I've listened to this song a million times, and I can never EVER get sick of the bridge harmonies, and Nick's falsetto on the 'I fall' part is absolutely breath taking!
I am of John Lennon's generation. Neil is a beautifully powerful songwriter with lots of Beatles influence in his music. I am very moved by his songs. John would approve very much! Go Neil.
I've got a smile as wide as the equator! That sing-a-long with the crowd at the end was just amazing... I had goosebumps! Neil Finn and Crowded House are incredible! One of the best bands of all time!
Thank you, belatedly. Yes, he leads the crowd with a gentle hand. A Beautiful version, Neil Finn always makes each performance of his songs a unique rendering and this is no exception. Hearing each one it always sounds perfect, just right and the only way it could be. Very creative individual. I also noticed on this his reaction turning around at about 0:45 seconds when the drummer does a cymbal crash. On the original studio recording the drums are a symphony of simplicity, sparse, where the slightest snare tap moves the song thoughtfully along (the snare at the end of the second verse in the original at the space in "I'll be waiting when you call...When ever I fall..." are a mastery of understatement and so worth the wait)....the drums on this are very good but different, almost and ever so slightly busy....just a thought I had. Again, it's beautiful on it's own, as they all are. Thanks again...
Wow! I forgot how moving this song was. Love songs are tough because love is the #1 topic that is written about. But, every so often a song rises above the fray. Nice job.
I am from Germany and I wasn´t to able watch Live Earth on TV on 2007. So I decided to look now what happened. And I have to admit the best audience and the best concert was seen in Australia. I like watching CH and now I know Eskimo Joe and Missy Higgins who are (both) totally unknown in Germany. It´s great to hear the people sing togehter with Finn and it was a great final when Missy, Wofmother, Jack Johnson, Butler e.g. entered the stage. Go on Oz.
saw this live online too and love how they just kept going when the lights went out -- really moving performance -- so great live and their recent album is great
They are most certainly still together and doing a couple of shows down under in Sydney in November...maybe they'll tour again in 2017. Saw them in 2007 in Canada...they were great.
I still can't get over that their big farewell was the opera house show and their re-entry with the worldwide stage/audience of Live Earth was even bigger than that. Karmic bookends in a way.
Does Neil Finn realise how this song nails me to the wall every time I hear it? So brilliant. One of the best songwriters of our time......of any time.
What a fantastic band. Always loved them and got to see them in Birmingham this week, it was amazing! Brilliant audience participation and humble words from such a talented singer/songwriter Neil Finn. So glad they're back! Thanks for the video anyswe :o)
I remember watching this Live On Line as it went out, would have Loved to have been there, Esp when the kept playing when the stage lights were turned of at the end
I desperately tried to get tickets to see them at The Troubadour in L.A. with no luck. But I'm seeing them in Chicago next month. Can't wait! Neil Finn is a consummate showman - one of the best in the biz. Thanks for this clip, mate!
@cheatmaster781 Yes, that's Matt Sherrod, he drummed for Beck, is officially in Crowded House, and is currently working with John Mayer's old bassist, David LaBruyere on some Sons of Summer stuff during Neil's Pajama Club tour.
craking video....couple of keys lower than when I saw them live many years back but still a quality perfomance and such a great great song ...thank you for sharing ...Jonny Reyn
yeah man just a shame i cant find an actual recording of it though, it would be great to have this on mp3! but you have done one hell of an influential favour by posting this well flippin done!!
I'm really close tonight And I feel like I'm moving inside her Lying in the dark I think that I'm beginning to know her Let it go I'll be there when you call And whenever I fall at your feet Won't you let your tears rain down on me? Whenever I touch your slow turning pain You're hiding from me now There's something in the way that you're talking The words don't sound right But I hear them all moving inside you Know I'll be waiting when you call Hey, whenever I fall at your feet Won't you let your tears rain down on me? Whenever I touch your slow turning pain The finger of blame has turned upon itself And I'm more than willing to offer myself Do you want my presence or need my help? Who knows where that might lead I fall Whenever I fall at your feet Won't you let your tears rain down on me? Whenever I touch your slow turning pain Whenever I fall (at your feet) Whenever I fall
When they played at the Opera house there were road blocks for 8 hours. Everyone in the whole country knew it was a moment to be seen. So I say to you man, next time get the blue bus.
I don't get why this question got negative votes. It was a legit question--was Matt Beck's drummer? And the answer is yes. Nothing negative about that.
how fucking cool is this band?? i prefer this version to the album purely coz it's alot more moving and gets the point across pure and straight, and the bit at the end gives me SHIVERS its that powerful, hall of fame open the doors for Niel!!!
he thinks it's funny that he sang it at Nicole and Keiths wedding considering it's a song written about having an argument with his own wife ;) but nonetheless, to me it will always be the most mind blowing Crowded House song to date.
I've listened to this song a million times, and I can never EVER get sick of the bridge harmonies, and Nick's falsetto on the 'I fall' part is absolutely breath taking!
You mean Mark Hart. Nick does a low hamony
I am of John Lennon's generation. Neil is a beautifully powerful songwriter with lots of Beatles influence in his music. I am very moved by his songs. John would approve very much! Go Neil.
Nothing could ever amount to the talent Neil Finn has.
I could watch this over and over and never be bored.
Mark Hart's harmony in the bridge.... my gosh, I can't get over it. so good.
All these years later and i still get the chills when I hear this song......❤
I've got a smile as wide as the equator! That sing-a-long with the crowd at the end was just amazing... I had goosebumps! Neil Finn and Crowded House are incredible! One of the best bands of all time!
Incredible song, one of my favourites. Really under-rated band.
This is the magic that genius and music only can deliver
I love how the audience sings along!

