- When you use Google Maps, you can "Send" your destination or route to your car if it uses OnStar. This video shows exactly how to do that.

This doesn't work at all except for a few manufacturers. HOWEVER...
since this video talks about Chevrolet, the mychevrolet app will send directions directly to your in-dash navigation and works EXTREMELY well.
no getting involved with the onstar buttons.. you use a map similar to google maps in the app and after you find your destination, you click on the ">" button next to the address you found.
it pops up a menu that says "Send to In-Dash Navigation" (among other things) when you click on it, your in-dash navigation simply pops up a screen with a button that says "start navigation" (or something like that..)
you click the one button and you're off to the races...
Awesome! I didn't knew this cool feature of OnStar...pretty neat and useful going to use it most often now!! thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for the info :-) Its always good to know people like you help others thanks again :-)
Cool car! :) Thank you.
With the user name on Google maps you can input your destinations to your vehicle using virtual advisor.
What version of Google Maps are being used in this video?
Does this work even though my volt doesnt have navi?
They seem to have removed the option, unfortunately :( I don't know why or if it will be returning.
I can use my my Chevy link app to send destinations to turn by turn or connect to virtual advisor first things first I need to pass a test before I get a license to get a gm brand.
Wait... Can we still do this? And, if I do not have the OnStar Navigation package (because it's an extra $100) can I do this?
Thanks!
Navigation is standard in most vehicles. just ask the infotainment guide.
Or you can get the Onstar app and send the map to your car without having to do the virtual advisor thing.
I do not get the choice of "send' ?? Have turn by turn navigation with On Star
Can this work with Onstar vehicles that DO NOT have the mapping screen?
Google does not support OnStar (Chevy Volt)
No On-Star anymore, or cars that have it. Just a few models. :(
use mapquest instead!
send is missing from google maps
How to use my onstar to locate my Chevy avalanche
seems like it does not work for volts anymore
I was able to get it working using this link from Google. support.google.com/maps/answer/3500417?hl=en
+Josiah Davidson Awesome, thanks
Doesn't work - Google only lets me send to my phone.
And you can't send the map itself, either. Not now.
it's not anymore ! on googel the onstar
Yep. This is outdated.
Does not give me choice of Chevrolet
Yeah...this doesn't work anymore.
Thank you!! that is entertainment info but.......Not functional at all, imagine every time you wanna go somewhere doing that....nop!
Wildly outdated. Almost no car manufacturers support this now.

I'll just use the GPS in my 2017 Silverado instead of jumping thru all the hoops.... meh...
