Because he won his titles in a car, with a team that was formed and developed by and with the help from Michael to the top of the field. Today you can see, how good, or better, how bad Hamilton really is. The RB isn't really the best car, but with Verstappen it's good enough to show Hamilton's limitations.

I see people comparing many drivers to him, but none of them recovered a lap from the entire grid after finding himself last (Brazil 2006), fought for the WC for two years in a row without driving the best car on the grid (1997-98), earned a 5 seconds advantage to the whole grid at the First lap in Monaco (1997), won races having pitted more times than the others (Hungary 1998 and France 2004), took pole in Monaco at 43 years of age driving the 5th car of the pack (2012), and many other things I'm not gonna list because It would take too much time. When someone will do many things comparable to them, I Will accept the comparison, but before that I wont. Records have no value nowadays, everyone who find himself in the best car can easily dominate for many years because the other teams have no possibilities to recover the gap. Only pure class matters.

Michael Schumacher gave me the greatest TV sporting moment of my life when he won the 2000 championship for Ferrari and all Ferrari fans around the world. However, over the years, as I watched, I learned to respect your dedication. I then learned to admire your ability with each race and I realised what it must mean, and what must be sacrificed to be a great racing driver. I learned, as taught as a master does by example, by results, by clear ultra-human determination through strength of character and sheer natural talent. In time I learned to love you as a proper no-nonsense 'driven' legend, who helped drag a very poor Ferrari team (at the time) back to their true potential. I watched it, I experienced it (2001), I will never forget your contribution. You changed F1 for the better, in a truely great era. You are thee true World Champion of Formula One, and nothing can take that away, ever. Memories forever Mr. Michael Schumacher. More than any of us mortals can dream of, you will live forever. People often tend to forget what a shit team Ferrari was when Michael joined. He didn't join only for money. He joined for the glory. It was his ambition to get the oldest surviving team in F1 back on what Italians always thought was their rightful place - No. 1. The whole no compromise attitude left Ferrari bruised and beaten down but Michael Schumacher had an ambition, the drive, he knew he could get Ferrari back on top again. It took 4 long and at times heart-breaking years but once he made a winning team out of Ferrari once again he didn't stop. This is why he is the greatest. Fangio, Senna und Schumacher. Fangio der Autoflüsterer. Senna der schnellste. Aber Schumi war der kompletteste F1 Fahrer aller Zeiten. Er hatte noch eine Eigenschaft, die kein anderer Rennfahrer hatte. Mit seiner menschlichen Art war er automatisch ein Teamplayer und konnte seine Jungs dermaßen motivieren, dass sie mit ihm durchs Feuer gingen. Michael Schumacher war eine absolute Ausnahmepersönlichkeit in diesem verrückten F1-Circus. Und selbst wenn Hamilton 10 Titel holen sollte, wird er nicht mal ansatzweise an Schumi herankommen.

People often tend to forget what a shit team Ferrari was when Michael joined. He didn't join only for money. He joined for the glory. It was his ambition to get the oldest surviving team in F1 back on what Italians always thought was their rightful place - No. 1. The whole no compromise attitude left Ferrari bruised and beaten down but Michael Schumacher had an ambition, the drive, he knew he could get Ferrari back on top again. It took 4 long and at times heart-breaking years but once he made a winning team out of Ferrari once again he didn't stop. This is why he is the greatest. He made a shit Ferrari believe in themselves again an re-learn the winning ways. :)

Fangio, Senna und Schumacher. Fangio der Autoflüsterer. Senna der schnellste. Aber Schumi war der kompletteste F1 Fahrer aller Zeiten. Er hatte noch eine Eigenschaft, die kein anderer Rennfahrer hatte. Mit seiner menschlichen Art war er automatisch ein Teamplayer und konnte seine Jungs dermaßen motivieren, dass sie mit ihm durchs Feuer gingen. Michael Schumacher war eine absolute Ausnahmepersönlichkeit in diesem verrückten F1-Circus. Und selbst wenn Hamilton 10 Titel holen sollte, wird er nicht mal ansatzweise an Schumi herankommen.
