Been a big fan of Fletcher since his college days, was thrilled to see him an Eagle and this is awesome. My wife has dealt with him plenty of times at her old job and said he's a cool guy. Glad to see him and his team having success. That driver is awfully consistent. Great job.

This was the most blistering entertaining 1/8 mile drags I’ve seen 👍🏿
This car has no wheelie bars, almost stock body and it is that damn fast. Jesus christ this thing is insane and so damn well balanced, those launches are so incredibly smooth, the tuners did an incredible job on this vehicle. The speeds this thing does in such a short time and distance, approaches top fuel dragster levels and yet it has nowhere near the crazy horsepowers those cars have and it's a full body car, the engineering that went into this monster of a car is astounding.
This has to be one of the best Fox body's out there.
Pat Pete of the Cardinals has a few Chevys... So therefore I now automatically like Fletcher better lol. Man this thing is awesome!

481X is not anything GM or Chevy. Deep skirted block like a Chrysler Hemi. Block is billet. The cam location is higher in the block than a BBC or BBF for better valve actuation. The heads look more like a Warren Johnson era Olds prostock spec (AKA TFS Ford). NOTHING Chevy about it except maybe transmision bolt pattern.

will t I agree. a full promod car beating a GTR isn’t impressive at all. The only thing this foxbody is good at is going fast in a straight line, it has more power and torque and more cylinders then the fastest GTR.
Around a track of course, it’s no match for a GTR. Or in Rally, or in basic handling.

A Johansen and that vette is basically a pro mod except that it has a stockish wheel base. Fletch's coupe is a STOCK SUSPENSION CAR. They're both on radials yes but totally diff classes of car.
He treed the vette. May have had a slower ET, but he crossed the line first because of it.

I just can't get into 1/8th mile runs. 1/4th mile is just so much more interesting to me. It opens up a lot of possibilities for different build variations. A car with a lot of bottom end can get over taken at the end of the track by a car with mid / top end power or vice versa, as opposed to every car being geared for all low end power but not much beyond that.
none of that comes into play with 3500+hp. it's just whoever can manage the power better is who wins. none of these cars are limited by power. it's safer and easier on parts to run 1/8

When I see these high dollar cars run the 8th at these speeds, I'm never impressed by them, (because of the dollar amount) but I am impressed by my buddy's 68 charger that runs the 8th in 5.89 with less than 20k in the drive train, no weight reduction, street legal, and not tubbed. The car's weight at said time, with him in it, plus all the shit in his trunk, was around 4400 lbs. This is a 440 bored to 512, N/A, running on 100+octane. No nitrous, no blower, no turbo. His last pass time required him to install a roll cage per, blah, blah, blah. The car hasn't seen the track since. His peers say that if he tubbed it, it would shave a full second or so off.

I was at that race. That fox is a solid running car, I don't think they had a bad pass all night. There was actually a car there that broke the world record and then set it again in that class but had mechanical issues from a monster wheel stand.
