Can this help to reset a touchy throttle? I read that these cars can "learn" driving habits and adapt. My daughter just bought this 2008 kia manual transmission and it's a beast to get from a complete stop smoothly. (Experienced drivers)
I’m pretty sure my 2013 Kia optima is in limp mode. The oil light is on and it won’t exceed 2000 rpm. Had the same problem last week, took it into a shop and they couldn’t find anything besides putting in freon for my a/c 😅
I could be wrong, but did you do the recall for engine knock? which is basically updating the ecu to put the car in limp mode when it detects early signs of rod knock. this may be that, and if so, i would haul it over to your kia dealership. who knows, you might even get a free new engine 😉
Thats not all the way true. Because some components hold power for a certain amount of time. Yes unplugging the battery will do the trick at resetting it. But doing it in this manor may only take 15min vs just the battery taking hours or days
That looks easy enough, thanks

True I just called and scheduled an appointment hopefully it works
@@sigma4079does updating the ecu stops car from limo mode ?
@@tynixon2470did you ever figure out the issue?
Same looking device on my 2016 kia soul 1.6L. Right behind battery
You have already disconnected the battery so unplugging the ECU loom won't do anything more to reset the ECU as there is no more voltage!

my forte5 retains its memory for over 24hrs...
@@Zawo254 you turn on headlights after unplugging the battery it'll help drain it

Is it enough for my kia pride car to reset the ecu if the battery poles are pulled out?
Thank you for this video
you are welcome 😊
