is not give up.
Well, if forums aren't working, here's another suggestion: Be a nice guy. Honestly, all my subscribers are from my earlier comments on this video. I made fun of the advertising, but didn't do it myself, but I got PM's telling me I seemed pretty good. If you're nice, then people may just notice that, and it attracts less hate then advertising.
Because people want to see comments about the video, not another channel. It's like fights against religion, people find that stuff annoying. It's better to post in forums that relate to your videos, I've been doing that and it seems to work, as long as it's in the right section.
Hey Wot, say you saying about wanting to play with vlogers and I saw someone talking about Ashens wanting to contact NerdCubed then later seeing him liking the video. Is this a big possibility?
I'm genuinely curious as to how that might be done. I have tried being as polite as possible before on comments while advertising my second channel, and I still end up getting spammed with hate replies and name calling. And the only result I get from it is maybe one new subscriber every six or seven spam comments I write... It doesn't seem worth it.
How I found Dan and Wot? One of the immature people in the comments saying how much Nerd³ sucks and how much better *insertyourfavoritegamerhere* was. Funny enough I've become a huge Nerd³ fan and never went back to *insertyourfavoritegamerhere's* page. Well done immature person in the comment section. Well done :)
Forums are rubbish. I've been booted off multiple forums by moderators who seem to think advertising a well-known channel is okay, but if nobody's heard of the guy then it's instantly crap and is irrelevant to the section...
No probs! I get that it's hard to find help considering the normal make up of a comments section is 90% arsehole. And my PC has a stroke if I even look at a game but I do enjoy watching casting from Husky and TB.
Your channel needs to be massive in order to earn a living from UA-cam. NerdCubed probably makes a good amount of money, they also have the IRL channel.
How do you post videos on Reddit? Every time I've tried, a moderator removes it. Even if I'm posting somewhere generic like the gaming subreddit. I finally just told them to shove up their bums.
Of course my comment was over the top, why would it not be? While you can advertise in the comments section, it'll always be intrusive and irritating to people. While it may be your opinion that a comment is not intrusive on an uploaders channel, the Uploader may feel irritated because they worked hard and never advertised. You have to look at it from multiple perspectives.
Wot! Your advice isn't working. I'm trying to advertise on Reddit, and all of my links are being removed by moderators because "You're not allowed to advertise here."
Do you not realize after all my other comments that I, and everybody else, have been joking? Because if you haven't, I'd like to know where you went to school.
I'm not even looking at my own perspective. I've seen many cases when UA-camrs ask not to advertise on their channels, and people advertise on said channel. "reduce everything to an argument" You're the one who started replying to a comment after it was already clear that it was meant as a joke, thus initiating the argument. I'm perfectly alright with advertising, but if your going to, at least do it on something that relates to your video, such as a forum.
Unfortunately you can't advertise anywhere on UA-cam without the droves of immature, irrational haters spamming your comments with the kind of horse shit Spikepixel is spewing. I know it can be tough to deal with, but keep making videos and putting the word out, and eventually word of mouth will be a bigger spread for you than advertising in comments and on Reddit.
No shit, sherlock. But your comment, which is clearly an over the top sarcastic one, appears to be poking fun at the idea of advertising like that at all. My point was, you can advertise in comments without being intrusive or irritating, a point I assumed you didn't understand.
I have just notices your tie. That is one of the best ties I have seen
oh please, after that night in paris ive seen you in every kind of lighting
Took so long for me to find ur channel but I love it much more serious stuff when I'm in the mood
Your eyes are fantastic, how have I never noticed before? The lack of beard has made me see you in a new way!
I've just started out on UA-cam and this was really interesting and useful. Thanks Wot!
To be honest, I really enjoy the way you and Dan say your name
Very informative, I'm sure I'll use this in the future. Thanks Wot!
Finally, I'm going to start :)
i blame the conditioner, defiantly
omg its Watt !!!!!!!! just found you randomly
Paused at 1:22. Will never sleep again.
i'm the brains and dan likes to pretend we don't have them.
Before you started doing tubecasts on the irl channel, I had no idea Wot existed. And this whole "having a almost private channel" goes to show how much of your work you do in the shadows.
Depends on what subreddit.
Maybe one day you guys can make an irl video instead of a gaming video.
I'd love to get involved in it!
we do have a few but nowhere near as many as we'd like. also our few gaming friends don't talk to many of the vlogers we'd like to play with too.
I have to find a way to remove the Cuban Music in the background, hopefully my new Microphone will be able to do that with a filter.
i only found this through your twitter :3
Sure^^ Why not. You seem like a nice guy :)

yes . double so as they are dans from march and not mine from last week

I boosted the audio, and it seems to be better.
I was being completely sarcastic. Those are the type of advertisements that are completely annoying.
I've been doing a let's play channel for about 4 months now. I've got almost 30 videos up, 7 subscribers, and an average of 5 views per video...
It can be pretty hard to find an audience, but the important thing to do is not give up.
If DXTORY would record The Binding of Isaac I would have videos up. Sadly, it does not pick up flash.

The video's up, but I couldn't do anything about the music or syncing. Audio seems better though.
Depends, If you want to add a custom thumbnail, you can do that. Otherwise, you could take a screenshot of your video and use that as your thumbnail.
Wot I never new you had a channel
i'll have you know I light the baftas in 2009. i can light my self to look like a newborn baby if i want. ;)
Do you have any suggestions for a voice recorder? So far I've been using Audacity, since it's free and what not.
different lighting,
Wot has very nice eyes /endirrelevantcomment
my fave part of that comment is the fact you denied nothing xD
I just renumbered, Wot, are you and Dan OK with me reuploading the Blasphemy 101 video?
Do you personally pick what your thumbnail looks like? Or is it done automatically by UA-cam?
DON'T LEAVE. I WANT TO JOIN IN TOO CONSIDERING I HAVE ONLY 2 SUBSTANDARD VIDEOS SO FAR!
And how you do it.
Because people want to see comments about the video, not another channel. It's like fights against religion, people find that stuff annoying. It's better to post in forums that relate to your videos, I've been doing that and it seems to work, as long as it's in the right section.

how do you look younger since your birthday? O.o

Nonononononononononono
You can advertise on forums and websites related to your content. Doesn't have to be on youtube.
Nice video, really gave me an interesting view on video views and promoting on UA-cam.

I feel angry and happy at the same time. I'll call you a poopy head and say sorry. Poopy head. Very sorry.
