Like many Coldplay songs, "Clocks" is about love. The lyrics are about being in a conflicted, but very intense relationship as precious time slips away. Furthermore, this song is a comment on the moral crises we face on a daily basis, as reflected in the line: Am I part of the cure? Or am I part of the disease? Speaking about this lyric with MTV, Chris Martin said: "I reckon everybody in the world questions whether they're useful to the world or not." He continued: "Some people think they're doing marvelous things. Hitler thought he was doing great things for the world, and yet we'd all say, 'No, no, no, he was doing terrible things.' Some people would say that Coldplay is a great thing for music and the world. Other people would regard us as the devil incarnate, so of course it's always a conflict."
@@leeparks15 OMG the bracelets were amazing! It added so much to the experience! The only thing I didn't like is how rough the fabric is on the $50 t-shirt I bought. 🤣 Scratchy!! My concert goals were strong for Coldplay! 🔥😉
Wife here..WOW..Love Coldplay and especially this song!!.., Amazing how time can put such perspective on a song..!!.." Am I part of the cure or a part of the disease"..Gets to me 2!!..also the line.."Home home where I wanted to roam"..On the road as a Musician he's missing out on important moments of home life..,
I don't believe people hate Coldplay like they claim to. It became one of those cool things to say like disliking Eminem. I think it's because they became so big.
@@allbies i think it’s a similar situation to ed sheeran, truly great songs from years ago but the songs have become much more commercialised recently so it turns people off
I saw them perform live and this song was incredible. He played that piano so fiercly on stage. His chair was duct taped to the stage so it wouldn't slide away!
Already 20 years old... i was 7 when it released. Damn times flies. But i still remember the day i first heard it, since my Dad was and still is a big Coldplay fan.
This and Speed of sound are my fav Coldplay songs but they have so many...A sky full of stars live is fantastic too! The crowd are an integral part of the live version.
Yes, Coldplay everyday! My other favorites are Yellow, The Scientist, Fix You, Viva La Vida (I think you have done) and every one of their other songs! Great request; great reaction. Again, thank you Asia and BJ for all that you are doing to entertain us 🥰. -Joni
One of the most amazing songs ever made. It’s beautiful. Also, I’d recommend reviewing their live version the did in Toronto. One of their best, and one of the most chilling lives ever performed. You won’t be upset
Great reaction! You guys described them perfectly. Coldplay - the king of earwarm songs, in a good way. 😄 Many to choose, but "The Scientist" is one of my favorites of theirs.
Yep YELLOW & FIX YOU, are 2 of the best, and early work of COLPLAY. They are absolute classics. Pretty much everybody knows them, specially in Europe & South America. Yellow is from 22 yrs ago. I can't believe it. How time flies.
Lots of good British bands out there from around this time. Stone Roses, Radiohead, Travis, Charlatans UK, Oasis, James, etc. What the British call "pop" music is better than what we call pop music here in the United States.
Clocks is actually ambiguous. Its full of double meanings. Love yes, but life as well. Coldplay are amazing. Viva la vida is banging! Speed of sound is good too.
Love everything about this song and Coldplay. I've seen them 'live' a number of times and yes, Chris Martin plays the piano. I am happy and proud to have been born and live in Chris Martin's home city, Exeter. They (Coldplay) often come home to play local gigs, although the last time I saw them locally was in 2016 at Powderham Castle. They were amazing!
Hymn for the Weekend by Cold Play featuring Beyonce is good too. The video is Breathtaking ☺️🤩. You should definitely watch that one and you'll see what type of band they are.
Awesome choice this is one of my favorite Coldplay songs. The song "Fix You " is another great song by Coldplay it is very emotional and always brings a tear to my eye
The opening riff has been sampled many times and why you are likely familiar with it - but not the lyrics. It is a bit cryptic but lead singer Chris Martin said it boils down to how clocks tick ahead one second at a time at the same pace as always, but how we as humans are always seeing an urgency to time that can create a lot of confusion and problems when things don't go as speedily as we may like.
Lead singer Chris Martin and American actress Gwyneth Paltrow married on 5 December 2003 in a quiet ceremony in the presence of their friends and family. Their daughter Apple was born in May 2004 in London. Paltrow filed for divorce in April 2015 and it was finalised on 14 July 2016.
Chris Martin the writer lead singer plays the piano like Freddie Mercury so there's always gonna be piano in the mix.theg also use the visuals of videos to get the lyrics and or feel of the song across.
Highly recommend reacting to their live performances. There famous worldwide and have been voted numerous times as the best live concert or the year. I recommend fix you in San paolo.
The beginning might remind you of “When love takes oves” by Kelly Rowlland and David Guetta. It’s practiclly the same, only electronic, from what I remember.
This song was massive when it came out - I remember the first time hearing this band, their break out song was “Yellow”. “ Trouble” was also another great song. Personally I prefer their earlier stuff.
@@stu2333 I like the first 4 albums, after that it became extremely commercial. X&Y is really good for me, Viva la vida became already quite commercial but still could vibe to it! ;)
Greatest band of the 21st century. Specially the earlier tunes, such as this. However you need the OFFICIAL VID as well. Different feel. I know you probably know these title songs, but anyway : "yellow", "the scientist", "fix you", "viva la vida" Jus listen to the composition of the songs, and the instrumentals of coldplay songs. Uplifting, melodic, euphoric, mesmerizing, relaxing, thought provoking. The current songs (past 10 yrs), although good, can't touch the early stuff. There is youtube videos of a particular tour in Rio De Jeniro Brazil. The live performances are great. Even if you don't react to them, just watch them later if you have spare time. However not before you react to the official songs first :))

