Question to Churchy: What kind of setup You have? Curious because of soo good fuel economy. Is this a blacktop (as it looks)? What pump (piston size)? How much boost? Did you upgrade injectors? Hope to hear from you!
Great thing about diesel is that since they can go further with the same amount of fuel you don’t have to bring as much extra fuel on your journey as in a petrol.
@@Churchys_adventures Seen many aftermarket turbo'd GQs get around 10-11 per 100kmph back in the day, so reckon the 40's on your bus are like an extra overdrive with nana driving, hey.
so where does “built not bought” and “bought and assembled” draw the line? If you were to distinguish them to the extreme you would dug out that metal ore and refined it yourself, with a stone shovel if thats even a thing.
I reckon the reason the petrol ran through so much petrol was because 1: it’s an LS, they aren’t known for their fuel economy 2: it’s supercharged they eat through fuel like it’s nothing The petrol definitely sounds better, nothing beats the whine of a supercharger
Lol I have a 92 k1500 with a 4.3l. God do I wish I had a v8. But she’s just a camping rig for trips and some off roading. I don’t need much power for off roading. Plus I can go further on the trails with a v6.
As much as I love Petrol, diesel is much better on your wallet which is a big thing if you go distances. My friend has a 3.0 BMW diesel swapped Y60 Patrol (a very popular swap in Europe) and it not only burns less fuel than 2.8D but also has way more power and is heaps more reliable. The old 2.8 got him some 14-16 litres per 100km, the 3.0 gets him 10-12 with more than twice the power and torque. That is a pretty big difference once you do a 6k km drive just to get where you want to spend time- at least fuel is cheap in Russia so there's that.
