I believe Gilles Villeneuve should have been on this list, I can't remember which year it was at Watkin Glens where during practice Jody Scheckter set a lap that he thought nobody would beat, then Gilles went out and beat his time by 12 seconds, had this occurred during the qualifying, Gilles would have set the greatest pole difference from first to second. Driving left hand only in a car that was all mussel to drive while holding down a gear box in poring rain knowing one mistake could be your life. Now that is raw talent and bravery.
The best performance of all times was Senna's second place in Monaco with a Toleman in 84. A small team with a not so good car. If the race had one more lap he would have won. But it was suspended due to excessive rain.
No ! It was not suspended by excessive rain.. Jack Ickx suspended the race because Senna was rapudly approach french Alain Prost and would easily surpass him to win the race.
@@Jamo_7811 I know the stats ..you are not discovering anything new to me. @@TEGRULZ In dry weather, the "illegal" Tyrrells were the slowest cars on the grid, weren't they. How can such a slow car perform that way in the wet? Ask Brundle, he was driving the same car as Bellof.
LOL, Senna and Hamilton in wet conditions?? Anyone betting on Hamilton better buy a lottery ticket. More chance of winning. Hamilton is okay in wet, but far from being great, except when he hits the right tire strategy. Which happened twice. But other than that, many drivers are better than him in wet. Which was pretty clear in Turkey 2020, when he was horrible during the wet phase, and only returned to the top after the track got dry again. If it kept raining he wouldn't have a chance.
BTW, in Japan 2007 it was Kovalainine who made it from 12th place to 2nd place, in a much slower car. If he had a few more laps maybe he'd end up 1st. And even if he wouldn't Webber certainly would. As he was a lot faster per lap than both LH and Heiki. Fortunately for LH, Vettel took care of Webber, hitting him from behind and completely demolishing his car. So.... I'd say it was more luck than skill. But for Kovalainen it was definitely skill, jumping from 12th place to 2nd, ending only 8 secs behind LH. In a lot slower car.
Nakajima in the slow Lotus at Adelaide 1989?! He started near the back, spun at the first corner, recovered to finish 4th and set fastest lap in the process
Interesting thing about Nakajima, and other Asian drivers back then. They were very slight people, and didn't have the strength required to drive a F1 car for lap after lap, but when it rained, the cars were far easier to drive, lighter steering and less braking required, and that's when they could show their skill.
Ferrari pit crew was like: holy shit I didn't k ow our car could do that!! The Ferrari was crap when he joined and that was their second win in 2 years lol.
Schumchers win in Spain 🇪🇸 is 5th And Jim Clark win in Belgium 🇧🇪 is 3rd that's a fix I totally agree with sir Jackie Stewart's win in Germany 🇩🇪 coming first and I'll give you the reasons why sir Jackie Stewart's win stays in 1st and why Jim and Michele's wins move into the top 3 Sir Jackie Stewart's win stays in 1st because he won at the 14.1 mile Nurburgring nordschleife in the most dangerous motor racing weather with no power steering, a manual gearbox, he set a remarkable fastest lap of 9:36.0 in the wet, he led every lap of the race he was suffering from a broken wrist and still won the race by a remarkable 4 minutes that's superhuman Jim Clarks win moves up to 2nd because he won at the 8.7 mile spa track again in terrible weather with a faulty gearbox and how the hell he drove one handed with the other hand holding the gearstick in place is just unbelievable Micheal Schumacher's win moves to 3rd because he was on a come back drive after a poor start he set a lap time 2.2 seconds faster than everybody else in the rain and was only running on 8 of his 10 cylinders that's crazy
The 1996 ferrari was a dog of a car. I call there are too many great wet weather performances by the likes of Schumacher, Senna, Hamilton and others to truly make a list
1993 Senna's McLaren was a 2s+ slower car than the Williams too, why they didn't comment that??? C'mon, there's no comparison between Donington '93 and Spain '96, at all! Not to mention that they ignored Monaco '84, Senna with that crappy Toleman going more than 2s faster per lap than everybody else!

Yellow helmet, Monaco 1984, Nurburgring 1984- Mercedes-190, Estoril 1985, Donington 1993... Senna the GOAT.
Senna was spectacular in the rain just about every single time. He was incredible.

Senna the best! Ever! 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Yes. Much much better than our current "champ".

Interesting thing about Nakajima, and other Asian drivers back then. They were very slight people, and didn't have the strength required to drive a F1 car for lap after lap, but when it rained, the cars were far easier to drive, lighter steering and less braking required, and that's when they could show their skill.

Schumchers win in Spain 🇪🇸 is 5th And Jim Clark win in Belgium 🇧🇪 is 3rd that's a fix
I totally agree with sir Jackie Stewart's win in Germany 🇩🇪 coming first and I'll give you the reasons why sir Jackie Stewart's win stays in 1st and why Jim and Michele's wins move into the top 3
Sir Jackie Stewart's win stays in 1st because he won at the 14.1 mile Nurburgring nordschleife in the most dangerous motor racing weather with no power steering, a manual gearbox, he set a remarkable fastest lap of 9:36.0 in the wet, he led every lap of the race he was suffering from a broken wrist and still won the race by a remarkable 4 minutes that's superhuman
Jim Clarks win moves up to 2nd because he won at the 8.7 mile spa track again in terrible weather with a faulty gearbox and how the hell he drove one handed with the other hand holding the gearstick in place is just unbelievable
Micheal Schumacher's win moves to 3rd because he was on a come back drive after a poor start he set a lap time 2.2 seconds faster than everybody else in the rain and was only running on 8 of his 10 cylinders that's crazy
Thanks to Sir Jackie Stewart. He did so much for race safety 🙏👏
