Wow….you’re journey was an absolute pleasure to watch. I was so touched by your heartfelt narrative throughout. Your summary at the end with the stunning Finisterre background was absolutely amazing and so thought provoking. You’re a very talented filmmaker. Your Dad will be very proud of you. 🥰
Thank you very much for the kind words. I'm incredibly grateful that I was able to share this experience with so many people and even more thrilled that you enjoyed it!
Your father is with you and is very proud of who you are and what you have accomplished. I have walked the Camino Frances three times, my last one in 2024 and I am 72 years old and I still come away from my journey with lessons learned. I can say to you that you are on the right path and your journey in life will continue to take you forward. I can see you are a good person and have a big heart. Buen Camino.
Words like these mean more to me than I could ever express. Thank you, Steve. You know, when I first heard of others walking the Camino so many times, I couldn't believe it but after finishing my first Camino I fully understand how an experience like this can keep someone coming back. It was easily one of the most impactful experiences I've had in my life. Perhaps one day we'll meet along the way! Thanks again. Buen Camino.
Beautiful man. Thank you. I'm walking my first Camino this year. As a sort of step into the next chapter of my life. I hold no expectations for what it will do for me other than I will be there to experience whatever it has to offer. I related a lot with many of the things you said. All love brother.
Thank you! I hope your Camino experience is as great as mine was. (Spoiler: I can almost guarantee it will be! Haha) Are you starting in St. Jean Pied de Port as well?
Thanks for sharing this, it was really nice to see the familiar places 🙂 A lot of the feelings you describe i recognise. I walked the camino Francés earlier this year, i started from my home in Belgium and continued to Muxia and finisterre...2500kms, 3 months of walking. Experience of a lifetime I really enjoyed your video 🙂
That's incredible!! I think during my time on The Camino, I only met one other person who had walked from such a far distance. She had started from her home in Germany and I thought that was such an awesome thing to do. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did, and thank you for watching!
Well done Michael. I enjoyed experiencing your journey as if I was alongside of you. I’m probably the age your Dad was when he passed (61). I feel for your struggles as I experienced something similar. My Dad passed during Covid and we were not allowed to be with him in his final weeks. He was originally from East of Emerson MB. Your documentary came up in my UA-cam feed tonight. I have booked my flight to Paris for mid August of this year. Thank you for sharing as I prepare for my Camino.
Thank you so much for the kind words, Bobby. And I'm sorry you had to go through that. It's truly never easy but having it happen through Covid like that must have made the whole ordeal that much harder. I hope you're alright. I'm very excited to hear that you've booked your flight though! I can't express in words how incredible this experience was overall for me, and I hope it goes just as well for you! If you have any questions about the process or the walk in general, please don't hesitate to reach out and ask. I can't guarantee that I will have the answer, but I'm more than happy to try and help out if I can. Take care, Bobby!
Que mensagem linda 🤩 você passa sobre a Vida. Com a expectativa que criamos e a realidade que encontramos. Parabéns pela jornada ❤ Mas o caminho apenas começou 🙏🏻 Buen Camino
you should do the camino del Norte. From Irun to Santiago. Only 10% of people who hike all routes of the caminos do the northern route. very peaceful and great scenery and coastline
Fantastic video. Really enjoyed it. I am hoping to be able to do the Frances route at some stage this year. I too lost my father last year and I feel I have not properly grieved him. I could empathise with how you were feeling. Thank you for being so open. Best wishes from Ireland.
Thank you for the kind words, Michael. I'm sorry to hear about your father, and I hope your time on the Camino turns out to be as beneficial for you as it was for me. Best of luck and take care, it truly is an incredible experience all around!
G'day Michael, My wife Jo and I have just watched your documentary in its entirety. It's now 2:44am I'm lying in bed and I'm itchy just thinking about bedbugs, thanks! We came across the video looking for information on the Camino as we're wanting to do it in September, but you took us on a personal journey instead that was captivating to watch and at the same time gave this 54 year old non walker a dose of reality as to what's in store. Really enjoyed watching your journey and wish you well.
@@polehammer Thank you! I'm glad I was able to bring you along for the journey, and even more thrilled that you're planning on experiencing it first hand! I'm certain you and Jo will have an amazing adventure 🙏 P.s. - Sorry to bring up the bed bugs! Hopefully you won't have to deal with them at all. Thanks again!

Hey, I filmed everything using the DJI Osmo Action 4 and then edited it using Davinci Resolve. Hope that helps 😁