As someone with anxiety, I think the song is about someone suffering from anxiety.
Yes
Coldplay "SPEED OF SOUND" is awesome!!! ❤️ Gorgeous piano
Just saw Coldplay in concert last month in Atlanta. Absolute 🔥💯 Amazing song - exceptional band! Keep going down the Coldplay rabbit hole.
I went to the Houston show. Such an experience and I kept my dang bracelet, lol.

Very melodic and relaxing song. One of the greats by Coldplay. Great review.
One of my favorite modern Rock Bands....a lot of people don't like them ....I love them!!!! One of the few bands that play real instruments!!!
Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, Maroon 5...my 3 favorite 21st century era bands, and i know that i love ppl "hate" them, but i loveee them

for me, this is one of the most beautiful songs i've ever heard
Love this one! I remember the first time I heard it, as it made quite an impression on me.
Thanks for listening
Coldplay are a very very popular group in the UK. Please play more of them in the near future. You will not regret it.👍
I really enjoy "A sky full of stars" from them. But so many hits!
I just love Chris Martins' voice and piano stylings....this is from the years when he was married to Gwyneth Paltrow...it was a fun time!!
This record won a Grammy in 2002... best single!! No wonder it sounds familiar...
My fav Coldplay album is Parachutes. The whole album is stellar. Every song. ✌❤

The song I skydived too 15yrs ago. My aunt who was 60yrs old that day jumped to U2, Beautiful Day!! Great memories❤
My favorite of theirs! The BEST group of the 21st Century hands down of ANY genre!

The whole "A rush of blood to the head" album is an absolute masterpiece. Every single song is amazing. I can highly recommend the whole album
Chris plays piano and guitar. All their lyrics are on point and make you think.
You are. It's like to be or not to be. I've heard this song a million times and never cared or knew what he was saying there. The song is beautiful!
"Fix you" ❣️
Such a beautiful song. Such a good vocal with the instruments.
Coldplay is great!!! Yall should definitely do some of there live videos..they're awesome💛
I noticed someone below mentioned the band "James". They have an excellent song called "Laid".
Gotta react to Trouble. It's a Masterpiece 💕

"The Scientist" is from the same era of Coldplay and is just as good. This time period was Coldplay's peak.
Every Coldplay song pulls on the heart strings!! Amazing band!! 👍🏼
Hi Asia & BJ. Yes, this was a huge hit for Coldplay. I interpret the song title referring to time slipping away from us. That's just my perspective.
Home... home.. where I wanted to go... the best lyrics ever.
The music of Clocks was used in a TV commercial (but I can't remember which). That's why it sounds familiar. Good reaction! Keep 'em coming!
The piano is just the theme song to Halloween. Prove me wrong.
🤣😂🤣 I totally hear it now.

All that matters is that it's getting out there...the real side of life the truth..that's real and Coldplay spits it man in the realist

Very weird song structure to this one but they make it sound deceptively simple. That second album had some really special moments
Classic. You should check out a handbell ensemble of this song. It's really good.
The music might sound familiar because Brandy sampled it in her song "Should I Go" back in the early 2000s.
Chris Martin on the piano.
Peter Gabriel and this guy do Washing of the Water at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction for Peter.....really cool.
They put me in a good mood ! ❤
Check out Speed Of Sound
You guys are my favorite reaction team by far. Love Y'all.
I never listened to them much but the songs I've heard have been great.
You should change that and go through every song of every single one of their albums! You are missing out on so much great music!
They played for the superbowl halftime show...with bruno mars and shakira, I believe.
Coldplay are brilliant !!!!!!!
In my top ten soulful haunting Melodie’s,up there with Chris isaacs “wicked game” and Gino Vanellis’ wild horses.
look at where their first single was hitting the charts, it is called "yellow"
Some people are very good in music 🤝
Yall have to do the remix with legendary Cuban band Buena Vista Social Club! Its a beautiful blend!
Coldplay should be somewhere saved as a genre of its own. Like a Bible
Asia is so beautiful
