Great information, as always. But tourniquets are actually pretty unlikely to cause you to need an amputation if the medical personnel that treat you know when it was applied. I could be wrong, but I believe they shoot for less than 6 hours. Most tourniquets have a little area dedicated for writing the time it was applied. That way, no matter where you end up they know when it was applied. If you apply it to someone else, some people will either write the time on that person's forehead or write T on their forehead. That way in the event the tourniquet is not noticed by medical professionals in the heat of the moment, the giant letter or numbers shows them there is a tourniquet they should be looking for.
Number one, I'm not worth a bullet, number 2, I live in a carry/concealed state and I do, number 3, I'm mid 60s, not really afraid of dying or prison so I would shoot first. So, even at my age, it's a little risky for a Killer, he'll probably look for an easier target.
Sorry, none of that will keep you safe.

Honestly, I don't ever trust anyone around me I don't know, I always get cops called on me because supposedly I am being really suspicious , but I guess it's kind of a good thing since I would rather cops come up to me than someone random
The information provided about losing a limb through the use of a tourniquet is very unlikely. Medical teams at the hospital will most likely be able to safely remove the tourniquet.
I picked up a hitch hiker 2 years ago and she was a young woman by herself, and I was a 40 yo large male. I told her to text someone who I was and my number plate with a photo. She acted like "oh, that's a good idea!" Warning labels are on things for people like her, but I knew I could be trusted and I had no idea who would pick her up behind me, so I went out of my way by 2 hours to get her to a safe location...where I wouldn't be discovered. Nah, dropped her off at a backpackers, she was grateful
There's a podcast that says "Be rude, be weird, stay alive" I think that's sound advice but I've seen truly evil people in this world so my personal best advice is to train for situations you hope never happen. Take up jiu jitsu and muay thai as well as learn to defend yourself in small rooms. Train for the the fight that may not happen but is always possible. Trust me, that's what will keep you alive.
A personal alarm, carrying a smartphone can be tracked if on or off, dont talk to strangers if lost ask a copper for directions, dont stand out where you go or look vulnerable. Leave a note with a time and phone number to get back in touch at home. Systema is good for self defense pressure points.

I do a variation of the licence plate thing if I like meet someone at a club and go back to their place or something similar. I take a pic of them with my phone and send it to a good friend with a message saying "If I get murdered/disappear, he did it"

4) carry a legal weapon and cellphone.

kurzgesagt and the infographic show are two completely different beasts. They're both documentary types but that is where the similarities end. I like both
Situational awareness or presense of mind, quick physical reactions or reflexes, mental strength or toughness, composure or self-confidence, resourcefulness, the instinct or the will to fight back and defend yourself, knowing when to fight back or when to just run away as fast as you can, avoiding people places and situations that potentially lead to heated altercations or violent encounters, and your martial arts/fighting/self-defense skills and techniques (if you have any or some) which you have spent long periods of time practicing and training, can drastically increase your chances of successfully defending yourself and surviving potentially violent self-defense encounters. Speaking based on my personal experience as a self-defense practitioner.
I will say that the part about a tourniquet is not entirely true. In most cases a tourniquet can be left on a limb for a few hours 1-3 generally if needed before amputation is the only possibility. But the less time it has to be on the better, you might not lose the limb but if left on too long it can cause permanent nerve damage.
"Kurzgesagt is a better channel than the Infographics show" you know the normal things you would never say.

The scariest thing about serial killers are the number they think are active at any given time. Now think about the fact that that number will be low even in the best of times. And there's no way of knowing or even guessing when they might strike. Yeah, that's one of the few things that might give me _pause_ in life.
