Tommy Bolin had a very rare talent he can play guitar with the very best, change music styles on a whim, write great songs that jam but are mature in subject matter and he could sing! The two albums he did with The James Gang, most songs were already written and were worked out by him from bands before.
WoW...I still have the ticket stub from this show!!!!!! How come no one mentions who the James Gang warmed up for???????= (original) Black Sabbath!///I, too, saw the rich stadium show which left me in awe of Bolin! I'm still a fan.....peace out
I saw the James Gang in 1973 in Rock Hill SC when I was 14 and to this day have never seen a more staggering guitar performance than Tommy Bolin's that night. And I've seen EVERYBODY. I could barely talk afterward.
I saw the james gang at the bedford county (Pa.) fair in '75. Still remember that show. Can't believe it's been that long ago. I'll see it again on the other side.

Tommy's guitar playing was blistering between 73 and 74.
notice the riff at 1:39, and it became Love Child when Tommy played with Deep Purple
Yes totally agree. Great use of that cool riff.
