Great comment at the closing about not shutting your training partner down. Perhaps our competitive nature and ego is what’s standing in the way of our abilities to improve. I think that’s why most of CST students were very good. Well at least those I met and trained with over the 6 years when I visited HK. Another great lesson Sifu ❤
This has become a very important thing for me as a teacher and I strive to promote it as the culture at our school (adopted from CST) and that is for the Snrs not to always be attacking the less skilled and to defend majority of the time so allow space for the less skilled to work and attack. It's interesting how difficult it is to abide by because like you said our ago and competitive nature gets in the way. So it becomes a great practice for keeping the ego in check also.
This video is so interesting, I've seen a lot of Chi Sau instructional videos and they are all talking about techniques to counter a technique. You make it so simple, I want to feel and learn what you are teaching in this video.
Tks to you !🤩! I've seen all wingchun vidéos....this is the better explanation that i've heard! I make the wish to practice wingchun with you for feeling better just one of this effect on my body I (sry I'm french) great!🙏🤝
Hello, I partially agree with what you say here. Now, one thing is to use specific mechanics of chi sao once the contact is got, one thing is to predetermine how and where the contact will be. Of course this is my opinion. But some few details in what you say, make me think that from your point of view, the way of how the contact will be established, including the trajectories of opponent's arms, are already decided in advance, and it will happen necessarily (my impression from the video) in front of us. Maybe there is something I miss. Is it?
Where the contact will be is depending on where the opponents hands/guard is places. But regardless the same principle always applies, and that is to ensure we cover the path of their attack ( of both their arms) while striking through.

haha, it's always better to be feeling it in person. but many are honestly benefitting so much from our online school www.mindfulwingchun.online we did put 5years of work into making it and it's still not fully finished yet but the first 4.5years of the course is completed.
