By moving towards the side we want to hit the ball the opponent will know that where we are going to hit the ball so isn't that a disadvantage.

The opponent judges direction by the flight and direction of the ball as it leaves your racket (first two meters after you’ve hit the ball). You cannot therefore disguise direction, unless opponent guesses direction, which is rare in tennis groundstrokes.
