I was born in 2001, so I was too young to remember a time when Giuliani was “respectable”. It’s hard to imagine.
He morphed into something terrible.
In the year you were born Giuliani was the mayor of New York and was very well regarded due to his support of the emergency services following the 9/11 attacks.

Because unfortunately there is no law that says he can't lie to the American people. It's protected under free speech. He would only be held accountable if he lied in court, and so far when he's been asked a direct question by judges he's been forced to be honest. But then goes out there in front of a camera and mic and lies again. Obviously things need to change to prevent a future leader to ever attempt something like this again. How this whole thing isn't considered treason is beyond me.

The NY Bar doesn't want to appear political, because that's what the law is about. Apolitical. So because Ghouliani is a political figure right now, they won't take action against him. Once he gets indicted, and he definitely will, his license will be pulled and buried.