This song brings me in tears

It's a rare occasion these days when a song makes a 15 year old cry.
this one is enough to bring tears to my eyes...
the sing along is just superb.
Was at Live Earth sydney. I was there and it was an incredible concert. Crowded house and in particular Niel Finn are unreal!
Best. Band. Ever.
Saw them first time 20 yrs ago in a small club in Boston and 3x since. Never cease to amaze.
What an incredible band.....WHY AREN'T YOU THE BIGGEST BAND IN THE WORLD TODAY?
Melted. So pure.

I love when the entire crowd sings! Magical!

God bless all. Paul Hester - your energy is everywhere now.
I just saw them in Vienna. Had me from the first second. Great band, especially live!
bet nobody on earth dislikes this song.brilliant.
I would love to see this band live. Shame they are not together.Pay proper good money to see them.Levellers are great live.
They are most certainly still together and doing a couple of shows down under in Sydney in November...maybe they'll tour again in 2017. Saw them in 2007 in Canada...they were great.
Saw them last week it was Amazing!
I still can't get over that their big farewell was the opera house show and their re-entry with the worldwide stage/audience of Live Earth was even bigger than that. Karmic bookends in a way.

I remember watching this Live On Line as it went out, would have Loved to have been there, Esp when the kept playing when the stage lights were turned of at the end
if liked this song, check out the Sydney Opera House gig. The whole country of Australia absolutely loves these guys.
Live version sounds better to me than studio recording .
Great song ❤️
4given7x I think that of just about every live version of every Crowded House song on youtube! :)
Neil Finn is an amazing song writer. His lyrics are so intricate, he truly is a poet. His words transcend time.
I desperately tried to get tickets to see them at The Troubadour in L.A. with no luck. But I'm seeing them in Chicago next month. Can't wait! Neil Finn is a consummate showman - one of the best in the biz. Thanks for this clip, mate!
Oh, beautiful song......💖
Linda. 😘😘😘

V. GOOD audio and video, just an amazing song with a brilliant performance.
P.S. This song is pretty easy to play on acoustic guitar and sounds great.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
He always did play it with the capo at the third fret.. if you check other videos you'll see
love love love this song :) every word gives me butterflies and flutters down my back amazing one of those songs can do that :)
I married my wife to this song as it is perfect.
AMAZING !
I'm really close tonight
And I feel like I'm moving inside her
Lying in the dark
I think that I'm beginning to know her
Let it go
I'll be there when you call
And whenever I fall at your feet
Won't you let your tears rain down on me?
Whenever I touch your slow turning pain
You're hiding from me now
There's something in the way that you're talking
The words don't sound right
But I hear them all moving inside you
Know
I'll be waiting when you call
Hey, whenever I fall at your feet
Won't you let your tears rain down on me?
Whenever I touch your slow turning pain
The finger of blame has turned upon itself
And I'm more than willing to offer myself
Do you want my presence or need my help?
Who knows where that might lead
I fall
Whenever I fall at your feet
Won't you let your tears rain down on me?
Whenever I touch your slow turning pain
Whenever I fall (at your feet)
Whenever I fall
Wonderful crowd 😭😭
amazing!!!
Yes, Tremendo!!
Loved it, excellent!!
it's mark, matt, liam and neil. basically everyone but nick sings the bridge. (nick harmonizes on the "i faaaall" though)
freaking love it!
I'm more than willing to offer myself. That's just serving the other person and being there for them.
Love the girl waving her videophone back and forth with the crowd -- makes me dizzy just thinking about watching that played back!
wow that was good
@cheatmaster781 yes it is. He is now in Crowded House
@Funked Up He uses the Boss Vibrato pedal
I thought the same thing when I first saw him with Crowded House. I looked into it, it is.
neil finn is seriously amazing.
love this...thnx!!!! :))))
❤
@flapjack1228 It's not a Les Paul. It's a Gretsch Duojet or similiar model.
@cheatmaster781
Yes he is, now full-time member of Crowded House.
This is just an amazing song, the melody is fantastic......
anyone know where I can get just the audio for this?
I'm in love with it.
@Riekeyou Wow I didn't know they were very popular in Sweden.
When they played at the Opera house there were road blocks for 8 hours. Everyone in the whole country knew it was a moment to be seen. So I say to you man, next time get the blue bus.
Does anyone know how the singer/guitarplayers amplifier is tuned? I guess clean and with delay, but can anyone give it to me more specified?
beautiful! personal preference is a female vocalist for background vocals
@cheatmaster781 It is yes, Matt Sherrod.
Does anyone know where i can find the whole show on DVD ?
Yes it is.
I don't get why this question got negative votes. It was a legit question--was Matt Beck's drummer? And the answer is yes. Nothing negative about that.
anbody know what modulation pedal he is using at 1:25?
yes it is, it's matt sherrod
how fucking cool is this band?? i prefer this version to the album purely coz it's alot more moving and gets the point across pure and straight, and the bit at the end gives me SHIVERS its that powerful, hall of fame open the doors for Niel!!!
@cheatmaster781 Yes it is, Matt Sherrod
I missed it!
Very good!
But I prefer the James Blunt version ;)
Is this recorded on swedish television? q:
I was thinking the same thing... just a touch to fast...
he thinks it's funny that he sang it at Nicole and Keiths wedding considering it's a song written about having an argument with his own wife ;)
but nonetheless, to me it will always be the most mind blowing Crowded House song to date.
@anyswe On 26 March 2005, aged 46, Hester committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in a park near his home. his name Paul Hester....
James Blunt can sing better than lot of other singers...maybe you should listen to him before saying he can't sing!
